"Hey, two devs are browsing this thread. Care to voice your opinion?" LOL You spying on them? "
-
"As I insinouated above, I have never heard of 1up in my entire life before and I can't exactly lend my rational opinion to a site that is under the impression that this game was developed by Bioware" Don't judge a review until you read it. It is obvious you did not read it. "7.5?" Yeah, because they dared to give the game a "low" score. Hahahaha. 7.5 is not that bad unless youa re so worried that iKOTOR sin't getting 9 9.5 9 9 9 8.5 9 9 9.8 9 9 8.3 across the baord. Hahaha.

Lots of crying in this thread. Poor little KOTOR2 has one review with a 7.5 and people are whining like someone squashed their precious toys. The reviewer, btw, knows full well, that Obsidian developed the game. Did you guys actually read the review or did you skip the meat of it because you fainted at the "low" score and saw the silly headline that says Developer: Bioware which is probably just some silly mistake. As evidence that the guy knows what he's tlaking about in this regard: 1. "created as a side project by another developer while the original creators work on a real follow-up." 2. "When they were known as Black Isle, Obsidian's" 3. "Obsidian has done quite an impressive job in surpassing Bioware with all the parts of KOTOR that people liked in the first place." How can ANYONE read the review and then be dumbe nough to claim that the author doesn't know who's devloping it? Weird. Sure, they make a complete 100% guess in BIO making KOTOR3; but to say they don't know who is developing the game is stupid. The review - the meat of it - is solid. In fact, reading the review makes one (at least me) want to play as accoridng to the reviewer the game is 'deeper'. Please don't be shallow and cry because the game didn't get another lame 90%+. Geez..

"Many people though Super Mario cart was fun, so you are saying they should have put aspects of that game in ToB?" Sure. But, instad of karts, it could be horse + carriage. Can have good old fashion tournaments. WOO HOO! R00fles! -

They were thinking fun for most palyers; not fun for the anal types like yourself. Whoc ares if +3 weapons were sold ins tores. Well, other than you and your fellow anals; that is. As for returning characters in KOTOR2; consideirng you can easily get level 20+ in the game; you should be able to easily have the old characetrs in if you so choose between levels 15-20. Levels shouldn't be much of a concern in this case. "You know, whether you believe me or not, I learned rather quickly that arguing with Hades_one is impossible. He knows his stuff, and you would be wise just to say "Yes sir" and move along. After all, this is not the thread you are looking for." I eally hope youa r ebeing sarcasting. Hades is very rarely right. Heck, he can't even agree with hismelf half the time. KOTOR is just ok but he rates it almost 90%. NWN is the worst game ever but he bought tis expansions and rated the OC around 75%. He'll no longer buy games fromc ertain companies (BIO, Troika, Atari to name a few) yet lands up doing it anyways. Does KOTOR 3 need to use the Source Engine?
Volourn replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"Source engine is suitable for pretty much any type of game." I can live with it as long as the combat/control part of the engine is COMPLETELY changed. Graphics and such are very good; otherwise meh. -
"Cool. Volourn joins in. There goes the neighborhood." One neighbourhood at a time is my motto. "Ya, I could care less about people breaking the rules by posting whatever crap they come up with, I just don't read it, and that's about it. But when it comes to 500 px sigs and 700 kb avatars, and then I am told about how my gifs increase loading times, my flame sense kicks in. You understand." Meh. I say let people do what they want and let the mods sort it out. If the sigs and avatars are too draining they'll step in otherwise no worries. Same with the flaming and trolling. There's a certain amount is allowed within limits even though its technically against the rules; but there is always a line not to cross.
-
"I just stick to forum rules" Yet you break them all the time. R00fles! And, yes, so do I. However, i don't whine about others breaking forum rules (much) iunless they go way over the line which he hasn't nor have you. So stop whimpering.

"that's jus' cuz ye wouldna know a good story if'n someone smoked ya o'er the head wit' it, dwarf... " Of course, I never said PST's story was bad. It is very good. I just don't think it's "the best ever" and you can't handle the treuth so you make up stories. go play DS. It's more to your liking than PST anyways. -

Volourn replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Heh. I like to pick on mr. Avellone a lot espicially whn it comes to the over adulation of PST; but I must say I do enjoy these 'ramblings'. They are always informative. Good stuff. "For me, it was quite obvious that K2 wasnt going to be a continuation of KoTOR" Um.. Yes, it is. It may not be a direct continuation of the same characetrs but what "occured" in KOTOR1 does play a part in KOTOR2. Hence the questions at the game start supposedly. -
This is so typical of Mr.Avellone and his team...
Volourn replied to Claws's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"PS:T has the deepest, most interesting plot in any RPG." No. "Volourn, all I was saying is based on the IGN review, KOTOR2 seems to bear a little resemblance to PS:T in terms of the issues it deals with, which is always a good thing" Why? Because the story is uspposedly 'dakrer' than the original'? 'Dark' is NOT synonmous with 'deep'. Van Helsing was a 'dark' story; but it wasn't deep. There are many examples as well. PST was kinda deep; but it wasn't THAT deep of a story. "True. Which is why I think it's silly that people who haven't played it yet are already claiming it's a masterpiece. I, myself, feel it has the potential to be great, and what information I've seen about it have me optimistic. But I think it's a bit premature to say whether or not it'll be great." Great. -

Volourn replied to Claws's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"His comment was in response to your KOTOR2 comment. Since you haven't played it yet, I think you're jumping the gun with your statement." Eh. Posisbly. then again, I guess that goes the same for people who are claiming that KOTOR2 is the deepest thing since PST. Works both ways, ya know. Double standards are cool (if he was talking about that). Then again, I thought my "it'll probably be good maybe evn great' covered the possibility ... Hmm.. -

"Uhhhh....since when have you been physically incapable of puking?" Since I haven't in over 10 years! "or it's very 'deep' for being a game." No. It was very good for agame; but it wasn't that deep. Don't let the amount of words fool you. -

Volourn replied to Claws's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
PST was good but tis story and its soc alled 'philosphical discussions' are so overrated I'd puke if I was physically capable of it. I expect KOTOR2's story to be good. Maybe even great. But don't make it sound like some "OMG This is deep poo!" stuff. It's a game. It ain't that deep. Deal with it. -
"this review says that the story is undeniably better than the first..." Why is why that review simply can't be trust. It is undeniable (R00fles!) that any story can be 'undeniably' better than another since story above most anything is opinion. Plain, and simple. It loses. IGN may be wrong in its assessment but at least they're not dumb about it.

"I thought Malak was easier than the end bosses in all rpgs by Bioware and Black Isle." Eh. The only ones harder for me were Sarevok and Mephi (spam the rest of his name here). IWD's demon boss, NWN OC, Irenicus, and Melissan were ok. SOU's Medusa, PST's yourself and HOW's white dragon were super easy. Didn't finsih IWD2 so I can't comment there. Neitehr of FO's bosses were harder but theyw ere challenging in their own rights. Master not as much though. Meh.
-
R00fles! I gots a tear in my eye. Okays, no I don't but still it was cute!. :">
-
"It was an easy batlle, easier than most other RPGs." Which ones were harder? That's what i'd like to know. I can count maybe half a dozen to 6 max that were actually harder. All one has to do is look at the early spoiler posts in BIO's forum to see that LOTS of people though Malak was hard. I, myself, found that he was challenging; but he was not 'hard". Though he was "harder" than most other end bosses in RPGS.
-
"But, wasn't the final battle of KOTOR1 very easy compared to other RPGS?" No.

This is bad news espicially since the combata ccording to IGn is easier... <_< -
"This one isn't a bioware game, so we can't know what to expect when it comes to technical support." True, but BIo was helping Obsidain with engine stuff and story continuity and the like so BIO will be involved in some level. And, I trust Obsidian in this because Feargus is probably the main Interplay person when it cmae to helping BIO deal with BG bugs...
