Ooo.. Sarcasm. I like..
-
Nathaniel for the win! P.S. Of course, FO2 was significantly longer and still had lots of branching stories, plots, and quests...
-
"I think you're just splitting hairs for the sake of being confrontational." Eh? I think the ones calling Obsidian liars are the ones trying to be confrontational. You can't get much clearer than 'There are no sewers in NWN2'. Those are Obsidian's words not mine. Geez.. "But if it handles a locations' sewage wouldn't that make it a sewer? I mean, I am trying to understand your logic here." Sewers are more than just that. It's not the real world. Sewers are a state of mind. A state of existence. When I think sewers, I think SEWERS. I think of an area that is more than just poo and piss falling from drains.
-
'Cause its not a sewer. Much like a gold dwarf is 'like' a shield dwarf.. but isn't one... Close but no cigar.
-
I didn't say that... I said sewer like doesn't equals ewer. Afterall, I can use a dungeon tileset and just say poo and piss comes from above and claim it's a sewer... but, it isn't. R00fles! Again, to semi quote Obsidian: "There are no sewers in NWN2."
-
My point is it doesn't matter what people make with the toolset. What matters here is what Obsidian adds. Afterall, people whine about NWN's lack of tileset variety and conviently ignores the dozens of tilesets avaialble in the community... R00fles! And, sewer like does not equal sewer. On top of that, onc eagain, Obsidian's words: "There are no sewers in NWN2." It can't get more clear cut than that...

Yet another NWN2 Interview - Teh Protagonist!
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
"Sounds like the NWN2 has a bit more substance to it however." Agreed. From the description, it sounds like she is an atagaonist of the PC's early on before the trial commences.. I just pointed out that the idea isn't new. In fact, I'm sure BG2 isn't the first game to use the idea either. It just came to mind, and I didn't wnat to hear how the idea was super duper original or soemthing. so I cut it off at the knees. " P.S. Plus, I'm a BIo fanboy as you know and needed to pump their games up. LOL "Innocent til proven guilty." She worshipped Shar. That's enough proof for her guilt. -
Obsidian said sewers are not included in NWN2. You cna't get more clear than that. Are they lying about that? Whyw ould they lie about that? Here's soemthing similar. NWN didn't come with a swamp tilset. However, you can make a swamp using the NWN toolset without a hak. That still doens't change the fact that NWN had no swmap. People could make sewers. They can make sewer like areas. And, they can be awesome. But, still, like Obsdiian said, NWN2 has no sewers. Those are Obsidian's words. Not mine. Why are people blaming me for what Obsidian said?

Yet another NWN2 Interview - Teh Protagonist!
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
"Was she actually bad, though? It's been a bit since I played and her backstory is foggy, but wasn't she a Drizzt Do'Urden type "good" drow who just seemed hated for her race, rather than her actions?" She worshipped Shar. Hence she was no Drizzt. Yeha, thoguh, a big reason why she was being burned was becuase she was a drow.. That's good enoguh reason to burn her for evil plus as a cleric of SAhar there is no doubt she committed her share of evil deeds. Remember, I didn't say the situations were exactly the same; but that they were similar. -
No. It'll be sewer like. Only Obsidian can add an official sewer. Afterall, Obsidian made a point to tell us 'there are no sewers in NWN2'. Why would they do that if sewers could me so easy to add? Hmm...

Viconia. Town square. While she didn't neccessarily do anything to the PC she pretty much fits the description above. And, in fact, depending on how your BG1 interaction took place in BG1 she might very well have done soemhting to the PC in the past. -
Yet another NWN2 Interview - Teh Protagonist!

"There -
You cna't make a sewer. Youc an make somehting sewer like. Subtle; but noteable difference. At least to me. It won't completely ruin the game; but since Obsidian has no problem adding trash like that new class; I would have thought sewers which is a big part of D&D adventuring would have been higher on the priorty list...
-
"No. It's called Dungeons & Dragons. I rest my case, Volourn. I win. You lose." Agreed. They shouldn't include magic, swamps, volcanos, trolls, ogres, dwarves, and a host of other things. Let's just have dunegons and dragons. You lose as per usual. R00fles!

"Still seperate. world or setting it doesn't matter. It was only optional if you wanted to link the campaigns. Now in 3 rd Ed its cannon." Doesn't matter what you did in your campaign. Offcicially, that's how it worked in 2E. Deal with it.
-
"Agreed. 2nd Ed had planescape as its own separate world, just like Spelljammer." Um. No. PS is not a world. It's a setting. It's a setting that includes FR, GH, et.c in it. Same with Spelljammer. Nice try though.
-
"You do know FR is a high-level campaign setting?" No. And, IWD2's combat was not that challenging. IWD combat was challenging. As for Hades killing PCs. Outside of his sticking a fireball up some monk's behind; big deal. I allow my players to make dumb mistakes too that end up killing them. The DM shouldn't control the players. The DM's job should be allow the players to explore the world as they see fit.
-
And, you can often reach about that in less than 2 hours in a CRPG... Espicially if you happen to be in a dungeon... It's a good thing I ignore the rule.
-
Says the one who is currently enjoying playing a VAMPIRE....
-
One she likes... just like everybody else... "
-
"Obsidian where most of the former devs to the 1st two games are at now." Really? Not so sure about that....
-
"Then they should be using the name and rules proper then instead of butchering them like Bioware did with NWN 1" Huh? BIO did great with the 3E rules. Not an exact implementation; but hit all the main notes. The game even plays almost like a turn base game (even though it isn't). "NWN had a campaign focused on barrel smashing and extremely slow combat that was repetitive and took hours to finish." Not true, and for someone whose played the game mutliple times you should know that.
-
Heck, in pnp, we can go through an all day session and not level. But, onc eagain, pnp does not equal CRPG.
-
"The big deal is the end level. Volourn in my PnP d20 System campaigns on average my players level their caharacters once in every 10 to 12 hours real time. I expect my CRPG leveling to be half that time for those reasons you give." I agree that 1 level per 5-6 hours in a CRPG would be my preference; but remember we're not the only gamers. Everyone should get a shareness in happiness here. That's why i find 1 level per 2 hours is acceptable. A more lopsided ratio like in KOTOR2, SOU, or FO1 is not cool.
