Alanshu admits to trolling!!!!

Seriously, folks, as funny as the whole 'Werewolf ate Hades for lunch' shtick is funny; it's beyond played out. That said, I'm the last person to talk about 'shticks' being played out' so keep it up! :D

"oh come now. that is hardly an announcement o' a sequel. microsoft is in contact with bio regarding the possibility of a sequel... somehow that became a sequel in vol mind? no wonder you gets so tweaked." I never said that particular link was the announcement. I used that link to rpove that you didn't even try to find anything about MS and their thoughts on JE, JE2, or whatever. What that link proves is that that MS though JE was anything BUT a failure, and have every intention of having a JE2. Read the question, and answer AGAIN. Please. P.S. I'm not gonna spend x amount of time to find one partiuclar article for you. I did more than enough already to squash the idea that MS felt that JE was a failure.

After 2 seconds I found this. Not the article, I referred to earlier; but one that should (but, won't, I know) let you know that you simply don't know what youa re talking about. Link: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/619/619046p1.html Quote: "IGN: There was an interview on Xbox.com with you about a month ago, and you said that in the future, yes, Microsoft would see sequels to the best sellers -- Forza Motorsport, Jade Empire, Project Gotham Racing, and Fable. Are you working with those developers right now on sequels on Xbox 360? Shane: Yes. All of those. We have nothing to announce right now, but what I said in that interview still holds true going forward, which is that I think customers of those franchises can absolutely look forward to seeing them on the Xbox 360." Game over, man. Game over.

LOL My horrible typing strikes again. HAHAHAHAHAH! Leak is supposed to be link. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

1. Do a search. I've posted this link more than A few times on multiple boards. Check IGN for example. I'm sure an article, or two about JE2 is there. I'm not going to babysit your internet surfing. 2. It's not a matter of 'believing'; BIO. It's a matter of nobody giving real evidence that JE was a failure, dissapointment, or whatever. None of know what the financial/sales goals were for JE. Were they 250k? 500k? 1 mil? 2 mil? How long did they expect to reach the sales figures? How much did the game actually cost to make, hype, and market? How much money did it make? Until you (or anyone) can give hard data on this stuff I have no reason to take your word. What we do know is that JE sold some 500k+ copies (see the + sign) after about 6 months. At $50 a sale (cost me $65) at the absolute bare minimum of 500k copies (after 6 months or so) that's 25 million dollars AT MINIMUM that the game made. So, prove to me that JE took upwards of $30 million to develop, publish, and sell and that the game somehow stopped selling exactly at 500k copies (again, see the + sign). Game over.

"also, as you noted, the je2 bit sounds like nothing, don't it? bio ain't working on it and there ain't no expansion. bio claims to have ip rights to je so unless bio is working on it..." BIO also denied the existence of JE PC. And, look at that? JE PC exists!!!! WOWSERS!!!! However, as per usual, you ignored the main point. You wrote: "microsoft obviously already has for all practical purposes announced that je sales were underwhelming, or they woulda' pushed to gets a sequel or expansion released." In response, I wrote: "MS announced JE2 not longer after JE was released." Game over.
-
"also, while Gromnir has never claimed that je bombed, microsoft obviously already has for all practical purposes announced that je sales were underwhelming, or they woulda' pushed to gets a sequel or expansion released." That's funny you mention this. MS announced JE2 not longer after JE was released. Go figure. BIO, on the other hand, has denied working on it. Of course, there's the existence of JE2 on PC. If JE's performance was sooooooooooo dissapointing to BIO why would they waste their time on a port? L0LLERZ! "They didn't hire Volo." BIO barely tolerates me. I seriously doubt they'd hire me unless I could guarnatee them billions of dollars which I can't. "Hades - "JE was pretty crap, but i bought the collectors edition." Actually, Hades has been forthright about liking JE a lot. Not as much as BG, FO, or PST; but a lot nontheless.
-
Grom: "I'm able to change my pov, and as evidence I have changed my opinion a couple of times over the years." LOL What an open mind you have, Grom!!! P.S. I, too, have changed my mind on multiple topics. Most definitely more than a 'couple'. R00fles! "if you want a relatively objective evaluation o' a person's or team's or company's performance does you simply accept the person's/team's/company's self-evaluation?" Mr. Sawyer is far from unbiased. And, MS would likely have no problem that JE bombed (like you claim), and was a failure. Afterall, as publisher they could claim they did a good job and place the blame on BIO. L0LLERGAGS!!!
-
"we don't blame vol. he were always kinda wacky and once he seizes on a notion he won't give up on it for nothing... is like vis that" Pot. Kettle. Black.
-
"you thinks that josh sawyer were lying to you when he gave you a industry insider perspective on je sales?" The only 'industry insiders' whose opinions matter are those in the know - Bioware, & MS espicially MS since they're the publisher. They seemed more than satisifed with JE's performance. "Even Lego Star Wars from a nobody-company sold around 2 million units I think." Two words - Star Wars. "Last time I checked, it was something over 600k units...." 600k+ units, and that was about 6 months ago, is nothing to sneeze at. No one claimed it was a blockbuster hit.

Remmeber, all the games on the list sold more than that. It only counts the US market, and they all seem lowballed. Afterall, BIO claims that NWN/BG2/KOTOR all sold in the neighbourhood of 3 mil copies. Oblivion has sold approx. 1.7 mil - 3 mil copies depending on who you ask as well. "Hmmm... No Jade Empire in top 100 of console games." Not surprising. It sold well; just not top 100 well. "I'm guessing quite a few folks who bought the original were expecting a more standard action SW game. That's the appeal of using an extablished brand, you can capture an uninformed audience. The sequel wasn't able to do the same, because the cat was out of the bag. Still, near 200,000 copies sold for an RPG is excellent." Plus, KOTOR2 got some bad press after release which likely hurt long term sales while folks were slobbering over KOTOR1 which helped its long term sales. Also, BIO likely has a larger fanbase than Obsidian who took a fit because BIO didn't make KOTOR2. On top of that, outside of some exemptions, sequels usually don't outsell the originals unless the original was a surprise hit. This is because no matter how good (or how bad) a game a number of people who buy a game will end up disliking it and will not buy the sequel no mater. I'm sure KOTOR had its sahre of buyers (albeit a minoirty) who fall under that category.

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=c...=1&limitstart=0 An interesting list with a variety of games. Probably not the most accurate in terms of sales (seems all the game got lowballed in terms of sales). It is also US based as well so that lowers # of sales too. BIS had one game in IWD on it. I wonder if the FOs or PST would have made the cut in the 90s.... BIO had BG, KOTOR, and NWN in that order. BG1 didn't make the cut, I presume, because it was released in the 90s.... There's a console list too, and one of the best games ever in MVP Baseball 2005 also made the list!! WOO HOO!

That's a friggin' huge inventory! It's as badly as set up as the NWN one! Way too many inventory slots; but at least them seem to be all on one page. NWN had multiple pages which was silly; but at least it didn't treat armour like it was equal size to a potion. Tsk, tsk. P.S. I'll sya it again. I didn't care much for G1+2; but unlike the ES series I think the Gothic games had the potential to be better. Hopefully, G3 will meet that potential and from the sounds of it it has a chance. -
I wouldn't call a company that's been around for decades, is well known, has made billions of dollars, and has been one of the top selling console/games makers ever to be 'underrated'. That is silly talk.

"He was a conservationist, and spent his earnings creating safe havens and habitats for endangered animals." I don't dispute his love of naimals; but this doesn't change the fact that he harasses them. Heck, this thread and the way he died proves this. Everyone here (I'm no stingray expert myself so i'll take all your words for it) claim that stingrays aren't really aggressive yet one obviously felt threatened or 'harassed' by Irwin enough to strike at him. This is par for the course. He enters their space, and gets in their face when he isn't wanted. That's the defintion of harassment. To me, it's no different than a victim of a stalker getting their revenge so to speak. It's sad he had to die; but hey, he brought it upon himself. It be like me claiming I love bears than going right up to one and say 'hi', and then everyone being shcoked I got killed by a bear when all i did was 'love them'. R00fles!

Being a viglante doesn't make you an 'anti hero' in my book. Exactly what makes Batman an anti hero? Because, it's 'gothic'? LOL

"So, what you're saying is, the first time someone actually plays Bruce Wayne like a person instead of cardboard cutout, he's not badass enough?" No, the point was, he was a cardboard cutout. I didn't feel his emotions. I didn't feel his pain, sorrow, hatred, compassion, or any other emotion that he was trying to protray. And, like I said above, I like Christian Bale as an actor. But, he flopped this role big time espicially comapred to Micheal Keaton who nailed it nearly perfectly. P.S. Batman (no version) is an anti hero.
