Still NHL 08. In season 5 after missing the play offs AGAIN. However, I'm doing much better now. I am 26-16-2, and 5th in the conference. Last year I had dropped from 92 points/1 point out of play offs to 74 points/8 points of playoffs. My created characetr had a chance to win the scoring title, and most goals both from Crosby but I completely faltered down the stretch (no points in last 3 games at all) ending up with 96 points while Crosby had 107 points (he beat me in goals about 57 to 53 as well). Pens are really gusto in this game. L0L Barely lose they do. HA. I gave up a lot of bit for Ovechkin ( two players rated around 90, and a 2nd round draft pick) for O; but it's paid off. Plus, lundqvist has 7 shutouts thus far yet still has a poor save %. Playing on line as well a slot, and am nin two leagues. In one I'm 1st with a 20-11-2 record, and the other (which just started), I am 0-0-1. NHO 08 is really fun. It's up there with MVP 2005 as my favorite sports game of all time.

"To me, he'll always be that really irritating "bad boy" from Ten Things I hate About You." A good performance in an udnerated movie, imo, as it usually gets trashed as 'just a teen movie'. I'm not the biggest fan of Brokeback Mountain (it's a good movie impeded by the overhype for the wrong reasons); but he and a couple of the actors (including his exwife) did a fantastic job.

"This is the NHL thread. I'm talking about Bruins fans. The other sports can die off for all I care." Don't mind me. I'm just grumpy over the disaster of a weekend. L0L LMAO @ video

Sympathy for Boston fans? L0L World series, likely to win the super bowl, possibly an NBA championship Boston fans? Sorry, but hard to feel pity for them.

I've never been to NY. *shrug*

"Giants LOLZ! Dallas is a more worthy team to go to the big game" Losers are never worthy. This super bowl is gonna awesome. Even more awesome because of all the whiners over the Patriots' cheating (which they were already punished for), and the Giants who had 'no chance' against TB, Dallas, and GB supposedly. Pundits always cry foul when their 'solid' predictions come true. Best super bowl ever because I actually won't mind too much if the favorite NE team wins. Losing to Brett 'Trying To Be A Hero' favre would have been shameful. Another Manning in the SB. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! P.S. ELI IS WHO I THOUGHT HE WAS! A TRUE WINNER, AND LEADER! P.S.S. I still don't like Coughlin; but I give credit where credit is due. He has done well. I only dislike one thing he did in the GB - that wa shim whining like a crybaby aka Dark Raven when the first missed FG too place.
-
"Unlike Volo, I certainly won't be doing any laughing at those who predicted a Packers victory in this game." I ahve no problem with predicting a GB victory. theya re a very good team, and could have beaten the Giants. My beef is with those who proclaimed with so called 'certainity' that the Giants had 'no chance'. That was silly, and they deserved to have their faces rubbed into it. Just like the SB. I understand the Patriots will be (and should be) the favorites to win, and will be predicted to win 90% of the time; but anyone who says the Giants have 'no chance' are being dumb ... again. Plain, and simple.

Let's conviently forget that it's a whole 1.8% difference, and not mention the costly interceptions. Espicially cosnidering how 'horrible' Manning is supposed to be. I mean... Gb was gonna DESTROY the Giants according to the 'football knowledge gods' here (not you Mr. Sawyer; but the others I quoted from earlier). P.S. I like Brett Favre. Always have, always will. "I think the most frustrating thing is that all of the great plays were Giants plays" Wouldn't the Driver 90 yard TD reception count as a great play espicially how he punked out the Giant defending him on the line of scrimmage?
-
5 points still isn't 'a lot' no matter how kinky dink and insulkting you try to be. 5 points is a relatively small amrgin, and mostd efinitely isn't 'a lot'. Then again, you are acting like Leaf fans are as used to losingas Rangers fans; but can't seem to handle it as well. L0L

"Giants LOL! They can't touch Green Bay on the frozen tundra. The odds are way against them." "So Farve's passes will be more accurate than Ellie's." "Eli is nothing, nothing at all like his brother. They'll never make it past Green Bay." "E. Manning 21/40 254 0 0 vs. B. Favre 19/35 236 2 2" "NYG 23 GB 20 OT" 'Nough said. See ya in two weeks for the rematch, Patriots! See ya in training camp Favre... work on that awesome accuracy of yours! Better play ice hockey GB as youa re THA awesome in cold weather! R00fles!

5 points is a long way? WOWSERS!

The argument of dark vs. light is never ending so I'l skip that.... "i'm saying the George Lucas of 2008 no longer has the same instincts and sensibility of the George Lucas of 30 years ago, so a Galactica episode written by the 2008 Lucas would in all likelihood be inferior to one written by the Lucas that wrote THX 1138." So, you finally admit it. Writers who 'write' like Lucas/BIO are, in your opinion, inferior to those who write Galactia. that's silly espicially if anyone whos een even one episode of Galactia. It's a good show; but definitely not as deep as some would claim. And, definitely nothing definitely better than Lucas. Plus, it's silly to think there arw actually two diffeent Lucases. The same Lucas who wrote SW is the same Lucas who wrote THX 1138. This is an undispituable fact. Plus, THX while an interetsing movie, and fun to watch is NOT as well written as SW. It might be 'darker', and 'different'; but better written? Nah.

"I meant that Fallout was the start of the new wave and paved the way for BG (weren't Bio originally going to make an RTS?) which lead to the revivial of the genre as a whole. I don't think Fallout alone could have done it, and BG wouldn't have been without Fallout before it." Your illogical. The timeline is off. BG was alreayd well under development before FO came out. The reason BIO turned the RTS into BG was because Interplay had the D&D license, wanted to use it successful after bombing with Descent to Undemrountain, and the big wigs (aka Mr. U et al.) felt that Battlefield Infinity game would be perfect for it. BG's style had nothing to do with FOfrom everything that's been said, and is abck up by the timeline of the two games. Why do people try to give FO credit for BG? It's nonsencial. "Hmm, I don't think George Lucas would be able to write a good episode of Battlestar Galactica. Now, I don't have access to his personnel record, or the work history and resume of everyone at Lucasfilm. Instead, I'm basing it on the artistic output of George Lucas in general. Now, it's not in itself a criticism of George Lucas that he's not writing Galactica episodes, anymore than i'd criticise Chinese food for not being Italian enough. George Lucas writes what he writes, and he's clearly successful (Indeed, I think the George Lucas who made THX 1138 would have written a great Galactica episode, but that's not the George Lucas we have today)." Your inconsistency is illogical. You say he can't write Galactica 'now'; but he could 'before'. I doubt he's very much forgotten how to. He just chooses not to. I'm sure he's capable of it, and you even admit he is. Of course, comapring one writer (Lucas) to a writing/development team of many ala BIo is beyond silly. A single writer at BIO doesn't have the control, or power that Lucas has. "one of the criticisms of which is that it's a little too bright and simple." And, that criticism is stupid. Plain, and simple. I don't think a dwarf that slaughters children is 'too bright'. Thatw as way abck in BG1, btw. I don't think having to tell a mother her children are dead, and then watching said mother basically commit sucide as being 'too bright' nor is that chocie itself 'simple. BIO games are littered with literally hundreds of these type of situations that simply don't fit the stereotype of 'too bright and too simple'. Surely, no more than any other RPG I have played that's for darn sure.

"Fallout was the critical success, Baldur's Gate was the commercial success." Baldur's Gate was both a financial, and critical success. And, this talk of Fo being a 'commercial failure' is a joke. It has spawned two sequels, and 2 spin offs. *shrug* When did a game have to start selling a billion copies to be considered a financial success? L0L "Bioware and Obsidian/BIS = good and complementary games. Bioware churns out the fluff RPGs to sustain us, Obsid/BIS makes the brain food that makes it all worth it." L0L That's funny. there asn't much thinking involved in either NWN2 or KOTOR2. MOTB there was 'cause that was an awesome game. NWN OC had more situations where you had to 'think' than those two sequels. HA! Of course, I laugh when people claim that games made them 'think' like that is supposed to really mean anyway.. L0L NHL08 makes you think. So does Super Mario for heaven sakes. L0L

"Giants LOL! They can't touch Green Bay on the frozen tundra. The odds are way against them." Giants LOL! They can't touch Dallas in the Lone Star State. The odds are way against them.

Nobody thoguht the Giants had a chance at the Cowboys... who is still playing? And, it's not like Giants Stadium is hot like the desert, ya know? Eli, and the G-Men play their share of cold games. Besides, if the Giants win, it won't be because of Eli. The way to victory for the Giants is their defensive line. If they can pressure the QB aka Favre like they can and as they did Romo (espicially in the second half), they'll do well. All I want from Eli is to limit turnovers to no more than 2, and lead the G Men to two TDs, and I'll be happy with his performance.
-
SD vs NE - SD, like many teams, will keep it close for the first half/maybe 3 quarters; but NE will pull away and win comfortbaly in not quite a blowout. GB vs. NYG - I like Favre personally, and I'm not gonna underestimate GB. They're for real, and can definitely beat the Giants; but I gotta go with my team whoa re capable of beating GB so NYG will win. Winners; NE, and NYG. NE will win by 13, NYG will win by a FG; but this game could go either way.

I call that a non apology apology. The guy lied (so much for morals), and continues to spin them. *shrug*

Pink Floys is awesome. (Anotehr Brick) In The Wall is super awesome. Anyways, I'm still playing NHL 08. I'm in my 4th season in my franchise. I gretaly improved from my first two years ins eason three. I finished with 92 points, 1 point out of the plkayoffs, and 30 more points than season 2. Hopefully, I'll make it to the play offs this year. A poor start though as I'm only 1-2-2. HA! Lundqvist managed to win both the Hart and Vezina for me. I was kinda surprised as I was expecting Dipetrio to win it a she had superior nnumbers across the board. then again, the computer liekly realized my team was horrible ats coring goals so Lundqvist basically carried us. Heh. This game, despite some annoyances, is the best NHL game ever.

"line is this team was 14 - 2 last year and did not equal and improve on that record, everyone wanted AJ Smith's head on a platter for firing Marty....Maybe AJ knew what he was doing." This is also the same team that couldn't win even one play off game last year AT HOME yet they managed to beat Indy - the defending champs - at home despite injuries to their top players. *shrug* Just admit it. You, and your ilk were WRONG with wanting Norv Turner fired. (of course, SD shouldn't have fired last year's coach either *shrug*). He's coached the team to a 11-5 record (not exactly shabby, ya know), they have a long winning streak, he managed to right the ship, delat with a poor start from his ace runninb back, got the team to the Conference Championships. Sorry, Norv Turner has done a great job coaching. Accoridng to your logic, neither Indy and NE's coahces should get credit for their teams' success ebcause they have such 'great' players. R00fles! P.S. Kinda hypocritical here because I loathe the Giants' head coach thoguh I admit he's done some good coaching. "winner. Most people who know what they are talking about (not you) realize the Chargers are one of, if not the most talented team in football" Funnily enough, I never said SD wasn't one of the most talented teams in the league. Where did I say that, little one? Please don't cry because the so called pundits are often wrong. I mean.. where are all the 'Peyton is a choker' punks now? I know. They started whining about Eli, and now they are moving on to Romo. *shrug* But, that's ok. Stick your ehad in the ground. Keep calling players chokers, coaches crappy, and other nonsensical stuff, while claiming to 'know football'. HAHAHA!
-
"You should have quit while you were ahead. Eli is nothing, nothing at all like his brother. They'll never make it past Green Bay." "You must be on crack. Green Bay will waste Seattle. Same goes with Dallas vs teh lame Giants." L0LLIGAGZ!
-
I want the Giants to win obviously; but any 4 would make people cry and I like people to cry. Giants win - All thsoe people who claimed that Eli wans't good enough, he was a choke artist, couldn't win the big on, etc. would be embarrassed. Packers win - The 'Favre should retire' crowd would eat their words. San Diego - The whiners who wnated Norv Turner to be fired with SD had that bad start would be the jokes of the world. New England - The punk Miami guys who are still living in the past would have to sufferf the fact that someone one upped them, and those who felt Randy Moss would destroy NE with his so called 'bad attitude' would be made to look like fools. HAHAHAHA!!!
-
That article has to be a joke. That is all, and no further comment on it is to be.
-
Indy is the better team. SD played the better game. End of the story. Anyways, it don't matter. Eli is gonna join his brother as SUPER BOWL CHAMP! P.S. If we don't win the SB, I blame the head coach.
