  1. Kinda like lookin' in the mirror, right?
  2. "But we'll still end up with a game with some flaws that a lot of people will still actually ENJOY" U win. What's funny is the same thing happened pre DA release. A lot of epople were whining that DA was gonna fail, was gonna be BIO's worst game ever, was gonna doom DA to fail, was the fuirst sign of EA killing BIO, etc.,e tc. And, we know how that turned out. L0LZ Rinse and repeat. People will play DA2, and they will like it most likely. Then 3 months from now, those same people will bash it. Two eyars from now when DA3 is about to come out, people will praise DA2 as god's gift to gaminmg while crying that DA3 will destroy BIO. LMAO
  3. Yeah, instead of sending soldiers in secretly - reach out to the rebels diplomatically and in public. I know there's probably worry that Gaddafi will kill foreign soldiers onn sight but still be smart dude. the rebels are in a war, they don't have time to play nice with secret soldiers.
  4. "I've heard (not from EA at all, or even official Bioware statements, or even NON-Official Bioware statements) that Bioware DID say DA:O was the best selling game they ever had (which could be where the foreign markets come in) in the Summer of last year...but the US numbers don't seem to indicate that." Yeah, likely before ME2 was released/out for very long as well. L0LZ Or taken out of context. L0LZ "haha, c'mon, Volo. you can do better than that. fallout was designed that way, 10-minute speed runs aren't in any way representative of the game's length." hAHA, c'mon, Soro, you can do better than that. DA2 was designed that way, 23 hour speed runs weren't in any way representative of the game's length. Mores eriously, Fo was a short RPG. Period. 20-25 hours was it's more 'serious' length. It was short deal with it. And, it didn't hurt FO's quality. Length is pretty much irrelevant.
  5. "Back to DA2 though, seems like you can finish it pretty quickly: " *shrug* Tghat's true for pretty much every EVERY rpg ever. Heck, Fo can be betaen in less than an hour. EASY. Anyways, ME2 and DA have both sold over 3mil. Just a fact of life so get over it. "Baldur's Gate did not sell that well - in the beginning. BG2 did not either." yes. yes, they did. Did they sell DA/ME2 numbers/ No, but sales were a different beast back then when 1-2 mil copes = big success. Now, you likely need 2mil copies to be consiered one if not 3. Hek, JE sold 1.5-2mil copies but has no sequel yet even thoguh BIO had amde it clear theyw er einetrested in doing one but why do a JE for 2mil copies sold instead of a DA2 or ME3 for 3mil? Does. not. compute.
  6. Because of you, and your crying. P.S. the changes in DA2 from DA1 are pretty minimal for the most part. DA2 is DA1's sequel. It plays, acts, and reads like it.
  7. No. DA and ME2 are BIO's most successful games. Just deal with it.
  8. Costs, loosts, whatever word you lose it don't matter. DA more than covered itself and made a healthy profit unless there's soemthing we don't. It (along with ME2) are BIO's most successful games. It doesn't need DA2 to 'recoup' anything.
  9. Recoup 'losses'? DA was a success and made money. It recouped its own 'losses'.
  10. "Imagine if in baldurs gate you just fought tasloi and bandits the ENTIRE GODDAMN GAME. no one would have liked it, and yet bioware doesnt seem to notice that they forgot to make some enemy variety in DA so you don't want to stab yourself in the face every time the same little turd piles run up to you." This myth has already destroyed. Enemy variety in BG1 espicially and BG2 as well is not any more than it is in DA. " I thought BG2 had much darker themes and characters... " Wrong. "bio would benefit greatly if they woulds run some o' these ideas past Gromnir in the early stages o' development... save 'em much wasted effort." Nah. They already have your money and gaming time. Hence why your opinion is irrelevant to them. they don't need to sell grom as Grom has already been bought.
  11. "Overall it wasn't noticeably more difficult than normal. Just positioning, timing and cross class combos were more important and I had to pay more attention." From your description, that seems noticabley more difficult.
  12. "Hmm, wait, looks like Britain may go ahead with a no-fly zone without UN Security Council support. Good. Because let's face it, Russia and China shouldn't have a veto power on that council in the first place. They do not speak for the international community, and they certainly don't speak for Libya. The UN Security Council is a relic of long-dead wars which is barely fit for modern international relations. " yet, when the US does something the Unm vetoes - even if Europe agrees - Europeans cry about how the 'US is acting like the world' police. Very hypocritical.
  13. I don't beleive in man crushes, but if I ahd one, it would currently be Charlie Sheen. That guy is friggin'a wesome!
  14. "Seriously, though, the disconnect between DA:O's marketing and its content is probably a big reason why they had a not-insignificant number of people try the game who didn't expect" Only if you watch the 30 second commericals. The vast majority of marketing about DAO told everyone exactly what kind of game it would be (quality arguments notwithstanding). Afterall, even PST's pre release video packages didn't hint at a super dialogue heavy game either. It wa sheavy on showing off the combat. *shrug*
  15. "I don't like driving / racing games. If I quit Gran Turismo 120 after five minutes" If you don't like racing/driving games why the hell did you start playing one in the first place? L0L
  16. "actually, "to be fair," is a small box to be checked (not a shiny button) on the online tab o' the options menu if you wish to share data... and the box is checked as a default. naughty-naughty. lord knows we never knew the box were there until it were pointed out to us some number o' months after playing. am guessing that Gromnir were not the only person who failed to read all the options menu boxes. we looks for specific video, audio, and gameplay options rather than double-checking all such. HA! Good Fun!" As a lawyer, one would think you would be one of the last people to use ignorance as an excuse. P.S. Game companies would be better off the less they listen to the so called fans because the fans believe they are 'experts' and they are not. Just make the game the waay you want and if it is good and hyped enoguh it will be purchased. That worked with BG1, and a billion other games just fine.
  17. "would be nice if one of the pay channels did one though, HBO, Showtime shows are always way better than anything on TV." Um.. This is illogical since by definition pay channels are on tv...
  18. Nah. Both games had focus whetehr you liked said 'focus' or not.
  19. "Think the major story weakness of both DAO and ME2 is precisely this lack of a clear opponent, and looks like it's going to be the same thing again in DA2. Meh." Why does a game need one of these? It's silly to require a 'major vilalin' just ebcause. besdies, both DA1 and ME2 had that role filled to varying degrees anyways 9even if you think they were 'underdevelopeed or weak'). The archdemon in DA1 - even though it's not talkative - works perfectly in that role. Plus, you had The Betrayer. In ME2, you have Harbringer taunting your throughout as the 'main vilalin'. So both these games have main villains. I wish more games didn't have a main villain.
  20. YOU'LL NEVER BE BETTER THAN COMMANDER SHEPARD! 'Nough said. That's not gold, baby, that's mithril!
  21. "a dedicated archer is a liability to your party offering little in the way o' offensive or defensive support." No.
  22. Ex employees are poor sources hence the ex in the tag. Just like I hate the idea of references from 'ex employers'. There ex for a reason. LMAO
  23. "Problem with Quebec leaving is its the source of 80% of our national identity, history, and symbols. Canada without Quebec is not Canada." Disagreed. That's a Quebecer myth. Besdies, Quebec would always be a part of our history whether they left or not. That isn't an issue. Identity? If anything, Quebec is the antithesis of Kanada's reputaion. Even though I don't enccessarily agree with what the world believes, but our rep is of being a nicer, more peaceful, and relaxed version of the US. The quiet younger brother if you will (of coruse, the whole 'younger brother' things gives many a Kanadian major butthurt) who has less violence and not as messily intervering in the rest of the world thoguh we're swamped by US culture even if that makes us cry on one hand while we lap it up otherwise. Kanada without Quebec is still Kanada - just smaller since it's our second biggest province. We would still have a sizeable French minority as well so we wouldn't lose that either. And, we'd get rid of the shackles of some majorly bigotry. Our country is over 100+ years old yet Quebec still has a hard time remembering the value and goal of Kanada. If Quebec can't even respect the country its apart of... why is it still here? Oh yeah I know. Even if it left, Quebec would be heavily dependent on Kanada's goodwill. Quebec is maybe 10% of our antional idendity. If you had simply said French Kanada was a big part of our idenity, I'd agree... but Quebc as a province is so irrleveant other than they bring bigotry to an artfrom. They're still stuck in the old Europe way of thing that settlers brought with them - we're better than anyone different than we are. It's taen NA years to shed much of that kind of backwards thinking.. even Europe itself has largely turned its back on that.. but Quebec hasn't. P.S. QUEBEC RAGING was not my intention. L0LZ "Canada has a national identity ? Seems it's just beer, hockey and trying desperately to be different from the US " hey, you have to start somewhere...
  24. People have to realize that Quebec is one of the most bigoted places in the entire world, and I say this even though I'm French by blood. Quebec as a province (not neccessarily individual Quebecers) loathe anyone or anything different. It's also hypocritical as it goes on and on abotu the bigotry from other parts of Kanada despite the fact that other provinces bend over backwards for the French while Quebec does everything they can to make live as miserable as possible for non French speaking people. I really wish their vote to leave the country was a success. Finances stuff aside, Kanada would be better off without the Province of Governmental Sanctioned Bigotry.
  25. "I have never said that violent regime change is not effective (in general, and in reaching the goal of toppling the current government), only that the more violence you use, the more likely a backlash will be. Persons of violent ideals will always be the most violent rulers as well." Japan. Germany. United States. 'Nough said.
