Sounds good. Remember each character will only get three hundred and fifty points through leveling, and each skill can only go up to a hundred. Spears are good, but eventually I'd put at least thirty points into swords to get the skill Metal Slash. It can help to whomp those metal slimes. Ha, I went with scythes on my first play through. No, no extra program is necessary to use the console commands, it's done in the game; but I think perhaps you should download the character editor that Dark_Raven linked and try that instead.
