  1. Also, these forums get so boring when patches take too long to be released
  2. I think the issue that I was raising (fuzzy, blurry graphics) is different from the issue of the lower angle. You address the first issue nicely in your previous post with the IWD comparison. The lower angle obviously impacts visibility, but I don't think it's a showstopper. Then again, I haven't played the beta, so I can't be too sure here (but since it can't change anymore, no need to keep mentioning it forever)
  3. Is anyone else noticing by the weird graphics? I am aware it is a screenshot, but the character models are not precisely defined. For instance it's hard to tell apart the two models on the left. Where does the blue character end and where does the enemy behind him start? Everything looks very 'fuzzy'/blurry. Also the left character looks like he has a transparent left leg.
  4. Had the same reaction as you a few weeks ago. I don't follow gaming news a lot, and I also completely missed the Kickstarter. Anyway, welcome to the forums
  5. Damn city boys, don't know what a damn forrest is supposed to look like. I hope that PoE will have bigger maps for wilderness areas than what we have seen so far. Exploration was by far the the most exciting thing in BG for me. Sensuki, when you say you've had a look at a number of wilderness areas in PoE, you mean you somehow managed to unlock access to areas that are not supposed to be accessible in the BB?
  6. Well that's your opinion. I'm sure you're making it into a bigger issue than what it really is. Otherwise, well, too bad for you because I don't see that changing at this point in the development. I'll let you know once the mac build comes out.
  7. You have said this a lot on these forums already, but I really don't agree. Haven't played the game yet so I can't comment on the functional significance of the lower angle, but at least visually I think it looks great (if not better). Also Hiro, thanks for posting these screens. I hadn't imagined how BG would look so old in comparison.
  8. You're not that old !! I'm pretty sure lots of potters here are in the same age-range (I am just a couple years younger than you) I believe the official system requirements haven't been given yet. However I am pretty confident that PoE will not require a high-end gaming PC.
  9. (I've never played the beta but) That's also the impression I had by watching the gameplay videos. As an observer combat appeared particularly un-fun (as in, not fluid at all), and it was extremely hard to follow which player was inflicting what damage. Fair disclosure, the last game I played is Diablo 3 so it might explain why I was so shocked
  10. Not sure that's entirely fair. Yeah ultimately the decisions are in their hands, but that doesn't mean that we can't make them change their minds about something. They probably had their reasons not to implement Matt and Sensuki's attribute system. Now as to speculate what those reasons were...
  11. From what I've seen I'm really not that bothered by the camera angle. It's not THAT low either.
  12. Whiners be whining. EDIT: also, how is a post from the devs on the official forums NOT hearing from Obsidian directly? seriously guys...
  13. Male dwarves should have bigger heads than female dwarves More seriously though, big head tend to make models look like caricatures – less 'elegant'. Just my 2¢
  14. SUcks, now I'll have to buy a beta key !
  15. I don't think new gamers will stop at the fact that it's a 2D game. I mean look at the games in the tablet world, they're all mostly unimpressive compared to modern flagship console games. Yet it's still a very profitable market. There is definitely room for diversity in the gaming industry today. And don't forget that PoE will be playable on slightly older computers, which is a non-negligible aspect as well. At least I do not own a very powerful computer, so I'm happy that I'll actually be able to play this one !
  16. Personally, I'd like a 'receding hairline' cut.
  17. Either way, it would be really nice if we could position all the UI elements to our liking. After all it's a pretty standard feature in most modern OS (windows, osx and linux) to reposition the Dock/Taskbar to our liking on the desktop (left, right or bottom).
  18. Makes me wish the game was out already !
  19. @Sheikh +1 I'm hoping to play this on my 2011 macbook so I surely hope it will not be a resource hog as well
  20. ... YES ! It's not a simulation, so if designers decide that pedophile-looking dwarves look better, then they are perfectly allowed to have them! Or if obsidian decides than in their FANTASY world, female elves are taller than male elves, then so be it. Why so much mental rigidity? Because you have read a book (or ten) where elves look like this and dwarves look like that, doesn't mean that each and every fantasy book in history will have to follow these rules. What I mean is, if indeed it's not a bug an game designers wanted to create a race where females are taller than males, they're perfectly within their rights (in my book). +1
  21. Not true. I don't like this negative criticism and I am barely a casual player. Not even close to an Obsidian fan either. TBH I have never even played Wasteland or Fallout. I am here because I loved BG1 and 2 as a teenager, and was happy/intrigued when I heard of PoE. I what I have seen so far has made me very hopeful that we can finally get a decent game in the IE spirit. I think it has the potential to be an excellent game. And I couldn't care less whether anyone thinks the game should be qualified either Alpha or Beta stage. From what I've seen/read here the game has improved a lot over just 2 beta releases. Not sure about the 1,000,000 sales mark though, seems incredibly ambitious (to say the least).
  22. My initial answer is perfectly valid. There's so many things that are blatantly wrong in the current state of the game, and you complain about a race where females are taller than males, which IMO just serves to show your lack of imagination. Especially since that the game you're talking about takes place in a completely imaginary world... I just don't understand I guess.
  23. Seriously? Out of all the bugs and features of the game, THAT's what's bothering you?
