  1. I looked up this game it seemed like it might be a little fun, so I started the download. Then as I watched some videos of the gameplay, I remembered that if I ended up liking it a fair bit, I'd be very likely to spend $200+ on those Kill Coins because one, I'd probably die a lot before too long and two, I like storage space. So I canceled the download. It does look like fun however - I liked the narrator guy as well. Man I spent so much money on Path of Exile's storage system. So much money. And every time I fire that game up again it just makes me want to buy even MORE storage space. *runs away from games that let you purchase extra storage*
  2. OMG - 25 seconds in, I'm dying here. ...I'm a little unclear what this means in reality tho. A purely joke skill SE put in as a homage to the recipah meme? A real skill so you can cook mid-battle for a buff? (Running out of stamnia mid-fight? Chicken soup to the rescue!) ...but I don't care, it's hysterical.
  3. Cause it's still one of my fave anime films. And because I'm still waiting for the DLC.
  4. Minesweeper is better.
  5. I was wondering if someone who hadn't read the books would enjoy it more as a "it's just a surreal supernatural-western with neat imagery" movie or something. eg, hard to miss details that I don't know exist in the first place. But are you saying the movie wouldn't make any sense at all without foreknowledge? eg, sometimes a movie doesn't need to make a ton of sense to be entertaining on some level but it can go too far in that direction. I keep thinking about renting it just to "see" for myself but haven't mustered up the motivation yet. I recall trying to read the first book ages ago but never finished/got into it and haven't tried since.
  6. Don't go knockin' the kewl day-glo kitty-fashion.
  7. Watched Twitch folk play the Monster Hunt World beta. After playing Comrades, I may buy this game, looks kinda fun and looks great. Never played any of the previous Monster Hunters. AND, I think if you play single-player you get an anthropomorphic sentient cat companion, which of course, major bonus points.
  8. ^ Want to add that such sliders wouldn't work for every single game in existence. Just that it (seems) to be a simple solution for action/combat heavy games and/or general audience use. There is always room for games that are supposed to be very hard by design/choice, or very relaxing layabouts, for example. But if every game was like Dark Souls or some mobile-web-toon game I would never buy another game.
  9. Difficulty settings seem really hard to balance out for broad audiences, without the use of individual mods for individual tastes. I've seen lots of discussions on difficulty and "how to" do them but none of them sound very good for wide audience utility or even implementation. Most of the time suggestions are somewhat to very niche, as well, if that makes sense. Bullet sponges/player damage reduction - some types of grinders don't mind them very much, others hate them with a passion. I'm kind of in the middle - depends very much on the type of game and how much sponge the result really is. What I've come to dislike is when there is a dodge mechanic but the enemies don't have any "tells" or the tells are so short they may as well not exist anyway. I think game dev's should always include some basic sliders and a few checkboxes that relate to difficulty. There would be a single default position for all of them, of course (Normal), but instead of Easy/Hard/Insane etc you'd instead mix/match those sliders to where you want them. Enemy Dmg, Enemy Health, Player Dmg/Health, Friendly Fire/Not, and so on. I see plenty of games do this in some form so even that basic level of customization doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to implement.
  10. I may have mentioned it before long time ago or something but I was thinking about a book series today and upon 'net searching, learned the author had died in 2009 (only 57). That makes me sad. Anyway, it was her Indigo series. 8 novels (fairly short, 270-300ish pages IIRC). It's odd because while I wouldn't say it was a favorite series, there was still something about it that had me reading the first 6 in less than 24 hours - I had to wait for the last two. I also read her Time Master Trilogy, which I liked quite a lot as well. Never read anything else of hers, I should remedy that.
  11. My favorite part of Into Darkness was the whole 'It's not Khan! Really, it's not Khan!" statements beforehand then "Haha, just kidding, you were right, it's Khan." Also, Quinto-Spock screaming like that. Didn't work for me. No, just no.
  12. So TV I bought, it came with these weak-ass tiny plastic "feet" for a stand. That sorta thing shouldn't be allowed. >.> Very wobbly/unsafe. Bought a new stand. Best stand ever and only $41. Altho it adds quite a bit of weight (18 lbs?) because it's "universal" and meant for up to 65" with the base being heavy glass and fairly deep. Still...it swivels nicely and can slide side to side horizontally. I can angle for playing/sitting at desk and easily swivel it back for distance sitting, plus the horizontal slide is handy, like if you temp. want more desk work space or want to sit in a corner and still have it more centered. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018I1XTFU/ref=twister_B01COJRYU8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 ...I only need 3 monitors if I Twitch, and don't think I'll be doing that much anymore so just two for now. One of these days I really am going to create my perfect "space" for this kind of thing. I could get quite obsessed with it...but room would need complete overhaul.
  13. That could also be ... interesting. Or extremely disappointing, depending. But it might be the one thing that would make me rent it.
  14. Well I'll say this ... Tarantino and Star Trek chould at least be ... interesting. I gave up on Star Trek anything. I mean I found the first two reboots to be watchable popcorn action fare (and fangirl-ing over Cumberbatch even as I disliked the retelling of Khan - super blood, hahah) but I didn't bother seeing the 3rd one (haven't seen the CBS Now series either). That 3rd reboot was the very first time I haven't seen a ST film in the theater since the original cast Motion Picture. Likely won't see this Tarantino version. That said - at the very end of the 2nd reboot, did anyone else immediately think of Princess Bride and the "he's only mostly dead" scene?
  15. 7 Days to Die on console - lol I so suck at using controllers. I mean, I became decent/ok with the pc-xbox controller and Borderlands series, but that was a pretty simple scheme with few things to remember. 7 Days it would take me weeks to get any good with combat, considering the plethora of controls for combat and general interface. Half the time I'd probably accidentally drop my weapon or drink a bottle of water instead of hitting something and strafing. Good thing I only care about building/exploring for the console version. :D
  16. Screw it, rebuying 7 Days and Borderlands 2 bundle for PS4. Just need something else for those homebody days. Started to download BL2 and holy moly, 7-9 hours for 28GB that should take less than 2 hours (not sure, maybe 1.5 hours?). Proving that Comcast throttles the heck out of that connection at prime time (it's 7pm here). Either that or PSN is just sooooper clogged. Even browsing the Store was a lagfest. Either way, that's why I won't be subscribing/buying any PS-Now games. I'd like to try out the split screen of BL2 with hubby too, assuming it works. We wouldn't like the squished views but eh, maybe it'll be ok/it's something.
  17. On hindsight, and more seriously, what I really need is a barber type chair. If you look at, say, DXRacers "gaming chair" site, every one of their chairs is supposedly ergonomically designed for quite tall people. 5' 5" seems their minimum from reading forum posts, and that's not even listed on their actual guide page. https://www.dxracer.com/us/en-us/pages/choosedxracer/ Since I'm 4' 10.5" tall (or approx. 1.48/1.49?) meters for you metric people)...last thing I want is "ergonomic designs" jutting me in all the wrong places. Barber chair, on the other hand, simpler, with a built in foot rest so my feet don't dangle uselessly/painfully off the floor at common US desk height. :/ But I'm not sure many have adjustable armrests, which is another sizing problem with most chairs, for me. They might also be a little too wide/deep. And expensive. So annoying when all you want is a decent farking desk/gaming chair that doesn't make your back/neck/arthritic knees ache in pain just from regular use of an hour or three per day. Console gaming and staying on the bed/couch is looking better and better all the time. If only there were more games I like on console.
  18. So if I bought a really comfy, enfolding recliner** and put 43" and 40" TV's on the sides of my wide desk, angled, with the 27" pc monitor in the middle, and used the 43" 4k tv for gaming/movies and the other two for other PC tasks...cordless KB/mouse included ofc...would that be too much? No? Ok, Imma gonna work on that then. Just need the chair.* ---------- *Hubby's reaction to this idea: "I'll never see you again." ---------- **Like this thing:
  19. Is it wrong that I feel like buying 7 days to die on ps4 when I already have it on pc? Building with zombies off as a break between ffxv sessions sounds good. Yet I hesitate to give Fun pimps more money when I feel like the game will always be "early access."
  20. So if I purchase a game via main psn account on my Pro, and the PS4-Slim still has all the info on it from before I transferred it all to the new unit, can I download the game on the Slim so hubby can play it there, under one of the other created users (eg, user 2) I made a while back, without it creating some kind of account/multiple box confusion? If that makes sense.
  21. Beg, Deadeye, that's a good boy. Who knew this was a pet training simulator. It happens.
  22. And I know the electric violin lady's version was posted, but for that song I tend to prefer the vocal ones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq73h6XZQGA (yeah I like Penatonix...they have a lot of great modern harmonizing song versions)
  23. Or if you prefer traditional: edit: can't spell
