Weapon request
LadyCrimson replied to Serrano's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I don't care too much about having such a weapon in a game (not that it wouldn't be weirdly cool), but I had to drop in and say thanks a lot for posting a video link that ended up with me wasting spending all evening watching that guy's videos. -
Agree. If I'm going to play an MMO where that's just the game genre, that's one thing. If it's supposed to be a single-player game, always-online is a no-buy. I shouldn't have to be always-online for SP, which maybe I want to play on a laptop or when the internet has gone out or whatever else. And if the always-online is simply because they want to make sure you can always buy their microtransactions or get "important announcements" (for a SP game...), pffft. If I want to buy mcrot's I'll go online when and if I'm ready to spend.

Day After Tomorrow has arrived?

Speaking of anime, I noticed they decided to make an updated version of Fruits Basket (an anime I have a physical copy of). Different voice actors, updated animation (the original was in 4:3). I watched the first episode ... I think I like the original better (the animation feels a bit "warmer" to me) but they did a good job on this remake, voices (Japanese ones) are all fine etc. I don't really see the need for it, but it's still a charming show so why not I guess?

^ I don't even like thinking about our (self-employment) taxes anymore. The check we write keeps getting bigger and bigger, although we have reached the max for certain increase potentials so we expect it to slow down. At least we don't have any inheritance tax, that's mine, all mine. Take that IRS/SS. Also: when you know it's a SSD but your mouse finger still starts to twitch and itch when you see this, because, decades of HDD "training":

I'm so "bored" I almost feel like creating a new domain/website for uploading videos, partly because I'm sick of Youtube (in terms of uploading, vs. just watching). Which might be cool until some company sues me for copyright infringement for using 20 seconds of some song in a 5 minute video. ...maybe I'll get some music mixer software.

Not a game, but I bought it via Steam so - Wallpaper Engine. It's interesting to be able to turn brief game video clips into actual animated desktop wallpapers, but not sure I love the program itself. Wondering if there's anything better than Wallpaper Engine for creating/using such. I don't need Steam/workshop attachment, in other words. I just want to make my own.

I still haven't seen Cowboy Bebop. "Everyone" says I should since I loved Samurai Champloo but the 1st episode doesn't click with me and I've never forced myself to go farther to try to get it to grow on me, yet.

I have a lot of free time. I have a new PC. I have money. What I don't have is a lot of developers/publishers who create games I care to play. (...also lacking brain-motivation to learn a new hobby) I did run across a Jeff Goldblum shower curtain however. Which is hilarious and creepy at the same time. Especially with the description "Soft and Comfortable Handing Feeling." https://www.amazon.com/TalentHover-Goldblum-Curtain-Waterproof-Curtains/dp/B07Q5CW19T/

Ultraman - finished it. My overall take on this new series is that it should have been called "UltraBoy." It's basically an origin story for Son of Ultraman. Where the boy spends most of the series being a rather angsty teenager (the 'needs to grow up' tropes), which is rather annoying. The first subplot re: some teen girl pop singer in danger might work for teens and I'd guess it's a humanizing (vs. violence of superheros) device but doesn't work for me. At times it feels like a strange cross between Ironman and Men In Black (not humorously). That said, there are elements that did work, like the Moroboshi chr., the one-eye alien (I find myself curious if he has any hidden long term agendas), a couple other chrs. Once you get past Episode 8 or so, there's a new subplot that works a lot better with new chrs introduced and makes you see possibilities for a season 2. P.S. I watched in Japanese/subbed.

Heard about a new Ultraman animated series on Netflix. First episode I was all "what? who? this doesn't feel like Ultraman" - not that I know much about Ultraman beyond the 1960's, poorly dubbed, men-in-rubber-suits live action version the US played way back when. By the end of the 2nd episode with all the intro stuff out of the way, I was kind of liking it as its own thing. We'll see. Still doesn't beat people in rubber suits, however. Now that's entertainment.

BL3 - well at least it seems like LAN is included. Don't care about these types of micro transactions since one can just not buy, like I don't have to buy orbs/anything else in DMC5 just to play/finish it. I read that the Steam version of BL1 removed LAN (disc version had it) which sucks. But in that case you used to be able to run more than one instance of the game on the same PC (I did that to self-mule all the time) and I suppose they were too lazy to make it not work that way and removed it entirely for Steam.

I like gas rangetops but prefer electric ovens. Haven't had/tried any of the home convection type ovens tho.

CBS Now put up the first episode of their new Twilight Zone on YouTube for free. I watched it. Good production values, but zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I think they should have stuck with keeping episodes shorter. Even the original TZ's one hour episodes weren't generally all that great. Maybe they could have made them 40 minutes - an hour is too long. I was half-tempted to sub to them just to watch the series but based on that first episode, I think I'll continue to skip.

Did Joaquin Phoenix lose tons of weight for the role or is that CGI. His face is absolutely gaunt. Looking up Todd Phillips the only thing I can say about his filmography is that I found the first Hangover somewhat amusing. Didn't watch/care to see the sequels. Also, I watched The Highway Men (Netflix). Considering the two stars and topic matter, it's not all that interesting. Kevin and Woody do fine as always and bounce well off each other, but I found myself falling asleep in the middle. It's mostly a slow chr. study of Frank Hamer I suppose.

At least the BL3 "exclusive" is only 6 months or so. Maybe by then most of the DLC will be out and hubby and I can play it in one shot so to speak, anyway. If it even has LAN. I hope it has LAN. If BL3 does away with LAN, no buy. Still, the way things are going, looks like 2019 to mid-2020 is going to be pretty much zero "AAA" gaming. Not that I buy many AAA games anyway.

Different topic, different post: Today I realized my pc ram was running at 2133 or some such, not 3200. So I looked into that and discovered 3200 ram doesn't run 3200 by default and it's technically overclocking the RAM to get it. Which made me feel really stupid. Also, I'd like to harass hubby for not telling me. So I changed the automatic profile setting in BIOS like everything says to do. Seems to work, no crashes or problems. The few games I have installed - I think I see maybe a 10fps difference on average, which makes me wonder what the heck is the big deal about "faster" ram (at least for gaming). Oh well, I guess it'll make a difference down the road where 10fps might mean the difference between solid 60fps or dipping below. I wonder if it's better to just leave it at that stock speed if everything is running ok, tho. Still if you do that then you feel gyped re: what you paid for. Pfft.

It varies. Some houses are all electric, some all gas, some a combo. I'd guess the older the house the more likely it's going to be gas, but depends on the builder - or any upgrades a homeowner has done. We have gas range/oven but it's also wired for electric back there so we could do either. Dryer is electric. Gas wall heater. etc.

Pictures of your Games 11 - The Quickening

This is just to say .... no more stupid Photo Mode camera/angle restrictions! Need to get to Dante now. I mean I like the panther and V's goth stances and slick animations but need a new subject. Still, that panther. -
We had to downsize when we moved 9-10 years ago too, although not as much as you. I think it might've only been 250sq. feet less. It felt like more tho. The kitchen is much smaller, only one "living room" type space instead of two, 1 car garage instead of 2 car, and one bathroom instead of two. We have no children but hubby has his work/pc/server room+garage takeover and I have my ... er ... "woman's cave" pc/game room ... so we take up all bedrooms regardless. The worst thing is lack of storage space, mostly. I don't buy in bulk as much as I used to because of that. No room to put 6 months worth of toilet paper, paper towels or spare boxes or whatever else.

The Dead Don't Die trailer is awesome/hilarious, thanks for posting. I hope the movie lives up to it.
