  1. I am V, The Immortal. ...thanks, hex editing. Now I can rush the main plot and just take goofy pictures whenever.
  2. Anyone care to tell me approx. "how long" it takes before the whole city opens up (outside of typical blocked off dungeons/quest areas ofc), main story wise? eg, if you only do the main questline. Sidenote: this doesn't really feel like a game where running around on foot, outside of a few obvious places, is the best thing to do, immersion wise. You start noticing way too many weird AI, graphic, and "busy city" background scripting things that completely break immersion. Like the traffic headlights that appear and stop then disappear at the same spot on the freeway (they never get closer) or cars stopping/piling up in the middle of the freeway because they're obviously not scripted to go any farther but can't disappear while you're staring at them. One time I walked down a street, saw a filler NPC walking by, turned a corner and the exact same filler NPC was walking towards me again. The overall illusion of a busy city is good as long as you aren't paying close attention, but the AI/pathing/scripting of background is quite terrible.
  3. Nicolas Cage seems to be making a ton of bad movies again. Not that he ever stopped, but it's breakneck speed lately is all I'm saying. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not just quick-cash but maybe he's simply an obsessive workaholic? I was usually willing to watch most of his bad films but the last two I tried were so awful (outside of Cage himself) I had to turn them off after 30 minutes.
  4. Amazon-rented "Love and Monsters." Kind of a tongue in cheek young adult/family-film survival in a post-apoc world of mutated animal dangers where humans are largely living in bunkers. Takes a little while to get going but after the 25-30 minute mark and the main character ventures outside, it's quite cute and entertaining, better than I expected really. The scenes with Michael Rooker were especially fun. Also, super-cute best dog chr.
  5. I'm finding the early (and I do mean early) part of the game a bit too much of information overload. I know, it's sad, I'm going senile or something - it's a little more than I want to "think" about it most of the time these days. Maybe I'll get an invulnerable hex edit and just punch my way around. Does anyone know what those QT-like dialogue bit moments are for? I've been assuming depending on ones you choose some outcomes, npc attitudes would be different? Sometimes I miss the timing and just end up with default silence. Makes me want to reload all the time to try each one. I find this game to be almost as bad as Death Stranding - it makes so many auto-saves (every 10 minutes?) and I'm constantly deleting a dozen or two at a time. I much prefer making my own saves.
  6. I was showing hubby the game a bit and ran around randomly punching people. People standing distantly 150 meters away from me ran down stairs to flee, then stopped 20 feet from my position and did the cower position. So I punched them some more. Stupid people. Now I'm a wanted woman, apparently. Good to know.
  7. Tried to swim across a river. Game wouldn't let me - at least not yet.
  8. I stuck with Steam for this one because I really wanted to use the ps4 controller and my past experience re: GoG was that on average, they're a lot slower with patches. What do you mean by patch issues tho? Installation/download problems?
  9. I think games like Cyberpunk I'd have more fun with and be more motivated, in a way, if my (very funny, to me) husband was watching and doing commentary as I went. Maybe I can tie him to a chair this weekend...
  10. Sometimes, that's not a glitch, that's just real life. *...scurries away*
  11. My answer to this is always "define halfway decently" for you. For me, at least, this is one of those games that runs ok even down towards 30fps, although minimally, imo 40-50fps is a far better/smoother experience so you don't dip below 30 in some spots. I'd guess 980 would be a mix of Low and Medium at 1080, some things off, depending on your tolerance levels. If you're wondering what pre-set "Low/1080" on PC looks like, something like this (first segment:
  12. My black "cat" was lonely.
  13. Well, I'm not expecting a finished, all patched version soon. Just maybe another round of most reported bugs. That kind of thing.
  14. Think I've decided I'll wait a week for more patches before going very far plot-wise into this game. I don't mind the performance I'm getting but if there's more quest bugs or something .... I can wait a bit.
  15. 1.4GB patch (well, that's what size it was for me on Steam anyway .... ) https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/37043/hotfix-1-04 Installed and opened game. I don't notice any real difference FPS wise, but I wasn't having huge issues in the first place. Maybe, emphasis on maybe, FPS was a little higher/more stable when I turned RT reflections back on w/everything else still being High/Ultra etc. But some say it's better on their older cards. Who knows. Edit: not that performance was the patch main stuff.
  16. I chose female largely because from videos, I didn't like the male's VA all that much.
  17. Kimchi quest? +1. Also, cat, ofc. +1 Nice use of DoF.
  18. I suppose that's fairly interesting in a technical sense but it doesn't mean much re: visual eyeballing. I was noticing today that the draw distance for some environment details is very short. Either that or glitchy. Say, the large garbage bins (1st no lids on them, lids appear, more trash around bin appears) You can see it changing/pop-in as you walk up to something. So distracting. I didn't notice any pop-in until the main city. Yes I'm whinging about inconsequential stuff most ppl don't care about, I'll stop now. Maybe I just need another nap.
  19. Btw, if you're unaware, disabling windows "full screen optimizations" for the game's exe might gain you 5-10 fps. Or it might do absolutely nothing. But it's a simple thing to try, for any game. steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe r-click, properties, compatibility.
  20. Found some glasses and a long coat. Score! I'm starting to look kewl now, which of course is 100% the most vital thing in an RPG. One man's trash.... Edit: I've left Jackie waiting in some spot, again. Poor guy. At least he's patient.
  21. This is a strange "complaint" - and a very minor one - but I'm barely into the game proper and I'm already really tired of seeing the same graphical mound of garbage bags, cans, bottles, desks, shelves, billboards and other things 10000 times. It makes wandering around very same-y. Yes, this happens in all games but ... perhaps that's one reason I don't tend to like urban, office, indoor settings. It's less bothersome when it's duplicate trees/bushes/rocks vs. stuff that fills city streets to make things feel more busy.
  22. Glad you're back and doing ok, GD! ...as sort of expected once I hit the urban city of Cyberpunk I'm slowly losing interest - when I play it it's fine but when I stop I don't feel like rushing back to it. Spent most of the afternoon/evening catching up on some silly little k-dramas. Winter and feel like couch-slouching and not thinking.
  23. V has an ... interesting ... apartment. Also, apparently wandering dirty city streets makes me feel mean because when I saw these two hanging out, I really wanted to give them a push. Sadly the game doesn't allow it.
  24. Well I reached "the city" and can wander around. I've turned off all RT for 50-60fps instead - I did sorta like the puddle/ground reflections but that was about it. V doesn't even have a passing-by window reflection normally. Not worth it vs. higher other settings. Not enjoying the colors of a lot of the daytime streets. I prefer the dark rainy night. --Thing I like: the wandering around, picking things up, lots of corners to explore, etc. Also, so many things to read and watch initially. I spent 7-10 minutes standing in an elevator just to watch all the commercials and news vids playing on-screen inside it. Some of the lore recordings are hard to spot/find. --Thing I find weird for an RPG: I feel like I'm stealing stuff from under people's noses. Most of it is junk, mind, but point is - suitcase by a man on a bench? Open it and take the loot, they apparently don't care. --I'm unmotivated by side quests as they sometimes trigger just from me running by.
  25. Btw, what general type of settings are you playing with? Most of the closer-ups in-game scene bits look great in screenies but it's other "stuff" that can look a bit ... fuzzy. Especially distance and lighting.
