  1. Don't you worry I'm only here untill the end of the weekend. pet peeve
  2. What makes you think I would lie.... I had 2 near death experiences during the war, the first was when I was 5 years old.....when my mother woke me up all of a sudden at about five or six o'clock in the morning, I could hear the sirens going off warning of an attack, then while I was dressing I could hear the planes, MIGs droping their payloads....by then my mother and I were running to the bomb shelter, I could see the planes, hear all the small arms fire in the distance but then on our way to the shelter artillery shells started to fall - that's when it happened - about 20 to 30 metres away a single artillery round hit a near by house blowing it up, but the thing is, the worst thing isn't the pressure that knocks you to the ground but the pieces of the house flying all around you - I think 1 or 2 ppl died from that blast by debree. Luckily me and my mom got away with bruses and a temporary hearing problems :D ......I remember I cried, but the thing is I'll never forget one boy in the bomb shelter that was so terryfied and in shock that his hair was completley white/gray. The second incident was a year or two later when the city was 'relativley' safe... (warning don't read if you like dogs " )... BTW - the only solid thing left from the dog was his jaw ... Edit: added spoiler tags around offensive material.
  3. Yeah but do specific experiences from wartime count?
  4. Does wartime experience count?
  5. Glad you're OK Ros and watch it because you maybe won't be so lucky next time, I remember I almost lost my left leg in a snowboarding accident....
  6. ^And why the hell don't you go do something else more constructive rather then picking on Hades in a double post, one word - pathetic....cool off mister......
  7. There won't be peace because US geopolitical and economic interests strech far and deep into the ME, plus the fact a vital part of US economy today is the military industrial complex which made the US economy a system whose survival depends on a state of constant war - therefor as long as the US exists in such form there will never be peace of any kind, not now, not ever. Farewell and goodbye.
  8. Here's what I listen when I'm in a mood for sad, melanconic and yet beautiful music: Hildegard von Bingen: Favus distilans - nothing else can calm me down like her music J.S. Bach:St Matthew Passion, BWV244 & BMV140 - spiritual, I only like it preformed in German, the essence gets lost when performed in English. A.Vivaldi: Four seasons - Autumn & Winter - I like them best preformed in E-dur... W.A. Mozart: Nachtmusik - especially part 2 Romanze - Andante , one of the best compositions in classical music ever W.A. Mozart: Requiem - especially Kyrie - it's sad but yet so powerful, one of my favourite V. Bellini: Norma; Casta Diva - very melanconic, excellent vocal ornamentation G.Donizetti: Lucia di Lammermoor - masterpiece, one of my favourite operas R.Wagner: Tristan & Isolda - don't listen to this if you're sucidial , actually I would recommend this only for die hard Wagner fans - not my preference G.Puccini: Tosca; E lucevan le stelle - Cavaradossi's Act III aria - best opera ever in my opinion. L. van Beethoven: moonlight sonata - a must R.Schumann: In the Wonderful Month of May and his other similar compositions - nothing brings back my childhood memories like his music ^_^ That's it, I listen mostly classical music but I hope this will help
  9. The actor Christopher Lee said he reads LotR every year. I remember him saying that in one of the interviews in the LotR movie disks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you trying to say that ast0creep is in fact Christopher Lee....? I think we need a PI to solve this......mister Gutman where are you? "
  10. Eugene Jarecki: Why we fight I wonder why I like this movie.... " It's being released aftertomorrow in the US, you should see it.
  11. Haven't seen the new one, the 4th for me had too much action and they really over did it with terrorist wannabe attacks....
  12. Man in Russia you can do/buy anything if you have tons of money to spend....
  13. 24 was/is one of my favourite series ever, it tops all other series in its category by far....I agree that no one could take so much stress as Jack did time after time, but then again 24 is Jack Bauer - without him it wouldn't be the same.
  14. [Hardcore British accent] Cheery 'o mate [/Hardcore British accent]
  15. The Greatest Games of All Time and my favourite by far
  16. Doesn't have to be, they only need to find the real balance between a good RPG and the SW atmosphere. only -
  17. No disrespect to all Britons here, but I am sick and tired of playing with US and especially British sides in WW2 FPSs - I'm sick and tired listening to friendy combatants around me always throwing comments like - will do, cheery 'o, right 'o and with those hard British accents - fa fa fa fa fa fa........ooooh put a sock in it for crying out loud, always the same BS.
  18. My view is that Swinny's idea was the best, maybe best isn't the right choice of word, but his idea somehow had the best 'star wars feeling' in it, the 'feeling' K2 missed very very much
  19. Did play it, was interesting ,not bad even fresh somehow, but we had too many ww2 games than, maybe in 2 years a second episode could do the trick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah it was pretty good and yes, there were far too many WW2 games for it to get the proper attention it deserved, it was somewhat fresh new and interesting compared to all the WW2 titles, but on the other hand - mooooorrrrbiiiid
  20. I know this isn't appropriate to the topic, but has anyone here ever played a game that was out a few years ago - called Iron Storm - that fictional FPS where it's the year 1964 and WW1 is still being waged....everything was pretty much OK with it but it was so frikin morbid, especially the whole atmosphere in the game, I would love to elaborate more but in fact I didn't even finish the game to the end and I certainly don't qualify as some scardy cat but this game just hit me right in the nerve. Too damn creepy and morbid - anyone played it?
