  1. I'm guessing it can go either 3 ways. The outcome of the fight is randomized by some sort of roll. The love interest with the most influence wins. (My preferred choice, probably most people's). or, The love interest with the LEAST influence wins. (Eek I hope that wont be the case! Wouldn't that be a tragic little twist! Whoever you care about the most ends up being doomed!) I am glad that even though much of this content is available for anyone to disect, I am still in the dark about some of the outcomes. It will be that much more fun to experience this for the first time.
  2. His name is only mentioned once and only if you are playing a male exile. That and a bit of confusion might be added because there is a character in KoTOR 1 named Mical. Spelling may be different but same pronounciation. That guy who asks you what he should do with the failure initiates at the space port on Korriban, as well as one of the hopefuls you compete against later.
  3. Hmm, maybe they both off each other at the same time? Or perhaps you can somehow intervene? Can't wait to find out! I know if I have any say in the outcome the Handmaiden will always be the victor. :D
  4. Just completed the atmospheric sensors quest to check and see if Kreia gives a bonus to quest related XP and she does! Cool. This isn't a definitive test that means that EVERY quest will give a scaled reward with Kreia in it, but it is a good sign. The XP reward was 250. Saving before giving the sensors back to the guy looking for them near the speeder, I spoke to him with and without Kreia in the party. Last 3 digits of my xp before recieving xp reward = 730 Quest reward on char sheet without Kreia came to 980 With Kreia it came to 998, an 18 xp bonus to the standard 250 reward.
  5. Kreia has a feat (you can look it up under her list of feats) called "Mentor". What this does is at level one she gives a bonus of 3% to your earned experience. At level 7 a bonus of 5% and at level 13 a bonus of 7%. Example: Say you defeat an enemy worth 100 experience points without Kreia in the party. Everyone in your current party gains 100 experience. However, if Kreia is in the party and is at level 7 you would gain 105 experience points (Bonus 5 percent to earned experience). Note that it will NOT show this bonus xp when it pops up after a kill. For instance, I just tested this system on Dantooine with a Kinrath. The pop up XP said 200 xp wether I killed it with Kreia or not. HOWEVER, I checked the XP on the character sheet before and after killing the Kinrath with and without Kreia. The last 3 digits of my XP before the kill was 655. After the kill it was 855 WITHOUT Kreia (200 xp for the kill to all in the party). However reloading and placing Kreia in the party it went from 655 to 870 (She was well above 13th level so I got, roughly, a 7% bonus to the xp for the kill. 855 to 870 is an increase of 15, and 15 is roughly 7 percent of a 200 xp reward, so the system works. Sorry if it sounds like I'm somehow talking down to anyone, just going over it myself and sharing my findings to make sure it works as I've never really checked). That may not seem like much but with all the battles in the game the bonuses that Kreia gives add up over time. The one thing I am unsure of is if this bonus to XP also applies to Quest rewards. Now that would REALLY be handy considering some of the massive quest xp bonuses you get. :D
  6. Reply Would you care to elaborate on the problem? I don't actually understand what is wrong . And seeing as how I just posted Vash's fate over at Team Gizka: Err... I was just asking about how the foggy sections of the planet will be handled... not one peep about Vash. I.E. will the fog remain in the sections or will you guys be lightening it up to add a sky line? When you first land on the platform you can clearly see a skyline, but much of the city is densely fogged, I'm guessing thanks to the radiation/poison. Once the radiation/poison is cleansed how will the skyline be changed if at all?
  7. I know in my case it's not disinterest, its just that we know this will be released AFTER TSLRP so more focus is going to be on that until it finishes at which point I'm betting everyone will pack their bags and head over here to find out how this is coming along. That and, as another said, can't really think of much to ask at the moment. Especially since all of the interesting questions are ones you are keeping secret! Though I do wonder what will be done about the sky. In some sections you can see a skyline and others the sky is colored out from gas/smog in the sky. Will that remain the same in the finished mod or will each section have a skyline?
  8. I also couldn't bring myself to hate her. One thing I liked about her character, was that she wasn't a 'muahaha blow up the universe or take it over' villain, but instead a person who wanted to destroy the force, putting people on equal terms. No more force users that threaten to dominate the galaxy for either the cause of dark or light. My only disapointment was the forced battle at the end. Option 1: "I don't want to fight!" "Too bad! Here come the force swords!" Option 2: "I'm going to kill you!" "You wont take me without a fight! Here come the force swords!"
  9. Even as a CGI part it looks well on par with the CGI currently in the KoTOR games if not better. If it ends up looking as good in motion... those of us waiting for M4-78 will be quite :D
  10. Wow! Please tell me that is an actual in-game screenshot and not a cgi/loading screen image. It looks fantastic!
  11. You may have already done this, but have you updated your graphics card drivers? I used to have an ATI card and I had a number of problems with the KoTOR series until I switched to NVidia. You may actually want to try OLDER drivers if you have updated. I remember going back quite a driver versions to find one that worked. Sorry about the problem and not being much more help... good luck though.
  12. Yeah, that made absolutly no sense to me. Ebon Hawk goes falling into a deep crevice, then a hour later you're flying it off planet.
  13. http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.c...II/Patches;5552 You can get the movie upgrade patch in 4 seperate downloads. It's a pretty honking download size, so I hope you have a fast connection. Theres also a music patch to increase the quality. Makes a decent improvement. It's funny, I believe these were official patches by Obsidian/Lucasarts, however it seems like these patches are difficult to find. I don't even remember any sort of announcement, just checked out some web sites where they listed latest mods/patches and there they were.
  14. I've never seen lines 30, 90 or 91. I guess the quest is missing some sort of trigger or something. I wonder if someone can fix it with a mod. I've always hated incompletable quests, even minor ones.
  15. Same here. Just avoid carrying your lightsaber and convince anyone, non-hostile like for LS, that you are not a Jedi. Eventually the truth about your exile comes out and I think the quest was eventually put in the complete quest list because of hiding it for as long as possible. The quest, if activated by you by carrying your light saber or admitting to being a (former) jedi, appears to be broken. Either that or we just didn't look hard enough or something. You can aslo get influence for Kreia, and I think Atton if you talk to the mechanic near the Ebon Hawk, which requires that you not carry your lightsaber, and if he hears you talking to the droid, convince him he heard wrong.
  16. I tried going through the levels as well, and to my surprise I'm more excited about the restoration mod and droid planet than ever. It's an even bigger disapointment that Obsidian Ent. didn't/couldn't finish the sub plot with HK-47 and the factory considering it looks like it is practically finished. M4-78, on the other hand, looks like it will need a lot of work to complete. I think this was asked before, but does anyone know what the purpose of the sharks are in the bases, especially the Firaxan shark? Either the droids/sith are using animals for some sort of bio computer, or they are simply place holder models? "We don't have the fancy computer model in yet, so just stick a shark there". Also, is there any 'noclip' type cheat for KoTOR 2. M4-78 is loaded with energy field doors that are impossible to open. I'm guessing the terminals would be used to open them, but every time I try to use one nothing happens. It's funny, the early droids were a cake walk, but the industrial droids in 804DRO gave me a run for my money. I eventually cheated to give myself a few extra levels.
  17. I've played KoTOR 1 a number of times, more than 3, and every time I finished between 39-45 hours. This was doing every quest etc. I've played KoTOR 2 about 4 times, and every time it has taken me roughly 38-40 hours. KoTOR 1 seemed to be a bit longer, but not by much. It will be interesting to see how much longer KoTOR 2 takes to beat once the restoration project and M4-78 are finished. I'm rather surprised people managed to finish both games so quickly at 20 hours. I'm guessing because I take my time to talk to everyone, upgrade my equipment, sell unnecessary items etc.
  18. "I know English is better, but if u have the Tweelik Language, then you can just copy that from the generic files, ensuring that the voice acting for Kaah isnt "Cheesy" or "Unproffesional"." Exactly why I'm hoping the Twilek speak will be used. Then again considering the character is supposed to be young and headstrong, it may not be hard to find a decent voice actor for it.
  19. I think it is deffinitly worth it playing as an opposite alignment. You'll be able to get characters who you just couldn't connect with as one side to like you in the replay. GOTO has a rather surprising revalation. HK47 also has some neat dialogue if he likes you. Unfortunatly, despite his DS alignment, you wont learn anything new with Mandalore. It's also neat as you will get Hanharr instead of Mira. He has some interesting back story. As another said, I also recommend trying the opposite sex, as you might enjoy some of the new conversation/story arcs that open with the Disciple if you play female.
  20. The only difference, that I know of, between the X-Box KotORs and the PC versions was in the first KotOR. In the first KotOR, X-Box version, you could actually use security spikes to help unlock doors, chests, etc, while the PC version was bugged and the security spikes were useless. I don't think the problem was ever solved for PC KotOR 1, but they work fine in KotOR 2. I've also read the PC versions have less bugs. KotOR 1 did have a big difference in that it had a Yavin base but that was also added to the X-Box version through X-Box Live.
  21. Thanks, back when the Restoration project was started I listened to a lot of the files but I forgot what I had used to do so with.
  22. I hate to ask such a newbie question, but could someone tell me how to open the dialog.tlk file as well as the sound files associated with M4-78, and also what specific files/folders/dialog trees are from M4-78? I've read that Kaah was supposed to either be Twi'lek or Human. Assuming he has a speaking role and there are no dialog files that belong to him I think Twi'lek would be the best choice.
  23. Ah, interesting. That makes sense. I kept wondering how the Exile, and any of the other organic team mates would be able to survive the poison. Whether they were safe in a room somewhere when it happened, or whether the poison had dissipitated before you arrived. That sounds like a good use of the droids and also fail proof story wise as you would have a droid at that part anyway you go about it.
  24. I'll be interested in seeing whether you arrive before Kaah releases the poison or after. It will be interesting to see how his character is handled as well. Is he falling to the dark side when he releases the poison? Will it be a mistake? I'm also interested to see what the 'planetary intelligence' is. If the planet is actually a huge droid with it's own intelligence or if this is simply referring to a network of systems that keep the planet's communication etc. running. The Sith, before their untimely demise, order the droids to prevent anyone from reactivating it. Perhaps reactivating it will be required to get rid of the poison. I'm not sure what the main purpose of restarting the intelligence will be. Maybe the Ebon Hawk will be prevented from leaving the planet for some reason without the intelligence on. You could have the Exile arrive while the Sith are still alive, have Kaah poison them while on the planet, not before the Sith order the intelligence turned off and to be defended by the droids they've been manufacturing. Perhaps you could arrive on the planet, meet the sith and have them think you are also Sith, like on Korriban in KoTOR 2. Then at some point you could find out that Vash (think thats her name) and Kaah are being kept prisoner. You could either then embark on a quest to free them, or show, in a cutscene Vash & Kaah making a break and Kaah poisoning the Sith. At which point it is discovered that, oops, as the Sith were being poisoned one of them ordered the droids to 'lock the planet down', I.E. turn the droid intelligence off preventing your escape. Then the quests/side quests start, given to you by Vash & Kaah, to find a way to restart the droid intelligence allowing for escape and have some sort of unforseen fate take the two during your quests. Maybe they get poisoned too, or the droids get to them while you are gone? Another method might be that you manage to talk to Vash & Kaah before they poison the Sith and you manage to do all their dialogs, then have some event happen, like the Sith somehow figuring out that you aren't Sith and are in fact there to talk to/kill Vash. Alarms go off and Kaah does the poison thing, but also somehow ends up killing himself and Vash in the process. Also, I personally think Kaah should be a Twi'Lek. His name sounds sort of Twi'Lek and plus you'll be able to simply use the Twi'Lek speak for conversations with him. I like the idea of arriving with the Sith still alive. You could go through a number of quests for them while you try and learn if there are any Jedi on the planet. Then later you could get a batch of new quests when they all get poisoned and the streets are now empty. It could be pulled of similer to Korriban. No matter what you said on Korriban you just couldn't blow your cover until you were done on the planet. A similer thing could be done to allow you to stay low on the planet. Another thought just hit me. Maybe Kaah could fall to the dark side. You would meet him and Vash and there would be a few signs of his corruption. Headstrong, wanting to off all the Sith to escape. At some point during there escape, whether you help or not, Kaah could poison the Sith, NOT just to kill the Sith on the planet stopping his escape, but also the master he has outgrown. You could have a moment where Kaah, safe from the poison in some sort of upper viewing port waves good bye to his master and poisons her, along with all the Sith. In fact, Kaah could be the final bad guy you fight on M4-78. Once the droid intelligence is reactivated and whatever steps have been taken to make your escape he could meet you outside the Ebon Hawk and try and fight you for the ship, after he reveals how much he despised his former master etc. You could perhaps even have a side story about how he falls so far. Perhaps during their imprisonment on the planet, both of them are tortured (for information, pleasure and whatever reason the Sith do it), but have that torture finally break Kaah to the dark side, kind of like Bastilla.
