Politics in the game
GreasyDogMeat replied to RPGmasterBoo's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I'm hoping Mike can go into speeches about democracy, how much it rules and how pathetic the locals are for not embracing it while wearing his American flag underwear. It would also be awesome if he could shove baseball bats and apple pie into everyone's hands. -
I feel the same way about the Angry Video Game Nerd.

Who would think that Weird Al is anything but awesome? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyfcOriVKBM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqz1ojIQTBk

Yeah, being able to carry an infinite supply of objects is much better. Previous GTA games have allowed the player to carry as many rounds of ammo as they find. GTA IV has limits, like 8 RPG rockets. Arbitrary, but it feels better for it. More balanced, makes the world feel just a bit more realistic. In F3 some arbitrary # probably wouldn't fix the problem. So you can only carry (insert #) stimpaks? Use what you need, go to the next room and stock up on one of the dozens of health stations within a single building.

Left 4 Dead just lost a few points in my book then. -Keep weightlessness but reduce the amount of stims in the world -Add weight to stims -Keep weightlessness but add arbitrary limit to amount carryable -Any combination of above or stim balance I haven't heard/thought of Any of the above would be an improvement to the current F3 system, so I'm honestly not going to get bent out of shape whatever Obsidian decides to do. Only be disapointed (but not enough to = no sale) if they decide to keep it 'as is' in F:NV. I wonder if the Obsidian devs sit around a circular table arguing about the exact same things we are doing now. I can just imagine them yelling at each other. "No! We need to limit the number!", "No! Just add weight to the stims!"
-
A limited # could be justified by a pouch that could hold only a certain number. Its like any of the myriad FPS games that don't feature any form of inventory system but still only allow the player to carry a certain number of rounds of ammo or portable healing kits. I also don't see how some arbitrary fps style number of carryable ammo/stimpaks is any dumber than being able to carry an infinite amount of these items. At one point in Fallout 3 I had near 300 stims on my person at once. No matter how its handled, SOMETHING should be done to balance the stims in Fallout: New Vegas. As someone who's other favorite genre is the FPS genre I just think that some balanced number limit would work well with Fallout 3's established no weight limit to ammo & stims. An arbitrary limit beats no limit any day of the week if you ask me (unless you are playing some kind of arcade style game) which is why I haven't been happy about Alpha Protocol's unlimited pistol ammo. I'll be able to 'get over it' though.

F3: Mothership Zeta screens & short article
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
Pretty much agree with that review. I did enjoy it more than Operation Anchorage and I certainly didn't hate it as much as the writer of that article did. After 4 DLC adventures that were progressively better from the last its disapointing to see a return to the Operation Anchorage type of DLC. On the positive: Quite a few of the abductee tapes were interesting/entertaining, the waste section of the ship was well done and the ending features a pretty awesome battle and an explosion that rivals the Megaton nuke. Some of the effects like the coolant spilling out of machines (the ones frequently requiring destruction) look amazing. If you are like me and really into F3, get them all, if not consider either Broken Steel for the additions to the core game or Point Lookout as the overall best DLC. Just a shame to see their massive uphill climb in DLC quality end with a pitfall back to the bottom. -

Downloading now, will give feedback later. -
Of course not. You refuse/forget to acknowledge half the arguments, believe in outlandish ideals/facts and troll forum topics that have nothing to do with politics. You are a superman of socialism, logic and common sense bouncing off you like bullets, able to jump facts in a single bound.

Agree about animating their use. Playing Far Cry 2 and when injured you have to inject yourself with morphine (brings up the morphine, flicks off cap and injects, could just as well be dropped in Fallout 3). I don't really mind that ammo and stims don't weigh anything in Fallout 3, but I do think there should be an amount limit per item. Say 50 stim packs and then you can't carry anymore until you use some up or drop some off at home base. Ammo, maybe could only carry 50 shotgun shells at once, couple hundred SMG rounds etc. By the end of the game I'm running around with thousands upon thousands of rounds of ammunition for every weapon and 300+ stims.

Dammit Britain, stop giving Obama ideas!

Just bought this game for my Xbox 360
GreasyDogMeat replied to David_Dude5000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
5 Years. Yes. Don't know, have it on PC. If nothing else you could probably get an original X-Box. I've seen them sold very cheaply (about as much as a new game). -
AP rated M for Mature
GreasyDogMeat replied to SupaSEGA's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Woot! M Rating! I'm hoping that Alpha Protocol can finally deliver the most realistic sex acts ever conceived. I want to custom design the shape, form, body, hair style and breast size of Mike Thorton. I want to watch in crystal clear, LCD, 54 inch, HD clarity as Mike Thorton humps in every form, format, gender-oriented possibility I can think of. Kevin McCullough talked big about Mass Effect and the game completely failed every one of his promises. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1952968/posts Obsidian... I KNOW you can do this! -
Far Cry 2. Love the atmosphere and graphics. Really feels like you are in Africa, malaria and all! Love tossing a grenade into a forrested region and watching leaves and branches go flying. Every FPS should use this game's healing method. Get about 5 bars of health. If a bar takes a bit of damage, it will regen after some time if no more damage is taken. If the whole bar is depleted though you need to use morphine. Even better, if your life bar is depleted to the last bar, you start to bleed to death. At this point when pressing the medic button you perform this gruesome 'medical procedure' on yourself which varies depending on the damage you took. Fell too far and you have to snap a limb back into place, got shot and you have to pull the bullet out etc. Beats the living poo out of the CoD series full regening health. Hate the respawning guard posts though. Also wish when working with a faction that you could run into some friendlies from that faction. EVERYONE is out to get you. Theres pretty much only one damned enemy type in the game. Mercs of various skin colors & accents, but luckily they are pretty fun to fight. Otherwise this game would get real old, real fast. An enjoyable game that, with a bit more spit and polish, could have been an amazing game.

I can see it now. LA is going to try and cash in on the Guitar Hero scene. Star Wars: Cantina Cornucopia

Yeah, stop call LoF a troll. It gets in the way of his trolling.

Loved those. I hope they bring that back or some form of coop mode.

F3: Mothership Zeta screens & short article

New trailer for the DLC. Hits August 3rd. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-t...fallout-3/53670 During the trailer it looks like the person (or atleast one of them) 'from earth's past' is a cowboy, though if its supposed to be someone of fame or not (Billy the Kid, etc)... dunno. -
I guess I'm just a pack rat. I keep every game, even if its a total pile of ****. This can pan out sometimes. While I completely hated Brothers in Arms, some cool mods came out that made the game bareable.

My jaw just dropped (and I drooled on myself a little) when I heard LoD refer to Obama as 'right wing'. My left eye is twitching now and I think I've blown a gasket.

If you forget it the next day you could replay it the next day and it would be like a brand new experience every time!

He's EPIC cool now! In fact, his coolness needs a new word... like Stupownedness.

Halo ODST. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/desperat...lo-3-odst/53569 Nathan Fillian of Firefly/Serenity fame stars in the game and is a fan of Halo. So you should be too!
