  1. PMP is right. Everyday they wrap more and more chains around the American people until one day, soon I'm afraid, we will wake up in an authoritarian police state that would make Orwell cringe. Obama has railed on for five long years about fundamentally transforming the US. Now we are getting an idea what he means. He is transforming it from a relatively free nation where personal liberty is supreme and protected to a tightly controlled and monitored one where individual liberty does not exist. Why do you think he droned on so ponderously about "collective rights" during the 2008 election? He does not believe in individual rights. I truly believe he subscribes to the Maoist idea that the people are the property of the state rather than it's master. And so many Americans seem to be perfectly willing to sell their God-given liberty for reduced cost health care and "security". The worst of it is they are not selling their own liberty, they are selling mine as well. Is it so inconceivable then that at some point some if us will stand up at some point and say enough is enough? Every time that man gives a speech, where he says one thing but the news that comes out is always the opposite, I feel the urge to go buy more guns and more ammunition because it just looks more an more inevitable that we'll be fighting each other again soon. No hyperbole here, I'd rather see the country break apart than continue down this road it's on.
  2. Also some of the majority support these measures, you've basically said it yourself. Your circle of friends don't care about security so rather leave it to people more qualified to make the right decisions for you I totally reject the idea that these people are more qualified. They (the Obama administration & the NSA) do not give a damn about my security, safety, life, or health. The only thing they want is perpetual power and those are the means to get it.
  3. Thank you! I try to be consistent and persistent!
  4. I have a similar plan for the skateboarders who are obsessed with the stairs to my mother's condo. I mean, leave a few alive to pass the word, right? That might get you into trouble Nep. But hey, at least you know a good lawyer!
  5. If you still don't think cops are out of control then how about this. a three year old has been cited for "Anti-Social Behavior" which is apparently a crime in not-so-jolly olde England: http://t.now.msn.com/caidence-leadbitter-3-cited-for-anti-social-behavior-by-police Of course in the US we have crime fighting ninjas to take care of dangerous criminal like three year old girls: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/08/16/ninja-arrested-after-lurking-in-neighbors-bushes-says-he-was-trying-to-help-cops-fight-crime/
  6. Now there is a done function we can ALL get behind!
  7. Yeah that is exactly what happened my first go around, even with the difficulty on Master. This time I'm playing with an enhanced dragon mod and max difficulty and I'm playing a totally different type of PC. My last guy was a straight warrior and was just unbeatable. This time i'm playing a PC with a few flaws built in. No armor, no enchanted items, no spells, archery & daggers only. Perfect for the DB actually.
  8. I'll do it for $20. I'm assuming that does not cover travel expenses? I've got it covered though. I'm grilling tonight and leaving the grill out and the trash cans open. Then I'm going to wait on the roof of the house with my Henry Acu-Bolt .22 mag and see what we see. There is one big one that is the cause of most of the trouble. I think he's the pack alpha, he's the one I'm after.
  9. I know what he said Calax. You and I are not going to agree on this. Unless of course it was a Republican administration. Then you would be horrified. The difference it I would still be just as angry either way. I am not willing to tolerate this BS simply because the people doing it align with me politically.
  10. Love this idea! Hold the music though. Crickets, owls and night sounds are music enough for me!
  11. I am highly unmotivated today. I need someone to break into my house and uninstall Skyrim from my laptop. I haven't had a decent nights sleep since I bought this thing! The coyotes got into it with Tommy through the door last night again. Tonight I will be waiting. I've been tolerant of their BS but nobody threatens my best friend. Time to thin out the pack a little.
  12. Look at it this way Calax, this job is still a HUGE upgrade over where you were just a month or two ago!
  13. If the US government feels it is appropriate to beak about in the affairs ( I love that term ) of citizens whose only crime was to bear arms in the service of their country then it has finally become the monster the far right groups have always said it was. Do you realize since 2009 six states...SIX, have had articles of secession introduced in their respective legislatures. Every one was soundly voted down of course but the fact that it is happening is not insignificant. Avalanches begin with a few pebbles. The administrations response to this has only been further antagonism. This is heading in a very bad direction.
  14. I don't think he's socialist. I certainly don't think he's the anti-christ. If you'll remember I even corrected Tsuga for calling him evil. To be sure he is not. However if someone is so opposed to you on every level the differences are small. And yes there is an extremely small minority of both right and left groups out there who blithely talk about overthrowing the government. They are no a credible threat to anyone. What this man has done is taken ALL people who are opposed to him and his politics and lumped them into that group and then turned around and ordered law enforcement to watch them. For God's sake Wals, the IRS is auditing outspoken opponents of the president and trying to suppress PAC groups that have political leaning opposite his. They were talking about using drones to kill Americans IN AMERICA! Yes they apologized for saying it. Yes they said they didn't mean it. You'd be a fool if you believed that. I used to think the possibility of a second armed civil war was ludicrous. Now I could easily see a number of way it could happen and might. As far as the interpretation of that 2009 DHS directive, no I think their meaning was very clear. And I am FAR from the only one to think that. Whatever respect I had for that man and his administration was lost for good and all when that came out. He says I'm a potential enemy of the United States. Fine.
  15. What about your president GD? Surly you respect Obama even if you don't agree with all his policies No. Not even a little. Him least of all. When he was first elected in 2008 I didn't care much about him one way or the other. He was just another politician I didn't vote for but I disliked McCain so intensely I wasn't terribly upset even though I disagreed with him on everything. Then in 2009 his administration has the DHS direct local law enforcement everywhere to begin paying special attention to veterans, legal gun owners, Christians, and "liberty-lovers" as likely terrorists all the while refusing to acknowledge actual terrorism as such tells me just who he thinks his real enemies are. People just like me. And as bad as that is he has only gotten worse since. I've said it before and I mean it, the single most important thing in this life, individual liberty means nothing to Barack Obama. When he was re-elected I felt physically sick. I've never been depressed at the outcome of something so petty as a political election before.
  16. If you have any boxes from when video games were still physical, stuff it in there. That's a good idea! I have many still ,all lined on on one of the bookshelves (my loft is wall to wall bookshelves)
  17. Manny Ramirez has been released by the Rangers.
  18. I really can't think of a single politician I have a shred of respect for. Marco Rubio was one I had high hopes for but he got to Sodom-Om-The-Potomac he became another big government type. There is not a single one I'd want to have any power over me and mine but they seem to take more and more every day.
  19. Stephanie's ring came today. It's a 1.75 ct "floating" solitaire on 18k white gold. Now I have to hide it well enough she won't accidently find it. I highly doubt she snoops when she's here alone but you never know. It's going to drive me nuts though. as far as I can tell she does not suspect a thing. She still does not know where I taking her yet.
  20. In a week you're going to trade two kids for two dozen Hurlie!
  21. Happy Birthday Mal!
  22. Both of my sea duty tours were on carriers, CVN-65 USS Enterprise and CVN-72 USS Abraham Lincoln. Thank god I wasn't on one of the small boys (destroyers, cruisers). We used to stand in the hanger bay and watch them get tossed around by the ocean while we barely felt anything. You missed out! Gator Freighters baby, that's the REAL Navy. Those carriers of your are bigger than the town I grew up in. You could get lost on one of them. No one ever got lost on an Amphib! The only ship where Marines outnumber sailors (and we let them know) OOORAH!
  23. I don't know about that second part Hurlshot. The IRS has not only been caught trying to suppress political speech, they are still doing it brazenly. And the majority of the media coverage has been supportive of them. The Obama admin states it's within their power to use drones to kill Americans and not only was the press supportive for the most part they ridiculed people who opposed it. The majority of the media has become a willing accomplice in covering up malfeasance to help politicians they support. I wonder how much risk a petty and vindictive politician really takes when he decides to use his office or government power to "punish" an enemy.
  24. I completely agree. That is one thing I would do over again. Not many decisions I would say that about. But like I told my nephew, you have to want it. You'll appreciate this though Shady. He asked what the best way to get in shape for boot camp is and I told him to run, run some more, then run more after that. And practice drinking LOTS of water. Sorry everyone else, only Shady & I would realize why that second part is funny.
  25. To follow up on Hurlshot's comment (and others) about having nothing to hide, you are presuming to know what they are looking for. Right now the story is they are using this data to look for terrorist/criminal activity. Is it so inconceivable that this could be used to monitor speech, political leanings, searching out "enemies of the people"? Now that this thing exists and congress has reaffirmed it's future it can be used for whatever the whims of the regime of the day dictate. Don't forget the Obama administration once set up a website where you could report people who were speaking ill of Obamacare before it was passed. Tomorrows "terrorist" might be you if you have visited unauthorized sites or engaged in political postings or expressed opinions considered to be "contrary to the interests of the United States". If you think this program is harmless or even a good thing for you then you placing a hell of a lot of faith in your future political leaders.
