I blame common core. I don't know what that is but clearly it's the cause of all of this.

Meeting with a potential business partner for lunch. We have been discussing a small business venture for a few weeks now. Real estate and property restoration and flood damage remediation. And other similar services.

I truly do not get why anyone would care who puts what where with whom in the bedroom. No one's business but the folks doing it. No one is asking anyone to bless it. Or approve of it. You can harbor any opinion of it you like. Certainly no one is compelled to participate in it. Just acknowledge it's not your business. Because it's not. No matter who you are there is someone out there doing something right now you don't like. And there is nothing you can or should do with it. I even bet somewhere someone is hoping for the Yankees to win another World Series. Mister if I can let THAT go you can handle Pete B's home life.

Sioux City. I spent a week there one night.

You sir are an inspiration. Congratulations, good luck, and hats off to you. Not just for turning your life around but using it to help other folks.

There are some in the wag more bark less thread. I don't have too many of Bela. I've only had her for a short time. I should take more.

LOL I can't say I would either. Compulsory collectivism is just not my thing. This is like saying to a man trapped in a burning building "Here, take this pistol. We're not going to save you but at least it will be quicker!"

Ha! Imagine me not being surprised! I will repeat again: There are no angels in hell. There are naught but quarreling devils!

The Democrats have a somewhat undeserved reputation for being hostile to religion. Some factions that make up the Democrat party absolutely are. Some Democrats in elected office are. And they are really nasty about it. Your Senator Feinstein comes to mind. But on the whole it is not true. The Republicans have been, in the past, regarded as the champions of individual liberties. The freedom of religion being on of the big ones. That was mostly true once but now, not really. Political support is something of a habit I've observed. My father was a red blooded southern Democrat who supported them because they were "for the working man like me" long after that ceased to be true. They guys at the VFW were Reagan converts and have been staunch Republicans ever since because the GOP put America's interests first if that was ever even true. They supported Trump for that same reason. I think, even without the encouragement of religious leaders people who vote on the basis of religious faith will gravitate to the Republicans because that is what they did in the past. I do agree the strong feelings abortion evokes in people are sincerely felt. But nowhere I've read does the Christian faith charge people to stop the sins of others. In fact we are told to love the sinner and hate the sin. If abortion is a sin it's between the person doing it and God and no one else. We are all countable only for ourselves.

That would be an entertaining election. Of course the outcome will be terrible. But, if you are going to hell in a handbasket no matter what you might as well enjoy the ride.

I took Sunny to the vet today for bloodwork. So far she is responding well to the Denemarin. Her cortisol levels are high normal but improved from the diagnosis six months ago. As long as she keeps doing well on the med and I keep her diet strictly controlled (it already was) there is a good chance she can beat expectations and just keep going. I am very relieved. These two mutts mean a lot to me.

I can't stop watching this. The elephant is 61 years old and at a sanctuary in Thailand. He had been used for hard labor and is in poor health. He had trouble adapting to life in the sanctuary and the staff found music helps calm him. So one of the keepers plays for him.

I know people who have the Amazon Echo and they say that light that means it's listening turns on by itself sometimes. Of course not everything Alexa hears is worth listening to.

Agreed. Prince nailed that year. Few have come close. J-Lo and Shakira were both nice to look at but it wasn't really my thing. Of course I am always impressed at the effort and rehearsal work that goes into pulling off a performance like that. To say nothing of setting up and tearing down the stage all without damaging the field.

This is why I won't have any voice activated AI trash in MY house: https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/2020/02/02/siri-spying-why-apple-ipad-changed-after-hearing-spanish-home/4627367002/ Of course even I I did all they would ever hear is me talking to my dogs since I live alone otherwise. Heck if it wasn't for them I'd probably go weeks without uttering a word.

In all fairness everything in Kansas City west of I-35 IS in Kansas. About a third of the city. So, as blunders go this was hardly the biggest. Arrowhead Stadium is on the east side so it is definitely in Missouri.

Along with socialists apparently. I'd stay out of Montana ComradeMaster https://time.com/5776337/montana-rodney-garcia-socialists-shot-jailed/

I'm curious. What qualifies as "white trash" in your minds?

My memory of the exact reasoning for the finding of the majority in Citizens United is fading. And it's entirely too early for heavy reading. But in general I am 100% in favor of the guarantees of rights and liberties being interpreted as broadly as possible. Even if the outcome for doing so is a net negative. Clarence Thomas said the "Legal questions have objectively correct answers." Assume for a moment the majority decision was legally correct but led to a predictably bad effect on the politics of the country. As a judge where would you go? The objectively correct answer and damn the consequences or the "better for the country" answer and a deficient answer? It would be a hell of a choice to have to make. The latter means your are using the power of your seat to impose your will on people. Some justices were definitely OK with that. Stevens comes to mind. Most are not. Roe is another one like it. It was decided on a principle of privacy that does not exist. But strike it down might be objectively correct but create a horrifying mess. Of course Congress could take the whole thing off the table and pass a law. Not that they have any appetite to wade into that murky water. But I bet the Court wishes they would.

Look guys I am sot saying there is definitely some shady stuff going on with Biden, Barisma, and the government of Ukraine. I am saying a lot of people who should be otherwise suspicious of such dismiss it out of hand. Mainly because of the political parties of the people involved.
