I figured I had Trump pegged as being an utter s--tshow before he took office. I did have some hopes he would either accomplish a few things that no career politicians would ever consider or f--k up so terribly Congress would remember it is a co-equal branch of government and push back on executive overreach. Really neither of those things happened so, s--tshow all around. Even during the election the ONLY thing going for him was being slightly less repugnant that Hillary Clinton. This year he does not even have that so it seems really likely he will be shown the door. So, much is being made of him refusing to leave office if defeated. That tired old story get's dusted off every year by the opposing party. I heard a lot of folks say that about Obama. Hell, in the end I don't think anyone was happier his term was up than he was! So, don't worry about that. That is just left wing rabble rousing and propaganda just like it was right wing before. The last thing he can do for us on the way out the door is to open the governments closet and let all the skeletons out. He promised to do that if removed from office. The JFK stuff, the Area 51 stuff, the spying stuff, all of it. Let's see what the SOB's have been doing to us all this time. Let's pull back the curtain and see what the wizard really looks like. C'mon Trump. Go out on a high note!

Much to my surprise Green Libertarian is a real thing and accounts for a fair sized share of the folks who support the LP. Based purely on my own conversations/observations. The big difference being a complete lack of faith in the ability or willingness of any government to actually do anything. It actually matches my own attitudes towards the government of the US and even state and local. We can't fix it. We can't save it. Maybe we should just start ignoring it.

Basically he's blaming the Democrats for the fall of law and order and inability of the state to provide security. He's only half right on that count. The truth is the state has never, ever been able to provide security. At best the police do a fair job of identifying who has committed a crime and arresting them to face justice. At their worst they are an armed gang every bit as capricious, oppressive and dangerous as the people folks thing they should be protected from. If you are an American citizen you REALLY need to pay attention to this: your safety, security, health, and future are entirely in YOUR hands. You need to begin thinking about those things as if your governments do not exist. Because on a functional level they don't in some ways. That is not to say there is no law and you can do whatever. Exactly the opposite. Follow the law but take every action to further your own security, financial and actual

It took me a minute or two to "get" this. But once I did it was worth a chuckle. They were a thing after I was too old for cartoons. Except Simpsons, South Park, and Duckman that is.

I played FO4 long into the night. Once the coffee makes... going back. So, I'm playing in Survival mode and that not being able to save except when resting is really changing how I play. I downloaded a mod that makes weapons considerably more damaging. You might survive one bullet but not two. I'm walking down that road that runs south out of Concord and it occurred to me it's been a pretty long time since I'd saved. Maybe 45 minutes of gameplay or more. Suddenly I'm no longer walking I'm sneaking down the road. And checking the terrain all around me with a scope looking for enemies or places likely to have beds or those blue shelters (I have a mod that lets you save inside them in Survival Mode). I pass this huge bunch of buildings to the left and hear a massive firefight going on in them. Ordinarily I'd have waded right into the middle of that! Not this time skipper. Discretion is the better part of valor when you haven't saved in a while. Come back to that later!

Meh, who has the energy to flip out over that kind of thing anymore. If it makes folks happy play the damn song. At this point I just wish everyone would STFU. Likely aint gonna happen though.

I spent most of the day doing yard work. Then I worked on sanding the rust off the inside of that wood stove. Jeez did I bite off more than I can chew on that. I just took a long shower and it's time for FO4.

Saw the Dr. last week. Went back yesterday to discuss lab stuff. Mostly in pretty good shape. BP, A1C, red/white, weight, all ok. I'd like to lose 15 lbs or so. And I gave up booze. Maybe for good this time. We'll see. I just don't get the enjoyment from it I once did. In other news I actually started playing a computer game (other than chess & OOTP) for the first time in years. I loaded, them modded up FO4 and away we go. So far I like it. Had a few restarts to work out mod conflicts and learn the controls and set it up the way I like it. I just found Dog Meat. The amazing thing is he actually acts like a dog for the first time ever.
