  1. Can't you turn off the blur effect in the graphics "Options" settings? Pretty sure I did that last time I played through -- not sure if it was K1 or K2 I played last, though. "
  2. We're playing something like that now -- the "Starship Troopers" d20 rules book (complete with psionic-type brain powers), set in the "Aliens" universe (only using the first 2 movies, set about 20 years after the 2nd flick). It's good fun. Personally, if doing a Sci-Fi game, I'd always suggest some sort of genetic engineering subplot or element, as well as corporate greed or double-cross. Sounds a bit like Cypberpunk 2020, hmm...
  3. Or as I call it, the "vroom" button? Yah, it's there... doesn't stack with the extra attacks of a Sith Marauder, though (grrr). And not to be used in armor.
  4. I love the voice acting for Visas, Handmaiden, & Mira. It's a threeway! (tie, you pervs!) (w00t)
  5. Yah, I'm pretty sure it's any Dark Sider after the umm... oh wait, this isn't the spoilers forum.

  10. I watched one season, which was pretty good. But didn't watch any others. I dunno -- I think Jack Bauer should be in therapy by now... "Doc, I have a normal life usually, but every now and then, ONE DAY becomes frantically important on a world-wide scale, and it's up to me to go without sleep every hour to save the world!" Heavy medication ensues...
  11. Here's a .pdf file from the National Institute of Standards & Technology. Might help. http://fire.nist.gov/bfrlpubs/fire02/PDF/f02086.pdf

  13. I agree.
  14. Immanuel Kant was a real pissant Who was very rarely stable. Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar Who could think you under the table. David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, [some versions have 'Schopenhauer and Hegel'] And Wittgenstein was a beery swine Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel. There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya 'Bout the raising of the wrist. Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed. John Stuart Mill, of his own free will, On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill. Plato, they say, could stick it away-- Half a crate of whisky every day. Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle. Hobbes was fond of his dram, And Ren

  16. I used to obsessively collect these rulebooks, but stopped eventually around the time "Changeling" came out. I dunno about the new setting -- do they still use giant gobs of handfuls of dice for Dice Pools?
  17. My brother in law is a chip designer out in Silicon Valley, and has always been very anti-Microsoft, "oh we won't be having any of THEIR products in my house!" Until he won a free X-Box at a conference. Now he LOVES that console and buys games for it, but still grumbles a bit now and then. :D
  18. I just bought & watched these DVDs: "The Princess Bride" "Clue" "Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill"

  20. Because I'm a loser Actually, dunno why we didn't do any parties this year. I guess we got burned out on all the Christmas-time stuff and now just want to have a quiet New Years at home. /shrug!
  21. Had to switch my avatar back to Will Ferrel's "More Cowbell," in honor of this thread.
  22. I have before, when I was a teenager. Not really my thing, either. I know a couple of people who are really into it, but it just doesn't float my boat. It doesn't fill me with revulsion, either, but it just doesn't interest me.
  23. I used to be heavy into the Vampire stuff back in the heyday of Anne Rice and all that jazz, especially early 1990s. I was never goth but I remember when it emerged. Seems nowadays the kids are switching from goth vampires to "emo," hehe!
