That taffer Musopticon? mentioned The City from the Thief series. I second that. Of all the games I've played (okay, not that many, but still), the setting in the Thief series had the best game world, probably because of the "immersion-factor" of them all, but also because there was a lot of background, like Musopticon? said. The contrasts within the setting were also a contributing role to what made it so great. You had everything from great immaculate mansions to complete slums and abandoned buildings (haunted former orphanage gone mental asylum anyone? That place was freaky), but no matter where you went, there was always a certain feeling of decadence to it.

Proof? No, no proof, but, let's use your own logic: Can you disprove anything that has been said so far? Anything that will absolutely negate any claims that violent video games can be responsible, as inspiration, catalyst, anything, for any possible real life violence.

As I see it, the problem isn't what can be done in a game, but the fact that it is almost always in some way glorified. I don't have a problem with "taboo" subjects in games, it's just that when a game has a story or objective as an excuse to portray violence, like Postal, GTA, most FPS's, I think it's questionable.

The messing up of my back started with boating as well, except it involved switching between pulling on the jib sheet and pumping water out of the boat for about 26 hours straight on this boat: 26 man crew, and we were in a race from denmark to norway that lasted for about one and a half days...I was supposed to get some rest, but the guy in the other shift who had the same position as I managed to get himself seasick and smacking his head a bit while taking down the top sail , so I had to fill in.

Morals huh? Well, if you REALLY want to know what I would like to think, go read I. Kant's Groundworks to the Metaphysics of Morals and after that The Metaphysics of Morals. As for the morals of science and math, I highly doubt both the existence of such and the need for it. The problem with abortion is that some people consider it "murder," while others do not. So what do morals say about it? Well, the argument can be tossed back and forth without end. I'm personally for abortion. Well, they should be the same as "normal" rights. Gay marriage doesn't exactly bother me. What does bother me is their constant whining about having the right to adopt. That I AM against. I'd rather that kid's have a normal childhood. The UN is politics, so applying morals isn't really a possibility. Again, the war in Iraq is completely distanced from morality to begin with, so trying to apply "morals" becomes very subjective. Um, safe, efficient, and not too environmentally dangerous. That being said, nuclear power is the way to go, as it fits those requirements better than anything else.
