The real reason I am so happy is because it's Apple iCloud that got hacked. I am hoping and praying that all the celebrities will line up to sue Apple. Apple must be in full damage control mode right now. There is nothing that makes me happier than watching Apple and MacHeads squirm.

All those photos and videos were hacked from Apple iCloud. Hopefully Apple will get sued big time for it. The real reason I'm so happy is because it's Apple that got hacked and is in this big mess. Would love to see the denials of all the MacHeads who are delusional that Apple is the safest ecosystem. Buahaha!

Plus: Kristen Ritter, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, McKayla Maroney, Kaley Cuoco, Becca Tobin, and more. I have no idea who most of those girls are. Almost all of them have multiple leaked photos. (Ali Michaels have over a hundred nude photos hacked and leaked.) A few of them have leaked videos. Both the photos and videos are never-seen-before. It's like a labor-day weekend massacre. Oh, in case you have not heard, the Internet is buzzing with the news: Jennifer Lawrence's Nude Photos Leak Online, Other Celebs Targeted I am not going to post the link here. You should look for the photos and videos yourself. I posted a link to all the photos and videos in several other forums - including in some game forums. Got suspended and banned immediately. I just want to let you know that those photos and videos are out there, so you can look for them. It is me doing a public service. Should you find those photos and videos, download and save them in your hard drive ASAP. Apparently a legionnaire of Hollywood lawyers are taking down those photos and videos, real fast, every time the photos or videos pop up on a website.

I like Curse of the Azure Bonds. Not the game but the box art. The redhead with the half-exposed boobs on the box cover is certainly more appealing than the skull on the Baldur's Gate box.

Here is a post in the illegal immigration (US) discussion that has something to do with Ukraine: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66597-confusions-over-illegal-immigrants-vs-refugees/?p=1498083
-
Here is a case that presents an interesting contrast against the recent masses of illegal immigrant children from Central America who somehow got to stay in the US (at least for now.) People complain that Americans are discriminating against "brown" people, and that is supposedly the real reason why Americans are against letting immigrants from Central America stay. Here is an interesting case that says otherwise. The YouTube video below is about a child under 18. A white girl who had entered the US legally on visa. Her visa had just expired, so she had to go back to... Eastern Ukraine. Her host family here in the US (who had sponsored her VISA) wanted to find a way for her to stay, but they could not get the necessary paperwork to renew or extend her visa. The girl's mother and sister were in a refugee camp. Her other sister was displaced and missing. Her program director in Ukraine who handled her paperwork was missing, (which was why they could not get the paperwork to extend her visa.) Here is the irony: all those Central American children who, illegally, without a legal entry visa, entered the country; they can stay. They are demanding the US to grant "refugee" status to them so that they can stay indefinitely - because their home country was supposedly in a state of chaos and violence. As of now, they are allowed to stay in the US - even though they entered the country without any legal papers or visa. On the other hand, the Ukrainian girl entered the country legally. We know her home is now a war zone, in a state of chaos and violence. Yet she had to go back regardless. No exceptions. By the book. I assume she could not even claim to be a refugee; (as I explained in my first post, she would not fit the criteria for claiming the refugee status in the US.) And, all those children who get to stay are brown. The one that did not get to stay and had to go was white. So much for the "America does not like brown people!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9m7jBwW7Zo P.S. Personally, I vote for letting all the hot girls stay. Kick out everyone else. America can never have enough hot girls.

Gamers do not care about movies. Microsoft has learned the lesson from Xbox One. GOG will have to learn the lesson as well. GOG has been losing publishers and titles, and has not added any major publisher since... forever. I regret having spent so much money on GOG; should have bought most of my games from Steam instead.

Reason why Diablo 3 pissed me off. The REAL reason.

Why couldn't Diablo 3 just call the class "Shaman"? Shaman. One word. ONE word. Witch Doctor my arse. -

ktchong replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Seriously. Why is it even called "Witch DOCTOR"? Does that class even have any medical skill? And I hate people who call themselves "doctors" when they have never even been to a college or university. -
I have not decided if I should support Russia or Ukraine. Hm. Who has hotter women? Whose women are more willing to date Asian men? Russia or Ukraine?

Let's look at the tradition in Diablo games. Here are the names of all the classes in the original Diablo and its official-but-later-became-unofficial expansion: Warrior. ONE word. Rogue. ONE word. Sorcerer. ONE word. Monk. ONE word. And the names of all the classes in Diablo 2 and the Lord of Destruction expansion: Amazon. ONE word. Barbarian. ONE word. Necromancer. ONE word. Paladin. ONE word. Sorceress. ONE word. Assassin. ONE word. Druid. ONE word. Then, during the development of Diablo 3, the classes were announced as followed: The first was a returning class, the Barbarian. Then, the unthinkable happened... Witch Doctor. WITCH. DOCTOR. TWO words. TWO FREAKING WORDS. That was so NOT Diablo. It was an established TRADITION to use ONE word for class names in Diablo. ONE word. The Diablo 3 team totally disrespected the Diablo tradition. That just made me so angry. Then we got the Wizard. The Monk. Then it happened again. Demon Hunter. There was it again! DEMON. HUNTER. TWO words. Again! That was when I decided: "Okay, that's it, I'm done with Diablo. I will NEVER play another Diablo again." True story. Of course, the whole always-online for single-player thing was also a deal breaker. But I am still really upset at the Witch Doctor and Demon Hunter. 'till this day, I still refuse to play Diablo 3. Seriously, they totally disrespected tradition. Is there anyone here who felt the same way?

The contribution women make towards gaming development
ktchong replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
"The contribution women make towards gaming development" Boobs. But anyway, one of the legendary founders of computer games is Roberta Williams. She pioneered many innovations (in her days) that have since become or led to the standards in PC gaming. As a kindergarten teacher coming from a non-technical background, her main contributions to PC gaming were she made gaming more intuitive instead of mechanical. Most other founders of the PC gaming were men. Geeks and nerds. Programmers and engineers. Their creations were "hardcore", often very unintuitive and complex with steep learning curves. Their games often have dozens of commands to memorize. Roberta was dedicated to streamlining her games, to making her games more intuitive, more accessible to everyone. So even a kindergarten could pick up her game and play it. Many bitter old farts hated Roberta Williams for her contributions. Like how she practically invented the graphical interface that replaced text parsers in PC gaming; the old farts at the time hated her (and her company Sierra Online) for supposedly "killing" the text parser interface and Infocom games, (I said, good riddance!) She also pioneered a mouse-driven control to replace keyboard-based control, and the same group of old farts accused her of "dumbing down" PC gaming. But she is a legend. And they were just old farts. P.S. Most of those old farts hang out at GOG nowadays, and they are still pissed at Roberta Williams. Seriously. -
My guess is EA's non-compete agreements are usually valid for a year after an employee quits. When Richard Garriott ("Lord British" of the Ultima series) resigned from EA-Origin System in 2000, his non-compete agreement with EA expired after a year. A bunch of Swedes quit EA DICE in 2011, and then left and start their own studio in 2012. (It's the same old story: EA bought out the studio; then, after a few years, things did not work out between EA and the original founders/owners of the studio. So those people left and, after a year or two, started another studio.) So Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk's non-compete agreement with EA should have expired by now or will expire soon. I expect to see a Kickstarter from the doctors soon.

I think the Kung Fu RPG concept turned into Jade Empire. FYI, non-compete agreements are automatically void as the matter of law in California, where Electronic Arts is based. (In other states like New York, non-compete clauses are enforceable.) However, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk may have signed a non-compete agreement with EA in Canada. Non-compete agreements and clauses favor big companies at the expense of employees and little people. Even though in California non-compete agreements are not enforceable and may even be illegal, companies still frequently require new employees to sign those agreements. Companies are using ignorance and "lawfare" to enforce the agreements - i.e., either employees do not know that non-compete agreements are actually useless in California, or companies are willing to take employees to court, deliberately drag out cases to financially exhaust those employees. The companies know they would not win in the end and would have to settle out of court. However, the purpose of lawfare is not to win but to intimidate. Unfortunately, many individuals simply do not have the financial resources to fight a prolonged lawfare against big companies. Apple (which is based in California) in particular is infamous for using lawfare to enforce their illegal non-compete employment agreements. It is really a bullying and intimidation tactic.

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
ktchong replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Planescape: Torment had an interesting "hook" for its time, (actually, several quite interesting hooks.) KoToR and Fallout are not sword-and-sorcery RPG. Agree with you on Mask of the Betrayer. I am actually interested in that other Torment game that is currently in production at InXile. That one has a more interesting hook/take than Pillar of Eternity. Anyway, explain later, really have to run.- 256 replies

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
ktchong replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Here is my reason for not having any interest in Pillar of Eternity. I am quoting from myself from a discussion over at the Bethesda forum. It mostly dealt with Dragon Age, but the same reason also applies to Pillar of Eternity: (The Witcher did.) Honestly, IMO Pillar of Eternity is yet another unneeded entry in the oversatured genre. At this point I am not interested in learning the lore of yet another fantasy RPG. A new fantasy RPG has to stand out and be very exceptional to appeal to me. Personally, I think it was a mistake for Obsidian to use the Kickstarter to fund another Tolkienisque sword-and-sorcery RPG, instead of something fresh and unique. Someone else asked me why the Witcher appealed to me and Dragon Age did not. I took a few days to figure out why, and I will post the reasons. In short, the Witcher is more of a character-driven drama - it is more of personal story (of Geralt the Witcher) on a more personal intimate. His personal stories and actions are driven by his personal demons and loved ones. His actions rarely has any difference or impact on the world: the world seems to goes on with or without him, and he is just struggling to survive, to stay afloat, and save/hold on to his loved ones and the people close to him. On the other hand, most other fantasy RPG are about some epic struggles on an grand scale - their stories are very impersonal, more story-driven and less character-driven. They are always about how the hero, the "chosen one", save or change the world. I am sorta sick and tired of that whole "oh, my player character is the most important character in the RPG, and the universe revolves around my character" RPG. Therefore, the Witcher presents a different take on the fantasy RPG genre. Another difference is the Witcher has a "hook", a central theme, a personal story and subject matter, which can be easily summed up in a sentence or paragraph, (i.e., it has a great "pitch",) while Dragon Age is very difficult to summed up because it is unfocused and all over the place, it tries to cover too many themes and too many grounds and too many different stories. The Witcher seems to be driven by a single artistic vision, while Dragon Age seemed like it was put together in some brainstorming sessions in a boardroom by a committee. Anyway. I'll deal this one in more details later. Have to run.- 256 replies

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
ktchong replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
I saw the comment earlier, but I did not respond to it because I know my comment would cause quite a stir in here so I refrained from commenting earlier. But here goes... I am actually not even a least bit interested in Pillar of Eternity. Maybe this deserves another discussion, on why an WRPGamer like myself does not show any interest in Pillar of Eternity. I mentioned this in the Bethesda forums, and I was surprised to find out I was not the only one. Anyway, it's Sunday. I'll come back and deal with it in details if needed.- 256 replies

Jade Raymond, that's her name. Personally I do not feel she is that hot as everyone else was treating her to be... nor was she a good game producer/director. I read that Assassin's Creed has a lot of gameplay and technical issues. She's not ugly or fat, she is okay. I suppose a woman who is not ugly or fat is a rarity in the video game industry. Who knows. Assassin's Creed was her brainchild, and it has turned into a successful franchise. So she got promoted. Assassin's Creed was actually a very underwhelming game. I think the game sold well mostly due to her: the game received so much attention, press and free marketing because of her.- 256 replies
