  1. No. Leafy Shades Retirement Home Needs You!
  2. Next time I make this chili sin carne, I think I'll put in a little less chili powder. It's quite hot, you see.
  3. I'm sure Tony Blair would love to introduce the draft, if he thought he could get away with it. I'd quite like to see compulsory volunteer service as happens I think in Germany, with a military service option for those who are that way inclined. That's if the military think it's worthwhile, of course, which they may well not. I don't think the Danes should have guns. That might make them too happy.
  4. Without wishing to imply that I regularly search the internet for stories about David Hasselhoff being drunk and disorderly: Link.
  5. Didn't you watch the movies? DS leads to death, defeat and ignominy. The attraction of the DS is not where it leads, but that you have more fun on the way.
  6. Best? Kreia/Treya was most interesting, although could have been even better if she'd been written with a bit more subtlety.
  7. You could role-play as a sort of Jedi alcoholic who follows the LS path most of the time, but keeps falling off the wagon.
  8. It's been a year and a half, just let it go.
  9. Doodle a moustache on it and send it back. I start working a split shift on Saturday and I'm wondering if my alarm clock is going to cut it. I might go shopping tomorrow evening and try to get a louder one.
  10. I shouldn't worry about this guy, he's famous now. He'll probably be put on a plane to the US just before Condoleeza Rice's next visit to Beijing. Another token human rights dissident set free. Who are our stated opponents, and what did the Chinese sell them? (Given our own record of selling arms to our soon-to-be-stated opponents, I'm not sure we can really complain that much. )
  11. I slipped first time, and fell, and presumably dissolved. One fortunate side-effect of Bloodlines being buggy was that I was saving my game every three minutes, and so didn't lose much.
  12. Let's just say, hypothetically, that I don't know where to look. Where do you look?
  13. Journey Into Space: The Red Planet. 1950s radio sci-fi.
  14. I certainly wouldn't sign up to pilot a starfighter, at the rate they get blown to bits, and who in their right mind would? A sure sign of conscription under an oppressive regime. In anything like Star Wars or Star Trek, there's no justification for not having either AI or remote control. Battlestar Galactica has a plot-related reason for not having that kind of technology, which is fine.
  15. Doesn't Handmaiden convert very late, something like level 18? Atton and Mira usually get jedified at around level 10 for me, so they actually make some progress in their Jedi classes.
  16. Indeed. Have the people who wrote Oblivion now switched over to working on Fallout 3, or is there some new blood? I don't see any reason why a vast world and near-unlimited freedom should be incompatible with a good story, but the existing writers just don't seem able to pull it off.
  17. I shall dream of vicious seaweed tonight.
  18. When a new spectacular best card is released, how much would the price cut usually be on the previous spectacular best card? Does it happen immediately, or is there a delay? I'm hoping to buy a Conroe-based or Conroe-ready system in September.
  19. 'Miserable Edition'. Or possibly 'Many Errors'. I used ME and I much prefer XP: you can use XP for well over an hour without it crashing to desktop or resetting.
  20. The increase in reported cases of violent crime has been blamed on changing official definitions of what violent crime actually is. This may be the case with animal cruelty. It's also possible that the RSPCA is getting better at detecting it, or people are more willing to report their neighbours. There are many things that could account for a rise in statistics other than an actual rise in violence, and I don't think the RSPCA is above using statistics inaccurately to get publicity for its cause. I know that a lot of people in the UK feel that society is getting more violent, but I suspect that's just:
  21. The fight scene with Atton and Sion will be in the Restoration Project mod, I think. I remember they had a fairly big discussion about the various ways it might play out. There's also a sound file of cut content in which Atton lies dying after the fight and declares that he loved you - it'll be somewhere in the sound folders if you have the PC version.
  22. So we hear, from time to time, but are they anywhere near actually making the thing? I agree that this would be good (provided Mr. Lucas only produces and doesn't try to direct or write). Oh, and no remakes of the movies, please. Original sci-fi stories!
  23. It was sometimes fun to lure them into towns and watch the guards cut them up.
  24. There's at least one mod out there that removes cliff racers.
  25. There's another one? I thought the last one (a couple of years ago) was trashed by everyone who saw it. You're in the first one? Is that what you meant? Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Begging is a much better and scarier title.
