  1. I think there should be more visual distinction in the word formatting of the class descriptions - and elsewhere too. The wording and texting becomes to flat, as there is nothing that attaches, guides, or draws the eyes toward each reading segment. So, for the abilities, for example, make the title - Starting Abilities: - more protruding and the labels - Holy Radiance - - more distinct from the description - "Generates a moderate amount of Stamina for..." This way, reading becomes much easier, there is less strain and effort in looking up the description, and there is more organization to the information - which I think is quite important to have in a game that is basically made to be read. Also, having it this way makes the word formatting more consistent with the rest of the game - as it is now - because you have this kind of formatting in the Conversation UI, if I recall correctly.
  2. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to begin playing for real after I installed the Beta. Just managed to make a character and explore a little bit last night, until a series of headaches decided to pay me a visit. Oh, the irony, right? But hopefully, I'll get to dive into it later this evening, because it seems that people enjoy it - bug testing and all!
  3. 1h 30m for me, with my quantum internet speed of 550kb/s.....
  4. Thanks for the information! Will be fun to begin play... I mean testing!
  5. I've heard it's around 1.5TB. Of course, I'm the person who said that, who I heard it from, so it's very likely not correct. Ah, man... And here I was hoping it wouldn't be 1TB...
  6. How many GBs is the Beta download going to be? Any information on that?
  7. So, afternoon in PST (or is it PDT?) is going to be around or after midnight GMT... Sheesh, if there is one thing man has conjured that confuses me, it's time. technically afternoon would be a little under an hour from now...although somehow i doubt we're going to get it at exactly 12:01. Okay, at what hour is afternoon over there? I went from the assumption that it was after 15:00, or wait, that's probably after midday? Or is it? Ahh, what the hell... Damn you time!!!
  8. So, afternoon in PST (or is it PDT?) is going to be around or after midnight GMT... Sheesh, if there is one thing man has conjured that confuses me, it's time.
  9. Yeah... It's going real slow, haha!
  10. No, sir, nothing as of yet - at least, as far as I know!
  11. Haha... Now that's an image not too soon forgot! No wonder why people seem so butt-hurt...
  12. I wouldn't really dwell too much on it though, after all, nobody but Obsidian knows at this moment whether or not it is going to be delayed - not until they share new information with us. Everything outside of that is purely speculation, hogwash that merely serves for meaningless confusion and rumours to ascend. We'll know when we know - until then, we really don't know, so it's no use to pretend one knows.
  13. Wait for it... Wait for it... Waaaiiit fooor iiitt!
  14. Totally, man! I'm glad Obsidian got the opportunity to make a game like this, I think many, many people have been waiting for a true successor to the IE games.
  15. I'll most likely be using custom portraits, not that the PoE ones are looking bad, I just enjoy customization!
  16. I would prefer it both ways. Resting at level up restores your health, but outside does not. Ah, of course, I agree. Leveling up without resting does not heal, but resting at level up does. That seems logical. But when you level up without resting and you are somehow healed by it, then that may be a severe case of a self-compelled and quite radical morphogenetic transformation (I mean, what the hell does that even mean!?). Wounds that might take say, eight hours to heal, simply vanish mysteriously in a moments notice.
  17. Oh God... I hope we aren't going to be have to do quests like that; kill the stray cats in the back alley with your two handed sword for the guardsman; mutilate the bothersome seagulls at the docks with your fireball for the fisherman... It's not a problem if you are actually hunting creatures (in a game that is) - and I emphasize hunting -, but most RPGs just make you feel like you are instigating massacres on various animals or creatures at the behest of some poor sod's conflict with the fact that other beings inhabit the same world. You can't even confront the man and say "Hey, listen man, I think you've got some serious problems... I'm not gonna lob my fireball on some seagulls, and I'm not going to obliterate into oblivion some stray cats with my two-handed sword - that's just grotesque.".
  18. Why not make it adjustable? Or rather, have the option to customize the difficulty, including when you want to be able to level up? That seems like a win-win situation to me, as it allows you to really tailor a large part of the experience without removing the experience the developers intend. Albeit, that requires that you know what each setting does, of course. So, in normal difficulty and under you can level up anywhere, and above only while resting. But if that doesn't satisfy you, then why not just customize it so that it floats your boat?
  19. I would say that leveling up is the growth of understanding as a whole; understanding being the coming together of intelligence and intellect, where intelligence is both the mind and the organism. We may gather lots of knowledge, but it's not until there is an understanding of that process that there is growth - which is when you level up. Albeit, I realize that this could actually happen in the field, so you would have to rest for the organism to 'level-up,' but for understanding, all that is needed is 'doing,' and you do that everywhere.
  20. Yeah, the free heal that comes with lvl-up does feel... weird. I mean, I've never had an insight which healed the itching mosquito bite...
  21. Level-up in the field while resting, otherwise in 'safe' areas. Yes, this means that if you don't manage your resources well, and thus, run out of supplies while out in the field, you won't be able to level-up until supplies are found or you're in a 'safe' area (towns, inns, stronghold, etc.).
  22. I see no problem in having the fullscreen level-up, but then again, it wouldn't bother me if it were a pop-up window. The background painting looks nice, that's a cool touch, but the char. model could be slightly 'decompressed' in its stature, or mass. It's as if it is being squeezed together, by itself and by the UI. So either perhaps 'decompress' the char. model, or have some more 'air' in the UI. Other than that I have no gripe with leveling up in fullscreen.
