Question is, are you ready to switch platform in order to buy KotOR 3? There's been rumor at the Gamespy forums and gaming-age-forums about KotOR 3 becoming a Ps3-exclusive.

Those high-quality graphics, but i wish that Epic would do something else instead of the UT-franchise.

If count the whole package, Deus Ex and System Shock 1&2 destroy all other games in the genre. But if you go down the core of FPS, the combat, there's only one game out there really: Halo. I still remember playing it on the xbox back 2001, there was simply nothing like it in terms of A.I., vehicles and graphics.

Agreed, imagine KotOR 1&2 and JE with ALL npc at the same time bantering and fighting among you? Hilarious!

There was a rumor about Obsidian making KotOR III in the march issue of Gameinformer. But one can render it obselete since Obsidian themselves confirmed that they're NOT working on it.

If there was an option for the male character to sodomize Atton, i could care less. Thinking that homosexuality is a main issue between LA and Bioware is just silly.

No reason to bump the thread. Dashus, Aurora or anyone else involved with the restoration project will surely bump it when they have some more news.

I was wrong comparing the FF-series to Jade Empire in the vein role-playing, but i still like VII, VIII and X more Anyhow, i'm interested how Jade Empire 2 will turn out to be. Maybe we'll finally see Phoenix Gate?

Do you mean the whole sending/Farplane business? That's sounds a bit far fetched IMO, almost every RPG seems to contain a spirit realm of some sort. But yes, Jade Empire is no Final Fantasy VII, VIII or X for that matter. But it's still a good game though.

It's called Xbox 360? Sounds like a new Volvo. -"Maybe i'll take the 360 for a test drive".... Oh btw, backwards compability is always a plus. Final Fantasy IX was released for the PS1 when the PS2 was released, that i didn't stop from selling millions, no matter what Playstation you had.

I can agree with volourn for most of the time, except on a few things: The music, the characters and the overall score. The music Yes, it's there and sounds like it should, but as a musician, i see no extraordinary about it. There are two tracks that i would consider good: The intro and hymn of the Water Dragon, but that's it, the rest ambient background music from a Tai Chi-video. Saying that it exceeds any of the Final Fantasy games in terms of great music is just wrong IMO There's certainly no song of the same calibre as "One winged Angel", "Liberi Fatali", "Fithos, Lusec, Wecos, Vinosec" or "To Zanarkand" on that soundtrack. Jack Wall might be competent, but he's no Nobou Uematsu. The Characters Sure a couple of them are really good, with The Black Whirlwind and Wild Flower as my favourites. But on the other hand, no game has impressed me with perfect characters yet. Overall score It's better than KotOR in graphics and combat, but it's no game that i would rave about for years to come. It's a great game (i'll give it an 8.5) but it falls short on story-pacing, length and linearity.

Nothing wrong with that tormented guy I'm glad someone liked it, i caught a slight "Malachor-cold" after playing the the last two chapters.

Done. I had to check the savegames to see if it was right, and it was: - Chapter 3 savegame: 22h 35min. - Chapter 7 (end boss) savegame: 26h 10min. The game was alright, i would give it an 8 in total. Sure the combat was fun, but the pace of the story gets worse after chapter 4, really speeding up way too fast. As for role-playing, it's the same or more than in the KotOR series. A good game (great in terms of graphics and combat), but it lacks that "omph" that a great game needs IMO.

I'm at chapter 5 now, things are really speeding up. Oh and the plottwist in chapter 4? For the first time i knew it before it happened (not just prior, but directly after chapter 1), a slight dissapointment there for me.

Well, well, i've 11 hours in and i'm at chapter 3, wandering the around the streets of Imperial City. While there's several occasions when you can role-play your character through dialogue-options (maybe even more than KotOR) it's not the "WTF OMG!!!11"-game that some people keep raving about. Sure the combat is fun, but i don't play games for the combat. So far, it feels more like an adventure game with RPG-elements, not that it's necessarily a bad thing. Pro's: - Combat - Art direction - Graphics - Some hilarious party members Con's: - Linear, way more than KotOR so far, think Final Fantasy X - The whole setting and feel (IMO) - Music, instead of moving, it's just there for most of the time - Customization and inventory I will not say anything about the story yet, but i smell some BG to it.
