I am not disagreeing of an official language, but what is revisionist in the linked article and what is the truth? I'm a bit of an history buff and i haven't heard about this story of Franklin before. -
UK Muslims targeted for speaking out about terror

Finally someone understood to debate the idea multiculturalism in itself. I was almost giving up hope. (Rostere that is) So the limit is set to common social ground for a nation is that everyone is equal to the law, which in turn is based on the moral and ethic conduct of the citizens. I do not think that our ideas on a multicultural society is that much different except i wouldn't call it multicultural, but rather one dominating culture with minority groups here and there. I think the only dividing point is that you seem to see it as enforceable ideal, where i see it as a byproduct of people meeting on their own terms without any outside force demanding it. I do not get why you got the idea of xenophobic isolation, when the point was more like you cannot make two adults have hugs and kisses just because the government thinks it is a swell idea and makes the lawmakers warm and fuzzy inside. What i am definately sceptical about is how multiculture is a self-correcting system. If that were the case, then was the Roman empire better of collapsing and was the introduction of the dark ages a multicultural highmark or a fluke in the grander scheme of things? Also, the United States is not as multicultural as you think. There is still a common creed, the american way, the american exceptionalism and the american dream. English is the spoken word in and the laws are written in english. People come from all over the world to become americans and to achieve the ideal of the nation. Sure they will add some extra holidays or have pop-song hit in another language, but in the cultural context that i just explained, they are leaving Korea and Somalia behind them (most of them anyway). So i do not see the "insult" here really. Europe however, does not have any nations built on ideals, which leaves it quite difficult for a nation to suddenly become multicultural over night. The swiss have managed it quite well though, but we have to remember that it was founded by the four groups of people (germans, french, italians and retoromans) to counter outside forces. It didn't go from completely italian to what it is today. I am not entirely sure what you mean about Japan though. Japanese culture is already accessible all over the place. What changes would your scenario be? -

The answer to the first question was?....But ok then, allow me to retort: 2) I asked why it was good and why society on a national scale should adopt as an agenda instead treating it as a byproduct of commerce between people, and by extension, nations. 3) Could you clarify? Should people be conditioned to like it? How? 4) Japan adopting a western sport is not what i am talking about, i am talking about a hypothetical Japan becoming a hub of Libyan, Angolan, French, Indian and Russian immigrants. You know, a truly multicultural society. It seems like you are talking about being friendly with other people (which is good btw). But I am talking about how it as political philosophy could be applied on nations. -
Sergei Eisenstein says hello. Also, this is another favourite of mine among modern Russian movies. For history buffs, there are also absolutely awesome Russian WW2 movies which sometimes use ACTUAL uniforms and locations. I can recommend the Seventeen Moments of Spring miniseries among others. Never seen his movies. However, "Come and see" by Klimov is also gem. I do not feel the need to watch another war-movie after that one.

I think that i have asked this before, but i will ask again: 1) What is the future of the nationstate for a nation that has previously been culturally homogenic? With no common ideals, traditions, laws or language that binds it together, what's left? 2) Why should a country become multucultural as a moral good? Why shouldn't it be seen as natural occurance of people moving and conducting commerce with each other without the need of it being a political agenda? 3) Should only first world countries become multicultural? Or is every country obliged to do so in the long run? 4) What will happen when there is no countries left with any distinct culture? What would be great about Japan being just an island, but with no distinctly japanese about it? -
Tarkovsky is the only noteworthy filmmaker from Russia. But a damn good one. Did i miss the racism-boat? I was under the assumption that it is exactly what Gorgon says it is.

So the only solutions left are 1) inflation to lower the value of the debt or 2) hope for exponential growth that would give greater revenue. Best of luck fellas!

That's only important for all the Lisa Simpsons in the world. The rest do not care one silch, have you guys forgotten what girls cared about during high-school? But no matter, this "ahwmyg-oood Becky! it's a woman!"-talk clouds the issue at hand: What is her policy compared to Bernanke? Will will actually change compared to her predecessor? I mean, i can find little changes between Greenspan and Bernanke to begin with.

Positive reenforcement. Provide free rides and instant revomal of passports upon arrival to destination. Everyone wins. "Tired of living with a bunch kuffars in a country that celebrates christmas instead of ramadan? Is the law of the land not Sharia enough for you? If so, apply now for the royal repartriation programme; offering one way rides to your muslim country of choice. Seek your spritual origins. Gain new closeness to your muslim peers. Choose the Royal Repartriation Programme." I suggest campaigning very vigorously in prisons, youth centers, and around places for religious celebration. For the real radicals that want to stay and turn the whole of Britain into a islam nation, you can always arrest them for being racists by proxy (hatecrime). Meaning that since they want to turn Britain into an Islam state, they are against multi-culture and that makes them in the eyes of law: racists. -
Are you guys saying that the games is ridicolously difficult and poses an insane difficulty level?

Any bets on Obama invoking section 4 in the 14th amendment? It would be....interesting.

I think that we all agree that the muslim world should embrace porn, black metal, bacon and alcohol and everything will work itself out. If you don't believe me, think of this: - "Drunken sluts from Medina doing it all: vol XII": "You thought that you've seen it all in vol XI? Hide your men and most of all, camels, it's springbreak in Medina!" - "Jihaddean Holocoust: Blood on the Kaaba": "The latest album from the infamous group that is suspected of numerous Mosque-burnings and goat sacrifices" - "Introducing the old family recipe from Amman, the legendary Al'humulah-smoked bacon now available on you camel-burger at your local McDonalds" - "This Camel-race was sponsored by 'Aisha's Tear'. The clearest Vodka for the toughest men. GIt yer drink on! (Allahu Drunku-bar!)"

If makers of Gurenn Lagann made a high school anime this would be what it looks like which is good since that's what it exactly is. I do not think that i have actually seen an anime since Gurren Lagann all those years ago, or atleast that is the newest anime that i remember seeing. Maybe i should check it out.

Pffft, what a loser. He should be grateful that they even were interested in his music. A true artist would be happy that more people are experiencing the results of his craft and not care one silch about any monetary gain. Ha ha ha ha ha. Really? You use my sh*t, you pay for my sh*t. I've got a mortgage and kids. Edit: Rockstar earned what? Eighty million on the opening week? And they don't pay the people who provided content? Jesus, talk about sticking up for The Man. Suckeeeer! You caught up to my bait like a salmon in a spring fjord :D I doubt that it will even get to court. R* will pay a sum of money for him to drop the charges.

Are you seriously comparing the situation for teenage in girls in north america to afghanistan? No, I was responding to this [silly] statement: "Al it takes for Islam to be threatened is a teenage girl with an opinion." Eventhough i find Islam to be one of the most spritiually repugnant religions out there, it is beside the point. My bad, carry on
