Does the user base of AC actually consist of millions of girls? I hardly know any girl owns a PC or a console. Signs of the times, i guess.

I think the point is that as the number of players/playable characters increases, the omission becomes more noticeable and jarring. In single-protagonist titles it's all rather arbitrary, but with four-player co-op such as in the new AC game, variety becomes more appreciated. By the time you get to larger scale multiplayer games like Unreal Tourney it's an expected feature, and attempting anything else in an MMO would be a ludicrous concept. Females make up 48% of the user base. Ubisoft continuing to unapologetically chase the old demographic is incredibly insulting. How much % of the market are: - Christian? - Any other religious following? - Asian? - Indian? - Communists? - Poor? - Slaves? Should they be less or more insulted by Ubisoft? Is Ubisoft morally obliged to cater any need of any insulted group, or do they have to rank them accordingly in a made up importancy-scale so that some are more equal than others? I wouldn't find this debacle irritating as much if it wasn't for this weak, not-really-angry-just-more-fake-dissapointed-attitude among these journalists. They do not really fight, they do not have their jobs and livelyhoods threathened because of what they do, they are not doing mass protests or boycotts, nothing is at stake. Just some mean and catty comments that they want something. It's this manifestation of weakness that i really find abhorrent. Ubisoft decision not carter big part of their customer base opens them up for critic from said part of their base and supporters. As customers have always right to ask that company also caters them and when we speak about big companies and customer base size of tens of millions, then it is quite natural that there is lots of critic when company decides not to cater people that consist about half of their customer base, especially if you are idiot in way you inform people about your decision not to cater them. We are not talking about the same thing here: I am talking about social justice journalists, you are talking about a potential customers for a product. Your point could be the same about customers being upset that there aren't Coca Cola-bewerages with a Pear taste because millions of potential customers might buy it because it might cater their needs since Pear eaters also like Coca-Cola. You do not happen to be a corporate lawyer, are you?

The Iraq war was a disgrace, but sometimes we forget just how much

The west are of course at fault for creating the power vacuum that exists now in the region. However, however the people themselves there are to be blamed as well. Anti-democratic, anti-modern and reactionary guerillas do not appear out thin air. They come from local homes, from local businesses with local values. Anything else would be like blaming the British for the American Civil War. -
Well, let me try: The big guy - "You think that you have killed many men on the battlefield?! I slaughtered more men that you ever have met" The weird girl - "Murderers, rapists and slavers, know this: There is, and will be no escape for your kind. When you are brought to justice, you will wish for your own death, as it is the only release from the pain that you will face" Took me about 5 minutes during a coffee-break.

As always: 1. The "wrong" team will win the finals 2. England will lose on penalties in the quarterfinals 3. Germany will win any penalty-shooting 4. The Italians will have their iron-wall defence, but attack in the most theatrical way possible 5. France will play against itself, not against other teams 6. Messi will not score a single goal 7. Suarez will cause global butthurt 8. The Dutch will completely fail or completely sail The only thing completely uncertain is Brazil, i have no idea on how they will play or succeed.

Thanks! That was what i was looking for; getting totally lost into the groove. But to be honest, jazz musicians in general play in their own division compared to rock/metal. Sure, there are some cross-overs like Zappa and Haake, but still...
-
While not as techical as those guys, here's Danny Carey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9DUndOx0gQ I always appriciate musicians that have that sense of good groove, even on drums.

I'm not following here. What's that Bieber-guy to do with racism?

I would go for the boobs, ass and booze, but definately not for the games.

I would say we should care about pirating purely on the principle. Even if you don't think it impacts the revenue stream of a company the real question you need to ask yourself is actually a simple one " what right do you have to play a game, without paying for it, that a company has spent months if not years developing? " Pirates do not exactly sail through the seas of rights. The simply take what they want. I think the more interesting question is how to deal with it and why it is stupid to portray them as murders and rapists (in the eyes of the law).
-
Should we even care about piracy? 10 years ago it was a big thing when the industry was caught pants down on that there were people offering the products faster, more reliable without DRM and for free, globally. Since then they have adapted with Netflix, Spotify, Steam and whatnot, only leaving the most hardcore ones that will never buy anything in any case. Also, haven't studies shown that people pretty much pirating when they start having a job? So what is the point again?

The best mod is the one no one notices....or something.

You would make a Ferrari out of fur? Just to cruise it to furry conventions and pick up some chicks dressed up as chicks? Because that would totally what I would do. The market has spoken.
-
See, there is a market for bigots shooting minorities after all. Ca-ching!
-
A small side note. I would most definitely pirate a car, let's say a Ferrari, when the 3D Printing will make it possible. However, since i will use different materials, only use it for my own, and label it "Furriri". That way Ferrari would be less interested in pursuing a court order on me since, well, it's not like i tarnishing their label in any serious manner. More like i would be the laughing stock in the local community. Heck, Ferrari could even launch their own "download"-page where you can order the "right" design and the right materials, only to a fraction of the price of the "real" version. The only legal binding for the user is to agree upon naming the model with an asterisk "-Lite" in the end. Hmm, there is money to be made here. Brb, i am busy starting a business venture!

Every thread must be dragged down. Maybe we should make a segregated forum for those posters? :D :D

Sounds like there is quite a lot of butthurt in SA society. Even if the cartoon never was tried in court for....uh what really? Clown racism?, you guys really have a long way to go in order to become a more open society.

True. They should revitalize the World Cup instead or reschedule the Championship to August instead. At least the former would be up to discussion again since it seems like there will be no NHL-players available for the next Olympics.
