Killing and murdering imaginary people should be fun and entertaining, not horrible and gruesome, because....reasons.

I hope you're not seriously comparing a Bioware romance scene to youporn. People other than you are capable of having their own opinions. This includes Valve. Yeah! Real bodily fluids are being wasted here compared to the imaginary ones in DA:I (No, i haven't played the game)

No. We can decide for our selves what's appropriate for us and what's not. We absolutely should not support this. Steam is too big and too important to let the moral police decide what choices an individual is permitted to have. Explain to me why is it necessary that your opinion gets to decide for other people? Look the reality is are you the best person to decide what games Steam distributes? You guys have no filters and I doubt anything would be considered inappropriate Also when it comes to real censorship you right it can be very subjective and hard to manage. But this is not this type of example, you just need to accept that Valve does know more about these things than most of us and they made the right decision Pray tell Bruce, then why is Postal 1, Postal 2, Manhunt and GTA V distributed on Steam? They have by your standard, the same filth. Either you are dumber than i think you are, or your trolling is really starting to show. //Edit: You seem to appeal to authority that some works are considered art are meant to be preserved and some should not. You do know that this is considered a logical fallacy, don't you?

^You should become a standup comedian with such insightful and satirical prose. But great news: the guy behind plebcomics got his job back. Great social justice done by the very people fighting against these Social Justice Warriors; kinda like that song by Alanis Morisette. http://plebcomics.tumblr.com/post/105298951388/today-has-been-one-hell-of-a-day-i-get-a-huge

Apparantly Hatred has been removed from Steam Greenlight. Don't worry fellas, it wasn't a 'game' to begin with, it was a murder-simulator. No one is taking your games away.

I find that opinion problematic and the picture reeks of toxic internalized misogyny. While i do not wish her silenced, do wish to have nothing to do with her (hopefully she ***** off to some island somewhere, kek) and advice all of you to do the same. Now, i would like to promote another game that features a genrebreaking theme, that deconstructs of the heteronormative narrative that we all now of. *The developers used to be my room-mate and is also my best friend* ^I think i covered the whole spectrum there.

That first comment //Edit: Wait, what? That #metalgate wasn't a joke? Oh well, they will not last long. Just wait until Rob Halford tells these people to go **** themselves or that Varg goes on burning down some publishing offices or throwing dismembered animal carcuses at these 'protests'. Seriously, metal has always been anti-conformity, rebellious and anti-authoritarian to its core. It is not a hug-box, it is not about feeling warm and fuzzy, it simply sees society as it is and wants no part of it. Either you play metal or you do not. These people do not with their 'ironic' Burzum t-shirts. Bah, i should read my own signature more (last quote), i'll leave with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6pVhFa4-Pc

This is a very interesting and relevant post I have never really thought about it like that, so you saying there is so much pressure on developers to write the " correct socially acceptable " minority character that's it easier to not create any. So is the criticism that bad around minority characters that people feel aren't done correctly ? This would be a major problem if it was widespread because then you are right and certain SJ initiatives and people are not helping with transformation You're learning, young padawan. Remember that AAA-studios are risk aversive by nature; now what kind of characters in our society are accepted to be faulty, or more important: simply human? I recommend reading the Galbrush-scenario in the earlier thread.

If Obama doesn't veto this, it means a green light for the rest of the world skip any pretense of caring about that pesky 'privacy' thing as well. These kinds of things are always open to abuse, and we all know how easy it is to combat abuse when government agencies are doing it legally.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry

Okay I believe you, but that has nothing to do with the point that hookers can and should be removed from the GTA game design ? You are truly hopeless. Ask yourself why game design should have "problamatic" or "toxic" elements that should be "removed" to begin with. Why should the creation process of the designer be decided on the whims of someone else outside that process? The only correct answer is it shouldn't, unless you do not believe in freedom of expression. Then you are excused. This is the same spurious argument you guys keep making in the objection to my suggestion and that article Its a not a question of " creative process" because as far as hookers are concerned in the GTA world there are only female hookers So how is that creative, its not. Its selective and it will make no difference to your GTA experience if you remove hookers from the game? How could that possibly effect your gaming experience, it baffles me all this resistance to a reasonable suggestion. So now the onus on you is to tell me why this would fundamentally change how you play GTA? All this disagreement from you guys is obviously a knee-jerk reaction because you see this as " SJW trying to change my gaming experience " And its not, nothing in GTA will change except for the fact you won't see hookers anymore You still fail to comprehend that this is a question of freedom of expression. Are you that daft? It is not about the quality of the gaming experience, how can you not see that? You are actively trying to directly or indirectly control how an artist express themselves. Please go to China with your "sensibilities" and "reasonable" censorship and see how wonderfully it works when someone tries to control you, and most importantly your thoughts, in the name of everyone else. It is utterly unreasonable on every level unless you're a authoritarian. Polygon are simply completely despicable in this. -

What i have learned from the last couple of pages is that choice of labor on imaginary characters is of great importance in game design. So important that people should censor themselves during the creation process. -
