  1. I am jealous of your pc specs. Poor me, I can't afford a better computer right now.
  2. The thing I didn't particularly understand is how he continued his electric attack after he saw its ineffectiveness. It is possible he sacrificed his face to gain sympathy from Anakin (so he would attack Mace) and the Senate (so they would believe the Jedi attacked him), but damn that's cold.
  3. "Merchandising! Where the real money from the movie is made!" - Yogurt Ah, I love Spaceballs.
  4. I too would enjoy actually going through the training process, as opposed to it being glossed over as in KOTOR I (though I know the reason it was). Few games take the time or effort to adequately explain how the characters received their skills, instead sending them directly into the world. Even those games that do usually start at the ending challenge for their training. However, I am unsure how feasible this is due to the fact they have a set narrative to spin. Certainly, it could be worked in, however, by a smart developer.
  5. My guess would be just to listen to the dialogue, but as television is a audio-visual medium, so much would be missed without one or the other as to render it almost unintelligible (not really, but you get my point). I actually once did an experiment where I watched a show three times: once with just the picture, once with just the sound, and finally with both. The first time I could tell their mood but missed the narrative. In the second, I got the gist of the tale but missed the subtleties captured in body language, etc. Only in the third with both aspects does it come together and give you the full experience.
  6. Unfortunately, with the direction this country is headed, I am unsure whether the pharmaceutical firms will have the chance to proceed far enough in this research to even begin to generate funds. While I do not consider myself patriotic, I am concerned with quality of life. The longer the U.S. waits, the farther behind we fall in this field (and in many others considered morally objectionable). This, in turn, leads to delays in other related fields, and while the rest of the technological world advances, we would be left in the genetic "stone age." Eventually, unless this issue is resolved in a mutually agreeable fashion (hopefully, in the positive), we would be unable to breach the gap between our medical technology and that of other countries. While I do not consider it a necessarily bad thing that Americans (I know; Mexico and Canada are in North America too.) are set to be startled out of their supposed inherent superiority by growing Chinese economic might, I believe democracy should survive as the dominant sociopolitical order. Yet when a group of religious fanatics (of any religion) overtake reason and attempt to impose their beliefs and morals on others, all that occurs is the slow downfall of the republic into a dictatorial theocracy. Already one member of my family is considering relocating to escape the growing religious grip on the United States. Bush and his cronies are a sign of the impending times and I for one am not enamored of his vision.
  7. Hooray for Di!
  8. Um...if you mean how to open a zip file, download winzip. If not, your question isnt clear. P.S. I'll feel embarassed for you. :">
  9. I'll give $10 to the first person who can accurately draw a picture of this (to my satisfaction), and post it up! :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My undead demonic sperm whale :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its an anthropomorphic vampire bunny head attached to a flying red cape! Run for your lives!
  10. You shame my meager words with your insightful post. :">
  11. Personally, I haven't played it, so I wouldnt know. My prior post was an extrapolation of jaguar's analogy, which admittedly I might have misinterpreted.
  12. The link doesnt work. I went to their homepage, and it said testing is available by invitation only, anyway.
  13. Either slightly better or even worse, Im guessing, depending upon his point of view.
  14. You're right! He does look like Skaara. (Even bigger sci-fi geek.)
  15. You can delete the extra threads by using the moderation pulldown menu at the bottom left hand corner. Also, did you need to crosspost this?
  16. I concur.
  17. Sony is famous for their hype of the PS2 and their failure to live up these boasts. I wouldnt be surprised if a similar event occured with the PS3. Indeed, many, if not all, of the PS3 demonstrations were prerendered tech demos. Also, the X360 games shown at E3 were running on alpha dev kits using around a third of the actual next-generation console's power. And I would like to say this is based on what I have read. I too have not yet formed an opinion on which is superior, and will most likely buy both if they have games I want.
  18. While errors were made, they cannot be laid solely at Obsidian's door. Lucasarts rushed the game in the desire to release it before Christmas. I am sure OE will take their time with other upcoming games.
  19. Really? This hasnt been fixed yet? It was rampant when I last regularly visited around December.
  20. I think it started out as a legitimate concept, and only turned into a con when Infinium Labs realized they couldnt produce. Especially as the technology they depended upon (the ability to play games while still downloading them by spontaneously callling up needed code) was neither owned nor developed by them.
  21. In KOTOR II, INT is more important than WIS, unless you are playing a predominant force user.
  22. Given that in the end the graphical difference between the PS3 and 360 will be barely noticeable, I believe the franchise will stick with the Xbox/X360. And in case anyone did not understand my smiley comments to the Phantom, the Phantom is a proposed console that would download PC games and allow you to play them on your tv. Despite the large amount of investments, it turned out a farce, with only around 5 prototypes produced, and will almost definitely never be released.
