That would, of course, depend upon a range of selections for race, which should be included.

Given the size of the galaxy, Id think it to be unlikely all planets have been discovered. Perhaps a game based around a first-contact situation, where you can choose the role of the natives or the diplomats? I see more opportunities for continuity with a native character, but for those who want to play a known race they can always be the explorers. It would not even be necessary to create a new sentient species (animals, plants, and such would almost definitely be new), though that would be preferable. There are many instances in the SW universe where colonies have been lost/protesters have left for unknown locations. Its possible that this planet is inhabited by such a group who have forgotten the rest of the galaxy. Maybe theyve regressed technologically, or some such. They might even have their own Force tradition, for those who wanted Force powers. It could then progress into a sequel where your character (whether the same one or not) has left the planet for the rest of the galaxy. This could be due to a desire to explore, a response to foreign corporate expansion on the home world, or practically any stimuli which the devs could think up.

I have my IRC program set to connect to certain servers and channels automatically when I open it. So I had forgotten about the menu.

All servers (that I know of) follow the protocol irc.something.net This one is no different. Since you have mIRC, just type on your status page: /server irc.psionics.net That should be all you need to do. If you have already joined another server and dont want to leave that one, type /server -m irc.psionics.net This will open up a new connection window. Once joined, create or join a channel and so forth.

I think I suggested this a long while ago and received no response. Unfortunately, I see the same fate for this thread.

Of course, it wouldnt taste very good at all. Antarctic sea animals produce a chemical resembling antifreeze to allow them to survive the low temperature extremes. I havent tried it personally, but Ive heard the chemical ruins the flavor of the meat.

Ive used irc.psionics.net for most of my online games. It has a built in dicebot named BoxCars, so all you have to do is /invite boxcars #channelname and he will show up. Then type @dice to activate him. From there, just type @roll and the dice you want to roll. He can do up to 20 instances of a 100 sided dice in one command: @roll 20d100. You can do any variation below those values. Also, you can add or subtract from the value depending upon bonuses or penalties, etc. You can even add 2 different dice rolls: @roll d20 + 5d6 will give you a number between 7 and 50. Finally, you can type for ..... at the end of the roll command to signify what action you are rolling. Be careful not to include the word for in the action even as part of another word or it will foul up the works. I once had this problem when I tried to do a roll for gathering information.

I have a confession to make. I asked for your preferences for two reason: 1) I wanted to give Alanschu a chance to submit a list and 2) I had accidentally deleted two lists. Unfortunately, only one of these problems (the second) was resolved. I have still not received a list from Alanschu. And so not as to penalize the other players, Alanschu will receive whatever country is not chosen. Sorry for anyone it may inconvenience. These will be due by tomorrow at 1600 UTC, so that we may start the same day. Assuming we do, the deadline for Spring 1901 is next Monday at 1200 UTC.

Ultimately, it is up to the players, though I'd recommend starting with a weekly schedule (Spring and Fall each equal 1 week, with Winter being the weekend after Fall). This will allow newer players to adjust to the rules, and nurture more diplomacy. If the players later decide to speed up, then so be it.

A question: Why is my quit message in what I can only assume is Portuguese?

Heh. Better than me. It crashes and/or freezes my system whenever I try to start a game. I believe it is because of the opening cinematic, but Im not sure. As of yet, I havent even gotten to character creation.

Actually, "Polito" explains the ghosts are the result of your cybernetic implants. Most of them are unimportant, but a few provide clues, albeit obvious ones, as to your next move. I have now progressed to the Rickenbacker (something like that) Pod 2. So far, I have decided my most hated enemies are thos damn cyborg ninja assassin things. Their energy shurikens are most evil. As for the part that freaked me out the most, it has occurred several times. Its when you hear an enemy and youre on edge looking for them, then you turn a corner and theyre right in front of you. I swear I had a small spasm and knocked over the keyboard every time that happened.

Sorry, been a little busy. (System Shock 2 calls to me...) Anyway, we still have only 6 players. So far my attempts to locate the final member have been met with failure.
