April 13, 20187 yr Hi ! So Deadfire is looking increasingly amazing and my past "worries" are slowly making way to a relentless HYPE. (I still have a few issues (proficiency modals, ...), but I can live with them for release) That being said, performance still seems to be an issue for me. I recently upgraded my computer (i5 7400, AMD rx 580, 16 gb ddr4 ram) and while not being a beast, its pretty decent. Yet, loading times when launching the game and in character creation are still pretty slow. FPS is generally consistent (60 fps) except in those moments. Should we expect more optimizations for launch or is beta 4 the best it gets ? Thanks ! Edited April 13, 20187 yr by dukeisaac
April 13, 20187 yr I hope so. For me its not consistant 60fps, and while not running a beast machine... well, I would like to be able to run it well, or be able to downgrade graphics enough to be able to run it well. Right now its a bit rough.

Right now its a bit rough. I hope so too. I bought two extra digital copies for buddies and I'd like them to experience deadfire in all its glory. Unfortunately, they have older computers, so I'm hoping some efforts are put into optimization. Edited April 13, 20187 yr by dukeisaac
April 13, 20187 yr I have not had any major issues. I run the following: i5 6000 Skylake GTX 1070 16 gb ddr4 ram I don't know what your 580 compares to when it comes to Nvidia/AMD. That could be your bottleneck possibly (or AMD as a whole ). My only issue currently is the widescreen resolution bug in the current beta build. I've been told it's fixed but not implemented in the current beta. Edited April 13, 20187 yr by Jayngo
April 13, 20187 yr I'm running an i7-2600K CPU at 3.4Ghz with 16 gigs of ram, a Radeon RX 560 video card, and 4 terabytes of hard drive storage. I've had no issues of any sort with the beta, except for some jerky movement on the overland map that is rather annoying.

I've been told it's fixed but not implemented in the current beta. I'm not too familiar with video cards and all, so that might be the issue. In any case it is totally playable and the in-game loadings are good. Its just really slow on character screen loading (I expect that's were most of the details are though, so it makes sense).
April 13, 20187 yr In the latest beta the game itself runs smooth as a mountain spring. But the map mode chugs a bit, and I am hoping it's improved by launch.
April 13, 20187 yr The sand blights after the Titan fight sink my FPS big time. Rest of the game is pretty smooth. Edited April 13, 20187 yr by AndreaColombo "Time is not your enemy.
