Can new people play also?

Sure thing! Though please send me the list via PM with points distributed between them! Check the OP for more info on the rules. :p

Question: Could i mention more games than 25, but with 125p limit?

There are many games which deserve 1 point as honorable mention.

Unfortunately no, because your vote is worth more than the points themselves. The points act as tie-breaker between the games with equal amount of votes.

Sunless Sea

Wow. I forgot all about Sunless Sea. Talk about underrated, probably one of the better rpg's out there in terms of storyline.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

Yeah, Sunless Sea really surprised me. I approached it with trepidation, but it absolutely shines. Talk about a game that really hits you. Anything that can be that goofy, funny, strange, irritating, suspenseful, and sad at the same time simply must be on any list of top games. I doubt that it makes the end list, but it deserves to be.

This community list was an excellent idea. Algorth did a great job. In fact, giving us 25 games and 125 points forced me to give serious thought to which games were on the list and how to rank them. I'm sure my list doesn't perfectly reflect every factor. I'm sure it could be better. ...But I'm happy with my list and my rankings.

I ultimately used the criteria of how often I'd played the game; ie games I came back to again and again.  Still had around~30 games though so then had to make some hard choices.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I doubt that it makes the end list, but it deserves to be.

Unfortunately populaity trumps all. Mass popularity never meant quality, in this life or the next. Which is strange considering that most people think "It must be good because everyone likes it" but all evidence points to the contrary in terms of the gaming community.

Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

If you play on nightmare it actually becomes unfun if all you do is lone wolf or **** around. It also had a better community early on.

I can play Left 4 Dead 2 with just 3 other people?

Yeah, that to. It's easy enough to find good people to play with. Even just by friending the few people that you enjoyed from match making.

Found it pretty difficult to do a top 25, though I did eventually. I could do a top 10 or a top 50 easily- top 10 are absolute favourites but I have a lot of tier 2 titles that I like a lot but aren't quite top 10. For interest's sake here's my top 50(!) I worked down from. I also made an executive decision to exclude Elex and Witcher 3 which I played very recently. They'd probably make it in a year but at the moment I don't have enough perspective on them.

25 made the cut, 25 didn't.

Mount and Blade and Privateer are good ones, I can't believe I forgot them.

Can I ask why the people who picked Dungeon Keeper 2 did so over the original?

Personally, I played Dungeon Keeper 2 before the 1st and had a lot of problems getting the original to run (no sound, iirc). I'm not sure I ever finished DK1 as a result though I replayed a lot of it when EA gave the game away a year or so ago.

I feel the same way about IWD (the original). There's just no way to create a list like this without forgetting something great. I'm happy with my list, but on any given day there would be some changes. The top five, however, are the top five in mine. I allocated 55 points to the top five and then tinkered very little with the rest of the distribution.

I can't name 25 games that I like.

If you'd like, you can try to come up with as many as you can and split between them a total number of points equal to five per game you've mentioned. I'll be adding this as a possibility for those who can't name 25 games (though naming 25 would be optimal).

There is a suspicious lack of Deus Ex's

only because thegame isn't all that. :D
