I made peanut butter bread. I had two slices with a little bit of strawberry preserves (home grown and canned!) for lunch with black coffee. It that was the last meal I ever eat it was a great way to go out!

What sauce were they in?

Mediterranean

Never saw it before but decided to buy 25 anyways because if it was bad then I'd just rinse it off and eat it with hot sauce and maybe mustard.

Canned sardines are great, but I usually just go with ones in spiced olive oil (the ones from Nuri) and then put them on some tasty buttered rye bread and onions.

Or combine everything into a nice spread, i.e. sarindes, butter, hard boiled eggs, onions and pickles. Season to your liking (garlic, pepper, etc.).

I made myself couscous and baked fish for supper, I love couscous because it basically goes with any meal and is healthy. It absorbs liquid so when I cook it in boiling water I always add stock so you can create  different flavors  which livens up the taste as its bland by itself 🍲

This post also goes out to Hurlshot.

Sadly, the store was out of sardines in mustard sauce, so I had to settle for hot sauce.

I also got a package in olive oil for variety. Gonna chop up some onions and go to town on a tin or two later.

What's that "sad" supposed to mean, Hurlshot? You don't like herring either?

Although when it comes to fish steaks in sauce I'd very much rather go with mackerel or tuna. Herring is best pickled and with onions and some hot sauce (and yes, onions, not gherkins, silly Germans :p).

Mmmmm. Supposedly cure hangover, but yeah, as you guys probably know, nothing cures a hangover except copius amounts of mineralized water and time.

I am eating Great Value (because I'm a cheapskate) feta cheese stuffed green olives... with a toothpick. I'm just sticking the toothpick into an olive and pulling it out of the jar and into my mouth. #LivingTheDream

I made Placki Ziemniaczane (Polish Potato Pancakes)

axgNTZh.jpg

J4lhrDX.jpg

Not much to it, it's just finely grated potatoes, finely grated onion, and eggs to bind. Salt, pepper, and paprika to season and chives and parsley to garnish. Simple and delicious.

Potatoes, eggs, carrots, peas, pickles, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and paprika. The key is getting the balance between sweet and sour just right. Add more pickles if it's too sweet. Add more peas or carrots if it's too sour.

It was one of my CPT  brothers wives 30th birthday on Friday so my sister planned a  surprise lockdown " dine-in " experience with the excellent restaurant below, it involved 6 courses which were absolutely delicious. The best part was seeing some of my family again in person, first time in over 70  days

^ I recall being 10-ish and sorta liking smoked oysters in tins for some strange reason (maybe because I sneaked them from mom's pantry so it was like "forbidden"), but I think I wouldn't like them at all now.  Sardines (in a tin/can) are just gross. 😛

I keep trying to take a picture of my soup that I've been eating for lunch a lot, but the tablet indoor pic quality makes it look really unappetizing so I gave up.
Mostly living on that and fried rice in the evening (just a little olive oil, no egg, small pork bits, with tons of bok choy in it, then kim chi mixed into it).  Wondering if I'm getting enough calories tho, since I stopped eating large portions of anything.  Just not hungry/fill up fast most of the time. Haven't even gained the weight back that I lost while sick, heh.  I tried adding some walnuts as the snackfood but eh.
