There is a ongoing terrorist attack in Mali where terrorist are holding 170 people in hotel.

 

Media sources say jihadists, no knowledge if they belong ISIS or boko haran or some other group

 

Probably Al Qaeda in the Sahel, they were 'allied' with the local Tuareg rebels in northern Mali. Some of them may have defected to ISIS though. Boko Haram seems unlikely as they'd probably go for one of the neighbours who had intervened against them and they're actually a long way away from Bamako.

Actually she is right in a way, that there are more western people, who get long term work permits, and with it long term stay, in Asia and Africa than vice versa.

EDIT: But another fact is, as ktchong mentioned in this thread many many pages before, the well educated Asian people, which could bring capital to Europe as well, have issue to get work permit in EU. Which is IMO ridiculous :-/

Makes sense if you think about it. It's already hard for highly educated native population to get jobs. Plus the language and cultural barrier.

 

And the reverse is true as well.

well not really, IT sector was lacking 500000 positions in EU in 2015, which could not be filled by any EU candidates. Because of lack of required education.

The Israeli security is very effective and Hamas control the main military strategy against Israel...ISIS isn't aligned to Hamas so  it would be very tough for ISIS to operate in places like Gaza and the West Bank

In other news...I love this...The UN General Assembly's human right committee on Thursday adopted a Saudi-drafted resolution condemning Iranian and Russian intervention in Syria. 

 

The non-binding resolution, authored by Saudi Arabia and co-sponsored by Qatar and other Arab nations, the United States and other Western powers, was adopted by the 193-nation assembly.

I frikin love the hypocrisy of the very countries pushing this resolution that actually created ISIS, a genocidal organization that devoured two countries. Now condemning the only two countries that actually are fighting ISIS.

 

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Gulf countries and United States helped the growth of Islamic Jihadist more than any other countries in the world. Shows just how these countries don't give a rats ass about anything but mapping the picture of the world to their benefit and interest. The price doesn't matter at all.

Name me an invention that moved the world forward in the last 500years coming from any other region than EU and in the last 100years from "The West".

 

this is just BS.

 

It is sad though as before Islam Arabic region was one of the most advanced if not the most advanced. Middle East  advanced very fast and the only region competing with them was Ancient Greece and Mandarins' ruled China, at the times when they brough paper, gunpowder and built the Great Wall.

 

Religion and stiff traditions in each region caused so called Dark Ages, but EU managed to move away from the rule of church and religion over their life, while at the same time spirit of co-operation and compasion among regular masses was maintained. Nations were forced to compete against each other fiercly, but mostly through building wealth and advancing knowledge that would give edge over other countries in the region also in the scope of the military power.

 

To be honest it is Islam's own fault or actually the priests that rule the Islam world together with its 'kings' that they were on poor technoligcal level. Dumb masses are easier to control, but that control comes at a price of low technological advancement and once the various regions clashed, the one with superior technology won.

 

Islam is around 300-400 years behind other religions in mentality, and people following it, will either adapt, or will be put on siderails for a very long time... Oil is a finite resource. If not for it though, the middle east would be nothing on the world map, probably of the same significance like some african country which has no natural resources.

Saudi has been on the Human Rights' Council since September. There was a minor scandal because the UK actively helped them to get on it in a vote trading deal. As with most non security council things about the UN it has no practical power, at least, and tends to be used for diplomatic trolling more than anything else.

 

(ISIS does occasionally attack Israel, one of the 'jokes' about the conflict is that Al Qaeda and ISIS fire off mortars into Israel and Israel responds by, uh, attacking the government. It's why some of the more snarky observers have started calling Israel "Al Qaeda's air force" since this happens every time the government gets too close to the Golan)
