Supreme Court: Same-sex couples can marry in all 50 states

And our first challenger, in the red corner, Texas!

So basically they are saying that they can refuse to do their job as public servants, on religious grounds. ...can they actually do that? And if they can, could I exercise my discretion to pay taxes on moral grounds? Heh.

I foresee lawsuits... lots of lawsuits.

Freedom of Religion protects a lot crazy things; still I don't see how forcing anyone to things against their will is a good thing. I thought the whole thing about gay marriage was so they had the same rights not to force homophobes to marry them.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

No, I agree. However a public servant has a duty to serve the public, and my question would be, rather, if that duty could supersede their 1st Amendment rights, considering that nobody is actually conscripted into public service positions as far as I'm aware.

No to the first ....  that argument has been tried numerous times and has always ended badly for the people trying it. Not only would you be subject to fines and penalties, but you could be hit with charges of tax fraud.

Anyone who files a return or other submission to the IRS based on one or more of these frivolous tax arguments is subject to an IRS penalty of $5,000. In addition, if you take a position the IRS deems frivolous, the IRS will not only require that you pay your taxes due, but can also impose a 20% accuracy-related penalty and a whopping 75% civil fraud penalty.

Note:  The frivolous tax arguments (as defined by the IRS) include invoking the First amendment and refusing to pay taxes on religious or moral grounds.   You can try but you won't like the results.

As to the Texas lawsuits.  You bet -  right after the first Texas judge / justice of the peace / or clerk fails to marry or issue a license for a same sex couple, you can expect a legal challenge.  Given SCOTUS' ruling, it's inconceivable that a lower court would rule in favor of the discrimination.  But if some whack job did, it would be swiftly overturned.

Lucky for society no one is. It's up to them whether they want to do their job, but if they don't they wouldn't be entitled to their employment as they object to it on a religious basis. Always strange to see religious people be upset that an irreligious institution like the government act irreligious.

Always strange when people make a public scandal when a company denies an application based on religion; so they bend over backwards to accommodate them rather than face a suit. Which is why i'm not too keen on Muslim underwear models.

Reproduction rates are only vital in so far as the village population { i.e. a flock of birds, to a country full of birds }.

If the whole country's reproduction rates are too high we will overpopulate, thus we don't have everyone reproducing, for that would be silly. Instead, we have balanced reproduction occurring in the village populations { near equal amount of males and females }. We may spend our whole lives thinking we're a country but most of us only interact with nearby people... It's the village population that matters. I disagree with homosexuality in media, and homosexual promotion to non-homosexuals. We don't know much about why homosexuality occurs, and many homosexuals would cling onto any answer even if they didn't know.

However, homosexuals don't make a choice, and homosexuals deserve human rights; just not sanctification above or equal to heterosexuals. I am someone who believes homosexuals should be isolated, together, with possible blending with society just secretive. I'm unsure about how it would work out but isolation does work.

Truth be told it wouldn't matter if homosexuals made a choice or not. Homosexuality isn't a problem or flaw.

I am someone who believes homosexuals should be isolated, together, with possible blending with society just secretive. I'm unsure about how it would work out but isolation does work.

There is no reason why homosexuals should be isolated and doing so would only cause problems.

1) There's nothing wrong with homosexuality in media.

2) There's nothing wrong with promoting homosexuality to non-homosexuals.

3) It's true that we don't know for sure why homosexuality occurs; that is however, a meaningless fact as why it occurs isn't important.

Homosexuals enjoy their gay pride, isolation would be like a holiday.

The ones whom would enjoy isolation are already self isolating. No purpose in isolating those whom haven't made the decision to isolate themselves for whatever reason some one would want to be isolated for.

If you think that argument bit more you find that it really don't hold any closer scrutiny.

And even if we leave all sense, logic and decently behind us, how do you even begin to plan actual isolation of population group which members can born to any family in any social, economical, ethnic, religious, cultural, etc. group that there are and they don't have any visible marks or clear test that would reveal their sexual orientation. And in this your isolation system do bisexual had to decide between living with other people or living isolation or is it based on some random system?

I don't think it's possible, but if they stopped advertising this rainbow low caliber clothing  'style of gay', and forcing down our throats with sad stories and aggressive feminine ( but from a male ) attitudes, making us all look like an abomination. I'd have no problem, not even patronizing homosexuality, if the majority of them stopped being this stupid. They can live happily without a lisp, they can live happily without feminine acting. It's not a thing that comes with gay, feminine acting and general sexual stupidity ( promoting it like porn in daylight - "I'm here in daylight because I have sex with men, and there's hundreds of us, you should join in" ). To be honest, all emotions aside for a second, it's unnecessary and making us look weak and abnormal, begging for combat. It's also provocative for a lot of people are homophobic and it's even broadcast now. They get so much attention, they've reached the peak now surely. I would HATE to see it carry on from this point, gay-pride, but sure be gay.

So you say people should stop publicly liking, practicing or exercising anything they like because some other people don't necessary like how they behave, like for example people should not wear fan shirts, symbols, flags, bandanas, religious symbols etc., go concerts,  conventions, exhibitions, religious events, sporting events, etc..

Gay prides are only events where people celebrate something in their lives and make public demonstration that they have people like them exist and they have right to exists.

I also would point out that your premise that they promote one style of gay is absolute wrong, and that feminine acting don't have anything to do being gay and association of such trait to gays is actually product of media (movies and tv-series) that more often than not give such behavior for their gay characters when there is one in the movie/tv-series. So feminine acting is trait that our society demands from the gays so that they can be gays.

Out of curiosity, how many gay people have you actually met in person? Because I've met a couple handfuls and none of them acted like the popular TV / pride parade stereotype. In fact, most of them hated the stereotype much more vehemently than you do.

Wow, I don't think you very informed about Gay Pride

I go every year to the one in Johannesburg..... have you ever been to Gay Pride?  Do you spend hours watching the event if you don't go ?

What do you mean by "forcing down our throats with sad stories and aggressive feminine" ....are we forced to watch Gay Pride ?
