Jagermann Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I find the loading screen to be boring and monotonous without a loading bar. What do people think about putting a more interesting loading screen in the game with those little lore tidbits and a loading bar>?
Sensuki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 A loading bar would be good, yep. I'd prefer if the tips were optional. I'd rather not see them. 2
Seari Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) The images used for the loading screens are too sharp IMO. I hope they use some kind of filter on them in the final release. I do like the concept a lot. Edited October 26, 2014 by Seari
Sensuki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) In Icewind Dale I believe they painted over them. Right now they do look a bit too much like a screenshot of a 3D level. I'm not sure if Kaz will have time to paint them over before release as there's lots of other stuff to do. WTB more art time for Polina or another 2D artist pls. Edited October 26, 2014 by Sensuki 4
Quantics Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I thought the loading screens were fine TBH. Maybe a bit sharp yes. And I agree a loading bar would be welcome.
Karkarov Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Lul you guys went from no loading screen at all to some nice high quality cool looking loading screens and you complain ;p. Sure a loading bar would be nice, but it isn't "required" and the screens themselves look great.
Sensuki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 A loading bar and a touch up of the screens would make them perfect though, although I'm not sure they can afford the art time for it.
wanderon Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Personally I'd rather have loading times so fast there was no need for a loading bar LOL! As for the sharpness - I like it myself but then I'm a photographer not a painter... (and I agree that sometimes it seems people would complain if you hung them with a new rope! ) 1 Nomadic Wayfarer of the Obsidian Order Not all those that wander are lost...
Sensuki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 By 'sharpness' I think he means that you can blatantly tell that it's rendered from a 3D scene, as the detail gets worse in the distance. The Ruins in the Dyrford picture look particularly bad at a distance. 2
IndiraLightfoot Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 They are absolutely fine. Loading bars are so yesterday. Loading tranquillity is the new black. *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***
Seari Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I don't really care about loading bars, I'm fine with how it is now.
Sensuki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Bits like this in the back of the scene stand out to me (you have to view the picture full size). It's not a big deal, but I do notice it. Don't think they have the art time to touch stuff like that up though. Edited October 26, 2014 by Sensuki
Seari Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I really like what they did with the loading screens in MotB.
Starwars Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I think they are fine as is, but some simple filter could be applied just to soften them up slightly but I definitely think they are fine as they are. And they really feel "old-school" to me as well, it's rather nice. Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
bragi Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Personally, I'm fine with the sharp picture. The loading bar would be nice, though.
