Blodhemn Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 My significant other was the same. There was nothing Obama did that granted him support in her eyes other than the narrative that Obama is a good guy who tucks his kids into bed at night and "cares", while Romney doesn't care about the 47%. The idea that a vote against Romney was a vote for Obamacare is diminished even more when factoring in that Romney had his own form of healthcare as governor, that included funding for abortions. Basically the election came down to which candidate seemingly cares more. It took precedent even over the economy.
PK htiw klaw eriF Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I voted for Obama because I bet $30 he would win the general election and the electoral college. ManifestedISO Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Mine evaporated last week. Thankfully I have no dependents, and I'm always healthy. Pretty sure it's Big Healthcare that put my existing policy on the block, naturally reacting to government intervention like all private monopolies would. It's not the ACA out for my wallet, it's the healthcare market that wants no part of profit-drains like pre-existing conditions. Big business fighting big government--what a titanic waste of time. 1 All Stop. On Screen.

That bites. You might check the exchanges for catastrophic coverage. It's usually much cheaper. Thankfully (!) my coverage is still in effect, although the medical premiums went up for the second straight year by 10%. Comparable coverage policies thru the ACA exchanges would double my premiums at the least (I checked). And there wasn't a comparably priced plan at any level. Even the bronze plans were 50% more costly.
Nepenthe Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Here in socialist eurolandia, my health insurance cost tripled this year after the ECJ outlawed gender-based profiling as a basis of insurance pricing. A big thanks to all the hypochondriacs of the female persuasion. Of course, the same package covers injuries accumulated in the pursuit of, say, skydiving, so I guess it's only fair I pay for it. No, I'm claiming I used to get a whole lot of use from a bunch of guys who had private health insurance and would still consider "unmanly" going to the doctor if they still have all their limbs remaining. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
HoonDing Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Good thing I never get sick. *sneezes* The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
