Cantousent Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Happy Easter, everyone! If you're a fellow christian of some stripe or another, I hope you enjoy church and have a great celebration. If you celebrate the holiday sans religion, then I hope you enjoy a restful day with family and friends. If you don't celebrate Easter at all, then may you enjoy something during the day in which you find joy, even if it's the perfect cup of coffee or a great night's sleep. I normally send wishes on the holiday, but I'm going to be out of town. Have a great weekend, all. 1 Fionavar's Holliday Wishes to all members of our online community: Happy Holidays Join the revelry at the Obsidian Plays channel:Obsidian Plays Remembering tarna, Phosphor, Metadigital, and Visceris. Gorth Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 If you celebrate the holiday sans religion, then I hope you enjoy a restful day with family and friends. Happy Easter to you too old friend. Back in the old country, we used to celebrate the Easter brew (a seasonal beer) by consuming large quantities of it. They don't have quite the same traditions in this Odin forsaken country down here, so I'll settle for some red wine, a few chocolate eggs and a new book “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Gorgon Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 (edited) What are we celebrating again. Bunny > Jesus > ? > profit. P Edited April 7, 2012 by Gorgon Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

Hurlshort Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Happy Easter as well. My kids will be searching for eggs tomorrow morning for sure. Although it doesn't really feel like spring yet, it is still very cold here in California. I still haven't found a church in my area that I'm comfortable attending, but we'll still make it a special day.
HoonDing Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Meanwhile, in the Philippines. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Rosbjerg Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Some people in the Philippines crucify themselves every year to show their compassion with the suffering of Christ. Fortune favors the bald.
Gorth Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Some people in the Philippines crucify themselves every year to show their compassion with the suffering of Christ. Yeah. Malcador Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Filipinos are hardcore, man. Or completely insane. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Humodour Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Honestly, I prefer the Filipino tradition of voluntary crucifixion over the ridiculous consumer whore parade that Easter has become in English-speaking countries.
Morgoth Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Honestly, I prefer the Filipino tradition of voluntary crucifixion over the ridiculous consumer whore parade that Easter has become in English-speaking countries. Tradition, by mutilation people. uh huh. No thanks. I take the consumer paradise over this barbarism anytime, anywhere. Rain makes everything better.
Labadal Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Happy Easter to you all. On Tuesday, I'll have to work out like I have never done before. *eats another egg*

This might come as a surprise to you, but there are also lots of people in Austria who are into causing themselves pain. How they choose to do it doesn't really have any relevance, whether we condone of the acts or not. Edited April 8, 2012 by Krezack
Gorgon Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 A few extra chocolate eggs and seasonal beers on sale. That's about it. How do you get from there to consumer orgy. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

Unless we're talking about some Muslim groups that commit honor murdering, but that's not my point. Edited April 8, 2012 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Rosbjerg Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I think he was referring to masochists, suicides, cutters etc that we have a lot of here in the west - and that doing it for a religious purpose is not worse than doing it for a sexual one. 1 Fortune favors the bald.
Nonek Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 May Eostre bring you all new dawnings and the joy of youth, Ferthu Hal. Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!
Walsingham Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Merry Easter to anyone not so mentally tangled that they can't just wish someone a merry anything without analysing it fifteen ****ing ways from Sunday. 1 "It wasn't lies. Malcador Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Interesting thought if Christ suddenly changed his mind after Gethsemane. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Darth InSidious Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Happy Pascha, everyone. Honestly, I prefer the Filipino tradition of voluntary crucifixion over the ridiculous consumer whore parade that Easter has become in English-speaking countries. Is it possible to only like one or the other? Personally I'm no more a fan of acts of extreme self-mutilation than I am of orgiastic consumerism. Interesting thought if Christ suddenly changed his mind after Gethsemane. Call me old-fashioned, but I thought that was the point of the Agony in the Garden. This particularly rapid, unintelligible patter isn't generally heard, and if it is, it doesn't matter.
Nepenthe Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 So we can post pics of guys being nailed to crosses but can't say ****pit? You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
