funcroc Posted September 9, 2011 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Obsidian is hiring a VFX artist Responsibilities:- Create compelling real-time visual effects for characters, environments, and gameplay - Work with the Lead Artists, Technical Artists and Tools Programmers to create and augment proprietary effect toolset Research visual effect creation processes - Optimize assets to run at acceptable frame-rates and fit within memory limitations - Keep abreast of changes and improvements made to the game engine and production pipeline during development Obsidian's VFX artist Jay Bakke (AP, DS3) recently worked as lead artist on DS3: Treasures of the Sun. My most recently-released videogame work has been user-interface art and animation for "Dungeon Siege III" at Obsidian Entertainment, which was released by Square-Enix in June 2011. For the Summer, I have been living in Hangzhou, China and working as Creative Director for an international early childhood educational franchise company. Here I am leading a team of artists and graphic designers who are creating materials for promotional events, advertising, curriculum, interior design, and merchandise - both for our company and for our franchisees.
