ACTI is in the wrong. It's so obvious except to ACTI fanboys. Scumbag pieces ofc rap acti ARE. Kidnapper,s bully, stalkers, and a low form of 'human'. No doubt about it.

prove to me they ar einnocent.. good luck, b/c you can't.

Never said that they were entirely innocent dingus, but I also am not gonna believe that they're guilty based on hearsay like you.

Prove to me they are guilty. PROVE it, don't just say it and masquerade your on methane as truth.

Hasn't Activision stated that they denied paying Infinity Ward their bonuses? Or was it just that they denied paying West and Zampella?

It's kind of confused at this point. West and Zamp got fired without their bonuses because of Acti saying they breached their contract and were basically holding the game hostage. They certainly didn't get their bonuses, and sued. BUT included in the suit is the bonuses to their staff. I think Acti said that they'd pay the bonuses to all who'd stay with the company and hadn't terminated, but I'd have to re-read the complaints to figure it all out.

Right now acti's counter suit in including EA is that EA basically head-hunted the staff of IW right out from Acti triggering breaches of contract and a violation of business law. If the breach of contract is proven then nobody is owed any bonuses.

One of the major points that West and Zamp were trying to ride on when this all came out was that MW2 was the best selling game of all time (attributing it's own awesomeness to themselves), and yet Black Ops beat the tar out of it.

One thing that bugs me about West and Zamp is that they've done something similar before for similar reasons. Ostensibly when they left it was because they felt they were being pigeonholed into making the same game over and over, which is exactly the same reason they left Radical(? I think that's the name, the guys who did Medal of Honor Allied Assault) and then they promptly went and made almost the same game (Call of Duty).

"If the breach of contract is proven then nobody is owed any bonuses."

This isn't neccessarily. It's about the time frame, the wording of the contract itself, etc., etc.

If the contract states they were owed a bonus if the game sold y copies ACTI owes them that money. Period.

If they breached the contract then ACTI could see and win.

But, they cannot legally withold bonuses.

Bottom line, ACTI cannot make the determination that the contratc was breeched. That's up to a court of law. ACTI blew it by acting out of the realm of their power. And, they withheld bonuses from multiple emplyees not just the two dinks.

"I think Acti said that they'd pay the bonuses to all who'd stay with the company and hadn't terminated,"

Which is (one) of the many reasons why ACTI is evil. This is blackmail, Tyranny, and scumminess. If the contract stated the employees were owed bonuses you pay them their bonuses for their work period.

If ACTI is so goody two shoes and the two dinks are evil incarnate why have many of the employees also fled ACTI wave after wave.

The current incarnation of this subdivision can't even handle their won work and now have other divisions helping them b/c they've been gutted by ACTI being careless, evil, scummy, greedy, lawbreakers, kidnapping, theiving bullying, initidating duchbags at ACTI.

Again, the bonuses schtick depends on the wording of the contract, if the contract states "Infinity Ward" gets the bonuses, then the employees who left don't get squat and it's their own damn fault.

Eh... if the bonuses were written in such a way that it only went to people that remained with the company rather than as a reward for their hard work, then it does little to endear me to Activision and makes me hope they lose out simply out of spite. Because actions like this are a huge problem with the industry as far as I'm concerned.

Especially considering the employees are likely going to be removed from the negotiations of such a thing. Kind of like a boss that hopes you quit so that he doesn't have to pay you severance.

I'll go shoot myself in the head instead of having to see one more post of amateur contract lawyers arguing a case they know nothing about.

One down, only several million more to go!

Nice try, but that likely wouldn't hold up in court. Sorry, dude. Since the argument could be made that the employees in question were employees at the time the bonus was actually earned.

My godz, are people so in love with evil like ACTI they'll twist anything so their beloved evil cans crew over the innocent?

So you're letting Volourn get you riled up then? Because there's plenty of examples of Volourn supporting businesses (even those not named BioWare) for the business first decisions that they make.

Just as people accused of crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, people who defend Axivision are fanboys until proven differently. It's the law.

Exactly. I'm business first, but not evil first. I support companies doing things to make money but things like holding people hostage, blackmail, bullying, and threats are unacceptable. That's why ACTI is evil.

I don't care if a bigger company buys out a smaller company. i don't care if Blizzard deciudes to be pricks and release Diablo 3 the same day BIO releases DA2 just to eat into DA2 sales. That's business.

P.S. I don't care what the law thinks in the end. Even if the court rules in favor of ACTI they will still be evil sucmbags who steal others money, inprison people, and do toehr evil stuff. Scumbags. Period.

Sorry. 'Tis the truth, and the truth hurts.

I don't understand Sony's handheld strategy at all. They have joint venture with Ericsson in mobile phone biz. Now thay haven't had great success lately in phone biz but why separate phone and handheld devices in the age of iPhones and numerous Android devices. PSP2 should be phone with 4G.

Let's play Alpha Protocol

Sony still believes there's a place for hardcore game players in the handheld market, thus the PSP2. By hardcore, they're referring to the type of player who wants to play 25 hour Zelda's or 100+ hour Monster Hunter type of games.

Just look at the type of games that are popular on the Android/iOS platforms: throw angry birds at objects and toss crumpled paper in waste baskets.. Sure, they only cost like $1, they're still overpriced.

I've heard rumours of the PSP2 being powerful enough to be able to use at home too. That way you could play some game on the commute to work, and when you get home you connect it to your TV and continue playing on there. If that is true, then I am definitely interested.

Don't you dare diss Angry Birds. You get over 200 levels for that dollar and they're constantly adding new stuff free of charge.

THIS A THOUSAND TIMES OVER. I remember some Capcom rep saying that hardcore gamers were abandoning traditional handhelds for smartphones. It is simply not true. Smartphones have much more limited controls due to the touch screen being the only common element amongst them, and let's face it, they simply aren't very good for games that have traditionally been popular on handhelds of late, eg. platformers (Super Mario, Daxter), action games (such as Monster Hunter and God of War), racing games (Mario Kart), and RPGs with complicated menu systems. Even with a workaround it just doesn't compare.

Was the original PSP a success for Sony? It seemed to be a failure, but who knows what their expectations were.

I just hope they don't expect to match the Nintendo handheld numbers. There is one very successful handheld gaming device on the market, and I don't think the PSP2 is going to be it.

Whether the PSP was a success for Sony, it has been a joke for a while now. From when it was hacked and massively pirated to when the PSP Go came out and Sony mismanaged the crap out of it to its pathetic sales numbers in the last two years or so.

No idea what to think of the PSP2. I really hope the UMD is finally gone at least...

PSP has not been a failure. Things were bad on the software side in NA, and hardware wise it hasn't been great in NA the last two years, but it is thriving in Japan. It sells in great numbers and there is even a shortage becuase of the high demand. It was the bestselling gaming hardware last year (JP), and sales have been good so far. Sony has every reason to be happy with the machine, considering it was their first attempt on the handheld market. Despite the piracy, it survived.

There are also some very interesting games coming out that will push even more hardware:

Dissidia 2: Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy: Type-0

Valkyria Chronicles 3

And a few more games.
