... that looks incredibly dodgy. Well, I have them, anyway. :x

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

Real easy to get setup, works fine with Windows 7 x64 too :x

I came up with Crate 3.0 technology.

Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.

Tempted, but no. The fmvs are love and the soundtrack is excellent, but the gameplay is so dated compared to say Red Alert 2, that I don't think I could struggle through the campaing again and especially not the skirmish mode, urgh.

It's real, in case any of you are hesitating.

I have the original, but anyone who hasn't played it should do it just for the awesome FMVs.

Wasn't Tiberium Sun the worst of Westwood's RTSes?

It had cyborgs with railguns.

I rest my case.

If I didn't already own them I would definitely pick this up. I love Tiberian Sun, Firestorm was decent. Game play was quite good and while dated still is better then some of the stuff out there today.

Mutant with railgun, no?

Mutant cyborg?

According to the internets it was "Cyborg Commando".

EDIT: Looking further, it seems the previous internets were wrong

Still an awesome game, though.

IIRC it was the ghost unit and the mammoth Mk2 that had the rail guns.

Biggest problem with the game that I remember is that the Nod crew had arty that could hit from 8 miles with perfect shots, and it's killer drones were amazing.

Oh, and GDI's "murder them all" tool was weaker than aluminum foil for being killed.

That was the NOD unit (railgun GDI guy was the Stalker IIRC) and shot dangerous tiberium-snot-orbs.

I loved Tiberian Sun. It was awesome.

Me too. Though I couldn't play it now at gunpoint :ermm:

Why would playing it be any different from playing Fallout or Baldur's Gate?

I still play Red Alert 1 every now and then.

I'd imagine the difference is that there are modern equivalents of Command and Conquer to play nowadays, while the same is not true for Fallout.

That doesn't make the old games any worse or replace them.

That's like not being able to play Doom anymore because Modern Warfare 2 exists.

Loved the Westwood C&C games. Wonder if they'll make RA2 free, way too much time wasted on that. The Mammoth Mk II was useful like the Mammoth in C&C, good for taking down a defended base but that was it. Disruptor tanks were the best.

No, its because they entertained me as a kid. Firing C&C TS up now will be ruining a childhood fantasy :ermm:

The game is actually pretty sucky

For me, it's as sucky as it was when I first played it, which isn't all that sucky.

I guess I've always been a jaded cynic...

What was sucky about Tiberian Sun ?

Engineers.
