Humodour
So to celebrate my first pay check of my new job finally coming in, I finally bought some games on GOG (the DRM-free, download as many times as you want factor was really enticing). Some of them I've played before, most of them are new. I bought: Spellforce The Longest Journey Beyond Good and Evil Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Incoming + Incoming Forces (hmm I should probably pick up Descent) Far Cry Jagged Alliance 2 Sacrifice What else do you suggest I buy off there? What the are epics you'd buy from there? Edited October 14, 2009 by Krezack
Pidesco
Settlers 2, Gothic 2 and and Disciples 2 are all good options and of the gold variety. SteveThaiBinh
The Broken Sword games are great, if you liked The Longest Journey. Simon the Sorceror 1 & 2 are also good, but don't bother with 3. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Humanoid
Headliners for me, but stuff everyone would already have anyway (and excluding previously mentioned titles): HoMM3 IL-2 Sturmovik And the miscellaneous pile: Beneath A Steel Sky Capitalism Pro Pinball (I'm bored with the free Windows one) Seven Kingdoms (can't remember if the sequel was any good) Lords of Magic Republic Oddworld and er... Purkake
Let's see: Ground Control Commandos Giants: Citizen Kabuto I also liked Gorky 17(Odium) and Septerra Core back in the day(but I don't know if you'd like them). EDIT: The Incredible Machine games were also pretty cool, if you like that kind of puzzle games. Good choices, btw. Morgoth
How about you play first your bought games, before you buy new stuff? Rain makes everything better.
Purkake
Better safe than sorry. Also no DRM means that you can happily download them and burn them on discs or whatever.
Humodour
How about you play first your bought games, before you buy new stuff? What kind of advice is that dude? I'm a gamer. In fact my degree at university is game design. Gaming is my thing. I will be playing games for decades to come. If a game is available and I have the money, it makes sense to buy it, regardless of when I plan to play it. Thanks anyway. Besides, the Australian dollar is extremely high against the USD right now. And while it will probably even hit parity soon, it's high enough right now that I'd rather buy now than risk forgetting to buy them and only remembering again when the USD is worth 2 AUD. As for everyone else, cheers guys, I'll take a look at them all. I'll definitely add Giants to my list. Didn't know it was on there. It will also be good to have digital copies of Fallout. Sannom
Question : aren't the two Freespace given for free by the original developper? I remember it surprised many people that GOG would sell those games, because they were already given away by the original rights owner...
Majek
No? The source code was released but i don't know about whole games. So only the engine but not the game data. Like Quake or Doom. Rostere
I remember Incoming had a good soundtrack. Do you also get the soundtrack when you buy the game on GOG? Purkake
Check the game profiles, each of them has at least some extra stuff(sountracks, wallpapers, manuals, etc.) Incoming only has the manual apparently.
