Gfted1 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 ...but it does have the island from Lost. And your plane crashes when you fly over it. Heh, thats pretty cool. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Purkake Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 The only real complaint that some people have had is with the story, but from what I've seen the missions themselves are varied and super crazy. Only played one mission, it was standard "go and kill these guys, but make sure these guys live" I saw the opening story missions which included grappling up an awesome twin tower casino and rescuing a dude from the skybridge between them while getting shot at by helicopters and defending a dude by riding on top of his old ass car and tethering military jeeps to each other/lamps posts/bridge supports or just blowing them up spectacularly. As for the Win 7 thing, I recently changed to it as well and there's no way I'm going back to XP ever.

I was talking about the faction missions that come after that.
Purkake Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 Yeah, I guess those might be less awesome than the "main" missions, but on the plus side you can always hijack a military jet and blow up some giant oil silos when you get bored
vault_overseer Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 The problem is, you have to find it.Which means that you have to spend few hours driving around, trying to find stuff. Another problem, is that unless you do missions, you will have problems with ammo. So you kinda have to do some side missions before you can fully enjoy the game. Kinda like FFXIII.
Purkake Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 Going by NeoGAF's comments(again), most people did the 2 or 3 compulsory missions and then went on to do crazy stuff in the world finding tons of military jets/helicopters/tanks along the way. Also, unlike FFXIII the whole world is opened up ~20 minutes into the game.
Hurlshort Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I've been laying waste to stuff all over the place. I blew up an oil rig today, it was phenomenal. This game is extremely impressive.
RPGmasterBoo Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I've been laying waste to stuff all over the place. I blew up an oil rig today, it was phenomenal. This game is extremely impressive. I sense much anger in you Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Hurlshort Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Actually, at first I was a bit hesitant about blowing up gas stations and water tanks. I mean pulling down statues and blowing up military bases is one thing, but the other stuff seems a lot more terrorist-y. But then I realized I get cool giant numbers that flash across the screen as I blow stuff up, and my moral compunctions faded.
vault_overseer Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) This game is the female breasts! Edited April 5, 2010 by vault_overseer
Purkake Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) Wow, that is some high praise man! Actually, at first I was a bit hesitant about blowing up gas stations and water tanks. I mean pulling down statues and blowing up military bases is one thing, but the other stuff seems a lot more terrorist-y. But then I realized I get cool giant numbers that flash across the screen as I blow stuff up, and my moral compunctions faded. You're not exactly on a charity mission. Your goal is to cause enough dissent and unrest to make the people overthrow the current anti-USA dictator and hopefully replace him with someone more pro-USA. Edited April 5, 2010 by Purkake
HoonDing Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 So from what I've read, this game is similar to Total Overdose? Insane stunts & numbers on the screen and all that? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Purkake Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) You could always check the trailers or the demo. Basically Total Overdose was more about the score and style, while this one is more about have an open world and making your own fun. More Red Faction: Guerrilla with more vehicles and prettier locales and less Total Overdose. The main similarity is that both are crazy and embrace it, though Just Cause 2 is slightly more grounded in reality. Edited April 6, 2010 by Purkake
Hurlshort Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 The real amazing thing about Just Cause 2 is the huge open world that is remarkably well crafted. I flew up to a giant airship last night, I was surprised how high up it really was.
