This game is the final thing it took to convince me to get one - a DS Lite that is, as the DSi will include region coding... Only 140 $ (canadian), half as expensive as it is here O_o

One of the enemies is a Karnovski. It looks like a fat dude that breathes fire. Awesome.

If you like dungeon crawlers, Etrian Odyssey 1 and 2 (also Atlus) have pretty old-school gameplay. You even have to draw your own maps. Though it has girly anime art, so not for manly men.

I got Etrian Odyssey 2, but I didn't like how it seemed to want to force me to have some of every job class to finish quests and move forward plus I got kinda bored with it.

(yeah, I kind of got bored with EO1 as I got near the end-game and traded it away)

It was a neat game, but not as good as I'd hoped.

 

Hopefully The Dark Spire will be more to my liking!

That depends on whether it'll be full of repetitive battles that play mostly the same, being based mostly on endurance rather than actual tactics in battle.
