Morgoth
Sony has more important things to attend to, like Home, instead of creating PS2 BC and offering PS2 games for download. Can't concentrate on stuff people actually want to have, can't we, Sony? Rain makes everything better.

Hurlshort
I bought a PS3 tonight. I was tired of my 360 having hardware issues, I'm on my 3rd one in the last year. I figured I should trade it in for some moola before it goes belly up again. With all my games and stuff I got $250 in trade in. I used that to buy the $400 80 gig model. I also picked up MGS4 and Saints Row 2. I owned Saints Row 2 on the 360, and it was the best game ever, so I don't regret buying it again. I'm mostly stoked about the Blu-Ray, although I was planning on waiting until I upgraded my TV. I figure the new TV will be a purchase for the end of the year, so now I'm ready. The only thing I'm going to miss on the 360 is Netflix.

Enoch
Well, they may not be butterflies and lollipops, but Flower has gotten rave reviews. Anybody here try it? Edited March 12, 2009 by Enoch
Llyranor
I have Flower. It's okay. I guess it's a short relaxing experience that looks nice and has soothing music. It's not a 'gameplay' game, though, and is overhyped by the 'games are art lol' crowd. I can't say how artistic it really is, but it doesn't have the most compelling gameplay ever. If anything, Noby Noby Boy is more artistic. You play as Nick, and you walk around eating humans and dogs and space monkeys. You control both your face and your bum independantly, so you can eat stuff while pooping it back out using separate controls. If you get cut in half, you eat your own bum to get it back. Yeah, games are art, yeah. Edited March 12, 2009 by Llyranor (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
rainwarrior
The "software emulation" version is only half-software. They still had to put the PS2's graphics chip in there. When they took that out of the more recent models to lower the cost a little, they gave up on backwards compatibility. I have one of the old 80gig half-software versions, and I'll actually say that the backwards compatibility is really good. I've played through a lot of PS2 games on it, and the only one it had a problem with was Rampage Total Destruction, and when I finally played that on a PS2 I realized it was trying to do me a favour. Noby Noby Boy is a lot more fun than it should be. I've spent a lot of hours on it, and I'm not sure why. Well worth $5. Has anyone mentioned Pixeljunk Monsters? That game was really, really addictive.
Llyranor
Demo was nice, but I'm not a huge fan of Tower Defense. As to why Noby is fun, it's pretty obvious. You eat your own bum. Also, (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

Llyranor
For you PS3 apologists, latest ESRB rating: Worms Platform: PlayStation 3 Rating: Everyone 10+ Content descriptors: Language, Mild Cartoon Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes Rating summary: This is 2D turn-based strategy game in which players control worms in a battle to be the last man (worm) standing. Players take turns positioning their worms around fantastical landscapes and use a variety of over-the-top weapons (bazookas, dynamite, exploding sheep, a Concrete Donkey, etc.) to defeat opponents' worms. Explosions and gunfire can be heard frequently, as well as rapid-fire expletives uttered during the heat of battle (e.g., "a*s," "damn" and "hell"). Llyranor
Looks like they're finally patching R2. Releases March 26th. - 2P retains xp gains now for splitscreen - Superhuman co-op mode; harder difficulty, no auto-respawns, and bonus XP There'll also be a map pack, though I'm not sure what that actually entails. It's 6 bucks, but I'm not necessarily sold on it, since it'll probably be primarily PvP maps. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
