Walsingham
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7294812.stm EA games looking to buy Rockstar. I for one hate this idea. I love the GTA franchise, but EA will pulp it for sure. I would certainly stop buying GTA without question, and thereby probably not buy at all, given my limited games budget. "It wasn't lies. Hurlshort
I don't think EA can possibly do worse than Take Two has managed to do over the years. Seriously, that was one badly managed publisher.
Calax
didn't Take two turn down the offer and promptly get a stock boost from the proposed offer? IIRC they thought that the 2 billion offer was a bit of a slap in the face. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off. Tale
The executives turned it down. EA is now appealing to the stockholders. It should be interesting to note that Take Two is being sued by one of their own stockholders for the previous refusal. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater." Hardly. It is only the basic premises of the GTA games that have stayed the same, otherwise most everything changes. From your point of view every DnD CRPG is the same DnD CRPG over and over again. Kaftan Barlast
if you go by the changes that EA have made to other companies theyve bought, nothing much would happen to the already existing franchises. What might happen to rockstar is that they would have a harder time getting ideas for new IPs through DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. Kelverin
Not familiar with most of their non-sports titles, but I can't see EA supporting a game that has all the baggage that comes with the GTA series. ? Hurlshort
I think the GTA series makes enough money for them to try.
