taks
hehe, only a few of the shows listed here were around when i was a child. looney toons (and by extension, merrie melodies), tom and jerry and a few others were big on my list. in fact, we got my son a compilation DVD of some looney tunes for xmas. i still watch old bugs bunny/daffy duck shows on occasion. what i dislike, however, is that many are edited to the point that the jokes no longer make sense. fallout from our politically correct, always paranoid of the impact of cartoons on our children, way of the world. oh well. oh, my fave now is futurama. all-time, actually. i got the new movie ready for viewing on xmas-eve in spite of the plug for gore's movie. oh, i used to watch the animaniacs at the bar i managed in the mid-90s. i'd get in at 4:00 and didn't really see any customers till 5:00. in the mean time, i had the animaniacs up on our big-screen TV (20 foot projection) while i ate some mickey D's for lunch... taks comrade taks... just because. Musopticon?
I used to watch and like a lot of what has been linked so far, particularly TMNT, Darkwing Duck and good old Ducktales. Here's some that I used to adore: The New Adventures of Johnny Quest I remember understanding nothing about the series, except that there was bitchin' 3d effects. Disney's Aladdin animated series Biker Mice from Mars My god, I had a nostalgasm, it's been so long. The New "Adventures" of Winnie the Pooh Yeah, I had to. Legend of Zelda animated series People, learn your hyperlinking. Also, all the American voice overs for these shows have been a multitude of gay so far(just watch Zelda ffs). We dubbed all cartoons back then and especially the Disney voices were brilliant, often the same that dubbed the movies. Yup. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
ramza
Just 3 more: Sonic the hedgehog Samurai Pizza cats Sharky and George The peek area for cartoons were the 80s and early 90s. I really feel sorry for those kids who watch today's poor quality pc-made cartoons. Ours were hand-drawn 100%. And the opening songs just rocked! All we get today are manga-inspired stuff. It's not that I dislike animes, quite the opposite... It's just that western comics and cartoons should have kept their own style. I could list many other cartoons but those are mostly european, belgian and french to be more specific. I don't think you would recognize them...
