DSLuke Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Nobody said that MMORPGs are dying, only we wished they were. (well I may have said it but I didn't mean it that way) I think that the only dying MMORPG is Star Wars Galaxies. Does anyone know how many still play it? And by the light of the moon He prays for their beauty not doom
Laozi Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 "Shapeshift!!!!! Nose to the wind!!!!" People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Barzarel Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Well bioware are officially recruiting people atm for a mmo game so there is a chance it could be Kotor online, but again i suppose one never really knows, but still strikes me odd if george lucas having most his assets tied in papers and bonds would throw on a wild shot of making indian jones computer game without knowing that the sequal indian jones 4 is i a success or not, but who knows he might surprise me.
Dark Wastl Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Well bioware are officially recruiting people atm for a mmo game so there is a chance it could be Kotor online, but again i suppose one never really knows, but still strikes me odd if george lucas having most his assets tied in papers and bonds would throw on a wild shot of making indian jones computer game without knowing that the sequal indian jones 4 is i a success or not, but who knows he might surprise me. Bioware is working on an MMO for almost two years now, it doesn't have to be connected in any way to the cooperation with LucasArts. There are already two IJ-games on the way, and everybody knows that the new movie will be a success. It might not turn out to be as popular as the old movies, but that doesn't say anything about success. The Bioware-LucasArts cooperation could be pretty much everything. It could be an MMO, but it doesn't have to be, it could be a Star Wars game, but again, it doesn't have to be. Some things are more likely than others, but assumptions won't get you any further, because there is nothing to base them on.
Bytor Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Can't really see how this would work. For a game series that is based on a continual story, how would MMORPG suit any type of continuation. I know it was done with the Final Fantasy series with FFXI, but that isn't a continual series. Also got to say I didn't bother with that one. "I tried the most potent Noise Amplification spell once upon a time. Mavellous spell. I could hear the birds speaking to one another in trees over the horizon, I could hear the rustlings as the clouds rubbed against each other in the sky. I could hear the sound a rainbow makes as it arches it's back over the world. Then a dog barked behind me and I burst my left eardrum."
Jediphile Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Well bioware are officially recruiting people atm for a mmo game so there is a chance it could be Kotor online Actually, it cannot, since Lucasarts has already said that is not the case. http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/852/852342p1.html While I don't always credit IGN with dependable news, I do trust it when they quote the company directly for saying the LA/Bioware project has nothing to do with KotOR. This doesn't rule out the possibility that it's Star Wars related, however, just KotOR. Personally I think it's an MMORPG based on the years between Episodes III and IV, which is also where the live-action tv series is set chronologically, and which is to air next year when this game supposedly is to be released. Visit my KotOR blog at Deadly Forums.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Why was this dug up? "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Magister Lajciak Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Why was this dug up? When no new rumors arise on a popular topic and there is little else to discuss, old rumors naturally resurface. It's one of the laws of the internet.
Bass-GameMaster Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) Now some of you should think of kotor online. As a good thing. Why? Because it could ressurect sag which I play but could of been done better. What ever is to come, lucas has enough since to prolong the kotor franchise. Because Frankly numbers don't lie Edited March 16, 2008 by Bass-GameMaster ""Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things, Revan
