July 4, 200718 yr http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/07/sonys-lost-excl.html Something went seriously wrong there... MS seems to be winning the big contest. My huge NWN mod: Tortured Hearts I. And the sequel: Tortured Hearts II.
July 4, 200718 yr I think it's because MS's systems are much cheaper and easier to get into the hands of the consumers. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
July 4, 200718 yr But as gamers, we win in either case, yay! July 4, 200718 yr The idea of exclusive games is idiotic anyway. The more platforms you release a game for, the bigger the sales. July 4, 200718 yr The banter back and forth afterwards is priceless People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
July 4, 200718 yr The idea of exclusive games is idiotic anyway. The more platforms you release a game for, the bigger the sales. Games tailored for a specific platform are of much higher quality a lot of the time though.
July 4, 200718 yr The idea of exclusive games is idiotic anyway. The more platforms you release a game for, the bigger the sales. Yes, but if the developer gets a bucketload of money from the console maker just for the exclusiveness, it kind of offsets the fewer sales problem. Especially, if the other consoles are selling like ass (as in PS2 vs Gamecube/Xbox.) "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
July 4, 200718 yr So why does it seem that Sony is digging its own grave? I suppose one reason they didn't sign exclusive deals with some of the companies in question is because they were confident of their system's competitiveness in the multi-platform market and didn't want to spend the extra $$$, but is that really wise? Still, one can't criticize a trend towards multi-platform games too much. There are doors

July 6, 200718 yr David Cage is some wannabe director that thinks all gamers are secretly necrophiliacs. Most of us are, but that's still pretty pretentious. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
July 6, 200718 yr Necrophilia aside, i liked Fahrenheit. Heavy Rain seems to be the step in the right direction as well--->Necrophilia in HD! July 6, 200718 yr David Cage is some wannabe director that thinks all gamers are secretly necrophiliacs. Most of us are, but that's still pretty pretentious. Wannabe director or not, he doesn't flow with the waves, he has it's own idea where "interactive entertainment" (note he doesn't like to use the term "games") should go. At least we won't get another shallow "oh I've seen that 1000times before" game from him. The industry needs more brave men like him, and less necrophiliacs like Llyranor! Yes. Rain makes everything better.

Sometimesthe guys not going with the flow are just using a different stream than you think. So many people got excited about Indigo Prophecy like it was something new and revolutionary. I think they've just never played an adventure game before. About all he did was introduce movie-style cinematography into an adventure game. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

Agreed, if I want to play mop the floor minigames with groovy camera angles then i'm better off mopping the floor of my kitchen. Maybe then i'd stop getting explosive diarrhea. July 6, 200718 yr So you still prefer combining bananas with pots and cat hair in order to advance the story line? Sorry dude, these aren't the 90s anymore. Floor mopping > silly inventory puzzles. Rain makes everything better.
July 6, 200718 yr When contextually it makes sense, then yeah, I do. Esspically since comedy > pseudo intellectual matrix crap. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
July 6, 200718 yr Whatever. You can look forward to your banana comedy, I'll look forward to the next Quantic Dream game. Rain makes everything better.
July 6, 200718 yr I still have fond memories of combining the tufts of sasquatch hair with the collected tar, the suit, and my partner. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
