Or maybe a SEGA exec just points a gun at Jasons head and shouts: "If you answer, then then.... I'm not your best friend anymore!!!!".

Considering the kind of crap SEGA has pulled the last years I'd think that a lot of people doesn't want to be their friends..

I never cared about SEGA until lately. They've published Condemned and are the sugar daddies of Creative Assembly, and in addition they have a deal with Obsidian, so that's good news to me.

Berserk, apart from that Sonic game that sega were rushed out with

they have done nothing short of great all year..

I'm a big fan of sega and they make wicked games

(bit of an arcade game nut)

you'll see more evidence of there great stuff in the future though

as there moveing into the PC market in a big way.

Are you sega-soldier by any chance? We had a member called that once. He had a crush on Sega and he had the same stumped writing style as you have.

They did manage to get Virtual On franchise converted into an extremely popular Strategy RPG game in Japan though it wasn't them who develop it.

I'm excited about this, but please Obsidian don't put lots of wacky alien designs in the game. I don't know how you'd get around the repetitiveness of the enemies otherwise but I hope it doesn't turn into Gremlins 2.

There's not much way to make it an RPG if you can play as an Alien. There would be no NPC interaction, and you wouldn't even be able to make a Diablo clone, because they don't use equipment, nor have any barter system. It'd just be another AVP Alien campaign, and that's not what I'd expect from Obsidian.

 

I'm really hoping they go with the Alien angle instead of the Aliens angle, that is, the PC not being a hardened marine-type, but some blue-collar slob forced into a situation in which he becomes a hardened marine-type over time. I'd see RPG potential in that.

I wouldn't mind a combination of the two, have one ordinary joe stuck in an situation with a horde of Xenomorphs. If I can't get a true System Shock I can at least get the second best.

Why is everyone assuming it's going to be a CRPG? For all we know it could be something closer to an action RPG.

May be a console style rpg with turn-based battles, aliens with huge eyes and marines with high-school uniforms.
