let it snow

If the next winter went by with the temperature never going below the freezing point, I'd be happy. Yeah, snow is nice to look at, for a day or two. Then it just begins to remind me of cold and death. By March I'll be ready to sell my soul just to have it all be gone. When you have to live with it six months a year, snow isn't something you look forward to.

6 months a year? Wow... Up here we really don't get that much snow, but we do get a lot of cold temperatures. There have been times when we wouldn't have temperatures above 30 degrees F for weeks. Also our winters tend to run into late march and even April, then suddenly the temperatures will skyrocket.

Try to run 20km in snow with 33kg of equipment on you.....and you learn to hate snow really easy really fast...

It has suddenly become very cold and damp here. We lost that continental, almost tropical weathermass and it's quickly starting to feel like autumn here.

It was like that for a little bit but then the weather was all "HAHA FOOLED U" and went back to acting like summer. I think the nights and days are a little bit cooler but only just, and the temperatures were really high this year so it's like a normal summer as compared to a "Why can't I just curl up and die now?" summer. Which incidentally some people did do, heat stroke and all.

It is moving towards autumn here. Autumn is what you colonials would have if you could spell difficult words.

 

Soon the neighbour's garden will be alight with salamandrine flickers, and we can begin celebrating the annual toasting of the rebellious Catholics. It will also be prime pub season.
