Oerwinde Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Oerwinde, a question: is there a way for the player to walk across the easternmost part of that 'circle' of houses? Otherwise if you wanted to go from one house to the house directly north of it you'd have to go all around the lake. Now I'm all for aestheticity in villages (and I love it), but a way to just hedge past the trees or wahtnot there would be good IMO. Apparently the Undo button works, just not for certain things, such as terrain placements. Not sure if it can be "enabled" in your version. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The northern part of the village is up on a bit of a plateau. So unless I totally misunderstood what you said, thats why you can't just go north from the eastern part of the houses to the northern part. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Tigranes Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Nah, that's what I meant. So you can't go up the slope on the east side? Probably irks a little when playinig, but I can see why it's that way. Looks great so far. metadigital Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Why is everyone is making a big deal about this toolset any way? I was lurking at the Bioware forums for a while and WOAH! Next to everyone was ballistic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because it allows every bedroom wannabe to have their shot at being a game developer? Gorth Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I just said that. You don't expect people to remember everything you said with a postcount of 11,673+... do you? “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. So unless I totally misunderstood what you said, thats why you can't just go north from the eastern part of the houses to the northern part. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That sure is cute. You should put a castle in there some where. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Judge Hades Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Ah typical medieval scene. A castle with a small village huddled around it. How fairly quaint. No, really. It looks quaint. I like it.
Dark_Raven Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 There must be a lord of the land and the lord would have a nice big castle. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Gorth Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Perhaps it is a farm cooperative? A castle might just be a tad too big and imposing for such an idyllic landscape. Maybe a house, bigger and more extravagant for the local mayor/lord/magistrate/whatever? “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Dark_Raven Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 He should make a forest where you can go hunting. Or it could be a place fo elves to hold their rituals with nature. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Volourn Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Hades wins. Anyways, the village looks nice. You should do something to spruce it up unless you don't mind having the typical village. Maybe old gargoyle statues on top of the hill with a legen about them 'guarding the village'. They don't have to be real gargoyles though. Just a legend. Or something that makes the village 'cool'. Still, it looks nice. I should be putting my new computer together by Monday so I'll be able to fool around with the toolset then as well. I'd be able to do now but my current video card meets all the requirements but the shader 2.0 junk. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Morgoth Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 (edited) That NWN2 editor looks like baby stuff. Why using a made-for-fans editor when a skillful artist could also realize a digital environment with Maya/Photoshop/Shake? *bragging intended* Btw, what 3d formats are actually supported in the Toolset? Does it also allow to import dxf/obj with material and vertex color options? Like in Source, where you could describe properties with a shader script. Does it also allow to import skinned models? You know, making custom animations and stuff. Edited October 7, 2006 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Pop Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Meh, if it's got a lot of utility, I don't care.
