I thought it was very sad. :ermm:

It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.

Robots (Robin Williams FTW)

28 Days Later not as bad as I expected: in fact a pretty decent post-apocalyptic vignette of man's inhumanity to man in a dog-eat-dog world.

I really liked 28 Days Later, but I went into the movie theater not knowing anything about it.

I do recall the next day making mental notes about things I could do to fortify my apartment against zombie attack.

Tomorrow it seems that I'm going to have to watch The Hills Have Eyes. Theres a good chance I'll be checking my watch about ten min. into it.

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

I liked it up until the point it decided it was actually an action movie in disguise.

Just saw Good Night and Good Luck. George Clooney has come a long way since "Return of The Killer Tomatoes".

I watched Serenity again last night.

And on the subject of 28 Days Later, I can barely recognize Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow and that bad guy from Red Eye.

Jaguars4ever is still alive.  No word of a lie.

Not to mention Doctor Who being a major.

Jimmy, what point did you think it became an action flick, after the double execution scene?

I just watched Kill Bill volumes 1 and then 2. The first film was a lot better than the second. I'm not a big fan of ultra-violence, and women being hit is not a pleasant site (and I understand that Tarantino just likes looking at pretty girls, and likes kung-fu, so he put them together), but Tarantino has shown that his best talent is his eclectic eye for old film. I liked the attention to bushido and the gravity of law and the structure of it in the film.

I thought the second film was overly long and had an acute identity crisis. Also, try as hard as I might, Uma Thurman just isn't believable as a kung-fu expert.

That's interesting. I've often heard people just dismiss the first as a mindless gore-fest and say the second had the better "plot".

Oh, just saw Master of the Flying Guillotine again. Don't ask me why I like it. Yes, I know it's heavy on the cheese. I think it's just that decapitation turns me on.

You don't like ultra-violence? Uhhh

Uhh

I was thinking about persuading you into watching some Miike films, damnation.

I've always thought the scene with Pai Mae (sp?) is it's one redeeming feature.

That was my friend's big issue/great recommendation item.

I just thought it meandered far too long; al the background stuff I had guessed in the first film: it was totally superfluous in the second. And David Carradine should have had more fight scenes. No respect for the grasshopper!

You should watch Koroshiya 1.

Yakuza boss Anjo disappears with three hundred million yens. His loyal gang members, lead by the masochist Kakihara, start a search, but their aggressive and gory methods worry the other yakuza gangs. Kakiharas most scary counterpart is the mysterious Ichi, a psychopathic killer with a dark childhood secret, who is controlled by a retired cop.

MPAA: Rated R for strong perverse violence/gore and sexuality, language and drug content.

Kill Bil Vol. 1 - pays homage to many geeky film genres, klingon proverb at beginning was funny, anime section very good the end bit was awesome in its OTT ness.

Vol.2 - Uh oh, run out of ideas, time to revert to talking "cool bul sh*t" mode zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

How can a cop control a psychopath?

Ichi the killer is something not found so easily. You could try to ask for it or just order it from some internet store.

This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Baley is nutz. :(

I found Vol 2 cool, by the way. Pai Mai is awesome.

The Man - and man, was it a stinker. A few good comic moments but eh...

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
